  1. gambler 13 inch! I really want to try the c-mac 15 incher
  2. I have by far caught the most and biggest bass this summer on frogs and 13 inch ribbon tails Texas rigged with a 1/16oz tungsten sinker fished in weedbeds in 10-12 FOW
  3. It can absolutely be done, just have to take your time and play the fish and let it take line when it needs to. If you aren't using a wire leader, you better hope your line doesn't touch that muskies teeth! Some members on and many fishing guides on the flats in florida land 100lb+ tarpon with 15 pound test
  4. Oh yes, many times I have been down to key west and our fishing guide put us on crazy numbers of tarpon in 3-4feet of water. It was pure awesomeness!
  5. Awesome! What color pattern did the bait have? It looks like a bluegill or perch but I can't tell.
  6. Saving private Ryan
  7. As much as i love bass fishing, i have to say that flats fishing down in the keys for barracuda, permit, jacks, and tarpon is my favorite of all. I think many anglers choose bass because they are found in almost every body of water in the US.
  8. I believe that is a largemouth
  9. Nice fish, we have the same birthday!
  10. Hey guys, I headed out to my favorite pond this morning and the sky was cloudy with very little wind. I get to the pond and it is covered in muck but i was hoping for that. I was dying to break out the frogs! My fifth cast i nailed a beauty. She fought well and is one of my bigger bass this season! I caught her on a booyah pad crasher with a Medium-Heavy rod and 30lb braid. Sorry the photo is sideways It was a great birthday present!
  11. Many lakes around me are electric motors only, when me and my dad are using our trolling motor to get to our spot I will often toss some lures in the water and troll them. I have caught some big bass like this
  12. Check out the rapala skitter walk. It has replaced almost all of my zara spooks except for the big 5inch one
  13. Hey guys, I am deciding on a new spinning rod and am torn on which one to get: The Dobyns Savvy Micro Spinning Rod 6'9" Med Lt or the 6 foot 9 medium rod. The medium is rated from 3/16-5/8oz and the medium light is 1/8oz to 1/2oz. The techniques that are recommended for each rod are a hybrid of what i would want to do. For example, i might want to throw a darter head jig but i might also want to throw a senko. Would the heavier powered one be able to throw a light darter head? Thanks
  14. I use them the same places i always use a worm. My best places in the summer are actually weedbeds in 6-10 FOW. Just the other day i had a very successful outing catching multiple 3 pound plus bass on a gambler 13 inch ribbon tail!
  15. Chatter bait and buzz bait. I haven't even had a strike!
  16. Barracuda or Jacks, especially while flats fishing
  17. I should clarify, the lake is about 3-8 feet deep depending on the foot the weeds only grow to about 2-3 feet below the surface
  18. Hey guys, Tomorrow i am taking a short little trip up to my family friends private lake in PA. I have posted about this lake before. It is about 80-acres and is a shallow weedy lake that is filled with so many pickerel you can't believe but there are also some HUGE bass in here. The smallest bass I have ever caught was 2.5lbs and the biggest was one my dad caught at 7.2lbs Now, It seems like the bass numbers are down but i just think it is because pickerel jump on your lure first. Do you have any suggestions or advice to help me catch the most bass possible? I plan on bringing some big swim baits like a big rat bat, 8 inch punker, and my 8" hudd because i feel like they will keep the pickerel off and there are bass in here very capable of eating these swim baits. The weather has been stable for the past 3 days with only a stray storm. The weather for tomorrow and saturday will be about 80 with a mix of clouds and sun. Thanks! Also, there is one place where the lake sort of drops off about 2 feet but other than that, it is just submerged weeds and some sparse logs and lots of tall reeds on the shoreline for cover
  19. Spinnerbait up shallow to any new cover that may be present to the fish due to the high water
  20. What is your favorite cover or structure to fish? Around here, i have some lakes with giant moss beds mixed with sand bars. The moss sits right on the bottom and only grows a couple of inches. MONSTER bass roam these moss beds and sandbars in the low light hours! I also love to fish the pads. What about you?
  21. My best color is a pumpkin with purple and green flakes and a chartreuse tail, not sure what it is called. The one color I never caught a bass on was the white one with silver flakes. It's probably because we have no shad here
  22. All the previous suggestions are great! One if my lakes is just like you described and my favorite bait is a natural bluegill colored swim jig with a keitech trailer
  23. Swimjig for me. Very little resistance while being pulled through the water, catches big fish, and is perfect for the clear, weedy waters up here!
