I was ripping tubes out of weeds in 15 feet of water today. I was very successful with this technique. Internal jig head and the often overlooked tube was the big ticket today. Just wanted to share in case anyone forgot how effective tubes are for both small and largemouth. Give it a try you won’t regret it!

I started switching to Diawa also. I have a Tatula CT SV a Fuego and 3 Ballistics. They are fantastic reels.

I’m a megastrike shakeyhead guy also. I fish them deep off shore and do better slow dragging it than shaking it.

Like Darren said. Get a paddle keeper. Works like s charm. Also put a rod holder or use a milk crate with PVC pipes attached to be used as rod holders. Lot of options for you.

I don’t mind when I’m asked the same things over and over. I always tell my friends that do that I’m going to get you started but you need to go from there. I let them know a good tip is to watch what I am doing and try to duplicate it if I am catching fish.

There are a lot of bear in the woods. They can stand on 2 feet. The mind really does play tricks on you. I believe that some people really believe in bigfoot because of somthing they saw or heard while in the woods. I also believe that if those same people never heard of the bigfoot legend they would not believe they saw or heard a Bigfoot. It’s been going on since the beginning of man. For largemouth I usually wear my hair in a pompadour but when fishing for smallmouth I like to wear a more of a bad ass James Dean style. That’s how I roll.

I plugged in my guest battery charger and the red charging light didn’t come on. I changed the in-line fuses but it still does not work. It’s about 17 year old. Do these go bad? Is it time for a new one? Checked the plug and it is getting power. Any info is appreciated.

Junebug works great for river smallies here. I throw both for large mouth with an equal amount of success. Black and blue get the nod in stained water.

While bluefishng on a party boat at night My friend put his rod down against the rail. As soon as I said you shouldn’t do that it sling shotted overboard. Pound for pound best fighting fish in the ocean.

I was a life long Shimano guy but have now added some Daiwa reels to my line up are are really liking them.

I use a baseball pitch counter clipped to my belt loop sometimes to count bass. Easy and fast for me.

I have a Ballistic LT in the 2000 size for drop shot a 2500 for tubes and TRigs and a 3000 for snook while on Sanibel island. They all perform very well and are really smooth. They are great reels for the money. I got all of mine off of eBay.

AJ, you are inspirational. I am going to start a work out routine again. I like the hanging bar you have there. Did you just use eye bolts in the rafters?

I have been throwing a swimjig and having some success. I am using Flourocarbon on a MH rod but not getting good hook sets. I was thinking about switching to braid with a Flourocarbon leader. Do you think I will get a better hook set? I don’t have any issues with a hook sets on regular jigs with Flourocarbon. What do you think?

X2 on this on. Spinning reel and a medium rod that you will be able fish on lakes, rivers, creeks and ponds with a variety of techniques.

Yep. They will eat anything they think is food. An example I will give is an ugly otter. They hammer those things for me and I have never seen anything like that any place I fish.

I use mega strike. Especially when the water is cold and you are moving baits slower.

It have the micro. I like it. I mostly use it for ripping lipless cranks out of grass in the spring using braid. It’s pretty sensitive for bottom contact also. Not a bad rod at all for the money.
