I Finally Got One!

Featured Replies

Hey guys I finally got one of these! I have seen them everywhere I fish but have not had a chance to try them out yet. Somtimes they are on the ground but I usually see them growing on trees in all sorts of shapes and sizes. The way I figure it is if there are so many around the bass will be natuarally attracted to them. I can't wait until the ice thaws and I can get out there and start throwing these things!

They grow on trees out here too. The ones that fall to the ground are over ripe.

I prefer these, but they're rare in the wild.

I love it when my brother calls them strike indicators.  His way of feeling better about using a bobber, lol.

Bobber trees start to get ripe in the spring during the bluegill and crappie spawn. By summertime most of the fruit has fallen.

Fly fishing term

Ya but I always have to give him a hard time about it.  Boy does he hate it.

some of the best smallmouth fishing can be done using a float and fly technique

i've read somewhere that senko on a hook with bobber is a good combo to use for bass...

Yeah, i've got a whole bag of them I have picked up over the years when picking up others trash. I guess I see why they throw them away. I have a whole bag and don't use them, I guess they didn't either.

i seen a fishing show doing this in the last year or two for smallmouth, senkos under a float...

I think you could rig a senko up with water proof road flares and still catch a bass.....

I am always amazed when I see a bunch of bobbers in a tree.  Makes me wonder how long it took them to accumulate.

We got ones here call Weeping Bobber Trees, they hang low by what looks like spider webbing

I have not tried it, but I saw on In-fisherman (I think), where a guy had a wacky rigged senko fishing with a bobber...aka "strike indicator". I fish from the bank, and wacky rigged senkos are nearly the same as saying "snag". I have thought about trying the wacky rigged with a bobber to see if I catch fish and NOT get snagged so much?

Anyone else try this???

The technique is tried and true.

You can also rig them on something like this...

They should come out with models that have LED lights in them and automatically turn on the week of Christmas.

Well played.

Rig the bobber so the Senko is just over submerged vegetation. Better if there is a slight ripple on the water.
