  1. J Francho, the two handed cast is already something I use. But, still I'm wanting lighter gear. I'll see what else pops up here, thanks.
  2. Fly fisher, I agree with that. But still, I'd like to lighten the load WRB, I'd like to stay under a couple hundred bucks if I could.
  3. Thanks fellas. An ounce or two? I'm not sure how much this will help. But I do know when I throw my light action outfits that it doesn't hurt nearly as bad later on. I'll look into your suggestion also Brian, thanks.
  4. What's your opinions on the lightest weight bass rods? I wanna stay around 6'6" and medium action. I fish a Pfleuger President combo now and love it, but its a little heavy considering my shoulder injury. After casting it for a while, it takes its toll on my shoulder. (Shoulder surgery: 2011) I need something sensitive, strong but super light weight. I wanna stay with a spinning outfit, and no I'm not even going to venture to try to learn to cast with my less dominant arm. Thanks in advance.
  5. Basically trout will hit anything other fish species will hit. Just present the bait to them in an inviting way and make sure the trout are actually there. Using something different than everybody else helps too. Marabou jigs spinners small cranks grubs Charlie bee jigs trout magnets etc. they all work
  6. The panfish in the next to last pic you posted....is this the fish you're inquiring about? That's a bluegill.....the smaller guy in the first couple pics looks to be a green sunfish..
  7. Clayton, what color rr do you have the best luck with? Thanx
  8. They are beautiful, and fight as hard as any fish I've battled this far.
  9. Got this brookie yesterday. It hit a Charlie Bee jig.
  10. For smallies i'd have to say a grub on a jighead. 2-3 inch
  11. x2 on what WRB said, this is the only color hint that i've known of
  12. Bomber square a, Cordell spot trap, kvd square bill, rapala flat rap
  13. Like Bluebasser said, most waters don't receive near as much pressure after light, the bass tend to act like deer during deer season. Come out to feed after the commotion settles in the safety of the dark.
  14. I hooked a bat when it grabbed my lure when I cast it. It swam to shore so erratically on top of the water, I was expecting a MONSTER bass to kill it, but it never happened.
  15. Any top water will get a hit at night in the warmer months. I do it often. I killed them with the ribbit frog last year. Use footwear that will protect you from a snakebite though. Slow down, and don't forget your light.
  16. Zoom trick worms in black did the trick for me a few days ago in a farm pond. Fish them slow. Try the deeper water then don't hesitate to hit the shallower waters especially on warmer days. I caught some in the thickest bunch of rip rap in the place.
  17. I feel your pain, dark basically everyday when I get home. Hate shortened days.
  18. Leviathan, do some searches online and see what you come up with, let us know what you think it is
  19. every lure and crank function better at different speeds, i've caught tons burning either of the two wide open through the water and triggering that reaction strike, just do some experimenting with it
  20. maybe a white cat?
  21. smallies are more athletic as you could say, seem to be in better shape stamina wise, they hold in current instead of slow water like lmb, also, they aren't near as lazy as lmb (more aggressive)
  22. keep tension on the rod, dont hoist it in, go to the right and left, dont pull the fish up to the top of the water:the less jumping the better, use a net if you can
  23. being that the hollow body can be used at any speed i'd use it when bass won't hit something moving faster; when they'll hit a fast moving topwater, i use a ribbit frog almost like a buzzbait, they'll kill it
  24. Wasn't there a thread identical to this posted very recently?
