  1. Fish a jerkbait and pause longer than you normally would. This is hard to do but will pay off when the water is so cold. Like the guys said slow down and have fun. Also it looks like you are taking a bong hit off of that fish in your picture. Just saying.
  2. No lights no phone not a single luxury. We would walk creeks and wade the rivers ever since I can remember. I'm the youngest so I always had older brothers carting me around fishing and exploring. Those were the good old days. Oh I always dug Maryann more than Ginger also.
  3. I love fishing the Deleaware River when it starts raining. The smallmouth seem to turn on then. I break out the cabin creek salty spider and we have 30+ fish days. Not sure why but we don't care we just know it happens. If raining for a couple of days we wait for the water to go down and clear a little.
  4. I released a 9.8 lb large mouth back into the lake I fish. It would have been a lake record but we took length and girth measurements and a lot of pictures. We did this all very fast and the fish swam away fine. I am having a fiberglass mount made from the pics and measurements. That's good enough for me. I think the more bass you catch the more you appreciate what it takes to become a true lunker.
  5. Skirts don't have holes in the front. I know I have chased a lot of them. Now I'm just running from the rolling pin..... I fish too much at times.
  6. Senkos Creature baits Craws Worms Grubs
  7. This was my plan also but I got it backwards and ended up wearing a skirt while punching other fisherman that were laughing at me. I'm going to flip and pitch lilly pads more this year.
  8. I fish all winter long lakes freeze and unfreeze temps. In the 30's. I can't say this enough BLADE BAIT! I have caught all of my bass this winter on a blade bait. I use the ones for bass pro in half ounce. By far the best cold water bait I have ever used. Gold color on overcast and silver on sunny days. Cast it out and move it in for 4 or 5 flutters then let it sit for up to 5 seconds. Most people fish the blade bait too fast or not at all. This will quickly become your winter go to. I hope this helps. Good luck!
  9. The jerkbait should work well with the water temp. you are fishing. Fish it slow and slight twitches will bring the fish. Good luck.
  10. Don't forget swim baits. Use a zoom swimbait in albino shad or Disco violet color with a wieghted belly hook. This is a very good spring bait for clear water lakes. You will be able to throw this anywhere as it is also weedless. Good luck.
  11. I am also from the school of go when you can. If you learn to fish the conditions you will have more success. If I'm fishing on a post front day I will downsize my baits. And fish a little slower.
  12. It all started with to Banjo Minnow from there I changed to the light up sonic lure after that I decided to give the skippy fish a try. That stopped working so on to the flying lure it was, the walken worm was producing for me but I am currently fishing the Mighty Bite 5 sense system with light up sticks exclusively. I have been using the Ronco pocket fisherman and it is really a great combo with a lot of sensitivity. I get all my lure recommendations from the TV! The Cable Guy
  13. Pong. I do when vertical fishing.
  14. Hey guys telling me to float a senko under a bobber. "Ain't Noboby got time for That!"
  15. Hey guys I finally got one of these! I have seen them everywhere I fish but have not had a chance to try them out yet. Somtimes they are on the ground but I usually see them growing on trees in all sorts of shapes and sizes. The way I figure it is if there are so many around the bass will be natuarally attracted to them. I can't wait until the ice thaws and I can get out there and start throwing these things!
  16. Still iced in here in the north. Ok, I picked up a Rage 7 foot MH rod for flipping and pitching jigs in the pads. Question is what line should I use. Should I use braid with a Floro leader or straight floro? Any info. Would be great.
  17. Still iced in here guys. I am going to flip a jig into pads more this year as one of my goals. I am going to get a "Bass Mojo" MH rod. Just was wondering if I should get the 7 foot or the 6.5 foot? I have a 7 foot bass mojo medium for plastics and love it. For the price you can't beat it. Any info. Would be great.
  18. Blade and again. IPad typos.
  19. I finally got out today from the bank. The lake thawed from all the rain last night so I gave it a shot. I landed 5 dink bass, 12 crappie and 3 yellow perch. I was throwing a silver blasé bait then work got in the way of my fishing again. It will be frozen againg around here in a couple of days so it was nice to get out.
  20. That is crazy. It looks photoshoped, long growing season out there in CA I guess. Wow.
  21. I'm going to try to flip and pitch a jig in pads more. I really need to learn how to do that. I really just started fishing a jig last year and it's a blast feeling them suck it in and setting the hook.
  22. Ok guys I'm still iced in. What is your favorite crankbait. No lip and lip. I absolutely crushed the bass this year with the Aruku Shad in the Magic Shad color. For lipped I was using KVD 1.5 but I gotta tell you I threw the Aruku Shad pretty much all the time because I could yo yo it up and down the water colum. Bring it on!
  23. Great info. guys the possibilities really are endless. I think it is what you have confidence in. You gotta wonder what bass think some of these things are with all the arms, legs and appendages. Thanks for chiming in.
