  1. personally, if it were me and i really thought the guy did something like that i would be out on the water and not mention a thing about it to the guy the next time you see him; while both of you are out on the water id get a trusted friend in on the deal and when you see the suspect head back to the ramp get your friend to sit close by and see what happens when he goes by your truck or whatever; this will often be the deal breaker; if he stops and looks at your truck or anything suspicious i would get authorities in on it unless you wanna confront him personally; and on the other hand if your not real suspicious of this guy in particular then just park in a better place or something from now on; but either way i wouldnt let it go without doin something; good luck; keep us posted
  2. i would bet that carp are whats jumping around so much; they do it everywhere
  3. bigger plastics and baits; throw some spinners and cranks and burn them right along the edges of cover and structure; not just once but wear it out; sometimes it takes a few times to get a heavier fish to commit to a bite; good luck
  4. Go fish it; this is the one and only way to prove to yourself if it holds fish or not; good luck
  5. spinnerbaits;cranks;plastics; cant pick one over the others; according to the circumstances
  6. any of the baits you mentioned will work; early morning is my favorite time to fish because of the coolness; late evening is great too
  7. spinnerbaits are great; they dont hang up and snag easily and with a quick retrieve they produce a reaction strike like no other; my biggest bass come on a spinner bait that was black with red flakes in it with a silver blade; i run these lures wide open by stucture and cover and when a bass hits it then its on; good luck with them
  8. i fish all winter and usually catch fish just not as many
  9. dont use any "one" thing or any "one" speed; vary retrieves and lures; find what works and go from there; fish cover and structure; be persistent and dont get irritated cause lots of times this will cut you short on paying attention to details; cranks, spinnerbaits, plastics;topwater will produce bass anywhere; good luck
  10. spinnerbaits; crankbaits and soft plastics are my favorites
  11. i think that fish is a solid 4lb fish; congrats; and it doesnt really matter what it actually weighs because its a trophy in your book and thats all that matters anyway; especially in your location; nice fish!!
  12. the dip stink baits sold at wal mart work great; chicken livers and boneless chicken breast soaked in garlic powder work wonders too; good luck
  13. you can catch big fish on small lures and baits but you will catch more big fish on bigger lures and baits more consistently; small fish will sometimes hit the big lures but not near as often; big spinnerbaits and cranks will get a big girl to bite the best in my opinion; also big 10-12 inch worms; good luck
  14. get used to all types of lures; plastics; cranks; spinnerbaits; swimbaits; topwater; some work better than others in different situations and at different times; good luck
  15. use bigger baits; use bigger spinners and cranks and buzz them right by them; lots of times the big girls will give you a reaction strike that the smaller fish will not
  16. i wouldnt limit myself to either; get used to using both because there are times that one will work far better than the other; i'd grab a few plastics and a couple spinnerbaits and cranks and just get to where you can catch fish with all of them; good luck
  17. any plastics will catch bass when they are aggressive; you should try getting into some of the cranks and spinners though; my personal best came on a spinnerbait and my second best came on a Bomber Square A crank; alot of times bass wont bite something unless you can get a reaction strike out of him and with a spinnerbait or crank if you come by him wide open then he will hit the bait without even wanting to cause he cant help it; then there you go you have a nice bass that may have not been caught for some time and alot of times they are heavy fish as well; good luck
  18. Using live bluegill and stuff like that work great under a float or on the bottom for bass. I've had luck with it. It's according to how many rods you can use too. With artificial baits you can cover more water and make lots more casts but with the live bait your goin to have to let it do its natural thing until something wants to eat it. If you can use more than one rod then i would use live bait on one and work lures on the other and since your competing for the biggest bass then i would use a big fish for live bait. at least 5-6 inches. Because you know that even just a 3lb bass will impress you with the size fish he can handle. So if i were going to do that then i would make sure its going to be a sizable fish that bites. Good luck.
