St. Croix Mojo Bass or Johnny Morris Carbon Lite?
I am partial to the Carbonlite's due to cost and feel. No experience with the new Mojo's but did fish with an older one and it was a nice rod, nothing noticeable between it and the Carbonlite in regards to sensitivity. The Carbonlite felt better to me in the hand. But the new blank Mojo seems to be getting good feedback and reviews. Don't think you can go wrong either way honestly

Looking to get a new trailer
I am looking to get a new trailer for my boat. New or used in good condition. Found several in the area, some new with title, some used without. The trailer I have now does not match up with the boat so it is a PAIN to get on and off. I cannot go fishing by myself as I must have someone to pick up the bow of the boat to allow the nose to sit on the v shaped mount on the front end and the boat to trailer right. With that being said, what would you look for in buying a new trailer? Obviously good condition, must be able to fit an 18 ft center console, and preferably with a title. Any other recommendations or things to look for?

Helix 7 SI
I actually had my boat mechanic install both it and the bow mounted unit. I did not get the HD unit but I figured this unit would still show more definition than what it is. Its not showing any laydowns or tree or anything I will use the above suggestions and see if it will help it out

Texas Rig Question
On a Texas rig I usually want separation to some degree. It causes the plastic to have more action it seems. Now when punching I use a bobber stopper as I want the weight and the bait to be compact and together which makes it easier to punch through pads etc. And like stated above when you move the bait and begin to retrieve it the weight slides right back down to the hook
- South Texas is HEATING UP

Helix 7 SI
Anyone have any idea why my SI is not very detailed? It shows basic contour changes and points from the bank but it doesnt show the detail I have seen on the images online in videos or pictures.

Daiwa reels
Looking into trying out Daiwa reels. Looking at Tatula 100. Anybody got any input on these? Been reading up on them and I was looking mainly at the Tat 100 and was going to buy the upgraded 100mm Power handles seeing as they fit all Daiwa 100 size reels. Looking at either these or Shimano Citca or the Curado. Any feedback would be appreciated

Did your boat ever get hit fishing
Never been hit but just a few weeks back had a close call. Was on Randleman lake here in NC a few weeks ago and was running from one of the back creeks back towards the marina and the other side of the lake. We come around a bend and a boat is coming toward us from the other side of the lake. Now we could clearly see him, but he wasn't paying much attention evidently. Its fairly narrow in that area of the lake so we move over to the other side. This guy still not paying attention jumps over to that side all the while scanning the edges of the lake and not looking where he is going. In my head I was literally thinking this guy should not own a boat let alone drive one. Only about 150 yards out did he finally see us and turned real quick to avoid paths. It was a hair raiser for sure

Denali Jadewood J2 or Dobyns Fury?
I just got the Denali Jadewood J2 for medium diving cranks(10ft-17ft) and like it for that application. Honestly though its tip heavy. I have a lighter reel (carbonlite) on it so this may play into it but even with a heavier reel it still is a tad tip heavy. I'd go Dobyns Fury for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits, just my opinion.

cranking battery dieng?
I have a two battery system on my center console. Cranking battery and a battery that runs all the graphs/radio/TM. Only running one battery seems like it would drain that battery pretty quick.

big worms?
When you say stained, how stained are we talking? In dirty water fish usually go shallow and stick to cover, granted thats not a 100% guarantee. I've fished some stained water around here (not dirty but stained) fishing 15-18ft water where there was stumps and brush piles right next to a steep drop off that went up gradually to about 6 ft of water where a shallow flat was. Using a Gambler ribbon tail 10in. worm with a 3/8 oz weight texas rigged I would cast out past the brush and stumps where the bottom really had no composition, I'd drag it back in to the brush and stumps. When I felt it hit a stump or log I would stop and then hop it up and down slowly in place then work it over the structure and that is usually when they would nail it. If not I would drag it up the steep drop off but my larger fish were down in the structure. After a couple fish it seemed the bite on the worm died so I switched to a medium diving crankbait on the ledge where it dropped off and then a shallow crank for the flat.

big worms?
I use a Gambler or Rage tail with a 3/8 or up weight depending on depth. Look for any off sure structure or drop offs/ledges and work it SLOWLY. I see way too many people fishing a worm and think they are fishing slow but in reality they are fishing way too fast. You can catch them like this when they are super aggressive but fish it slow. Drag it or hop it back, I prefer dragging it back

Looking for a dedicated Swimbait Rod
Okuma Guide Select is a great rod. I have 4 for my swimbait setups. On my higher end setups I have LDC's. Best custom rods for big baits out there

go to tactic for big bass
During the warmer months a Texas rigged 10in. or larger worm, a larger 3/8 or 1/2 jig with trailer depending on water depth, a swimbait on a swim jig head for deeper points and drop offs, and a Huddleston when looking for that big kicker fish

Looking for new rods $100-120
Fenwick HMG, BPS Carbonlite would be my choices. But there are a ton of good rod's within that price range. Dobyns fury is another, some say its not worth the Dobyns name but others love em

Affordable Rain Pants
This is what I did. Love the suit. When I got them I went over the entire suit and the stitching looks good and no blemishes or issues also great for colder months you can add layers underneath and the hood on the jacket is like a cocoon

Best Rod and Reel Combo on a Budget
In that price range check out the BPS Pro Qualifier combo. The carbonlite is a heck a rod and the PQ is a great reel as well. Have multiple of these setups myself and love them

Line for baitcaster
I was using P-Line for quite some time. Great abrasion resistance. Then I was referred to Yo-zuri hybrid by forum members. I use 10lbs & 12lbs and I am all in! Love it, use line conditioner and have not had any issues with memory. Use 15lbs for heavy cover jig fishing or Texas rig fishing. The break strength is significantly higher than listed so 12lbs would probably do

Trailer or no trailer on bladed swim jigs?
I always use a trailer on a chatterbait. I also have a spinnerbait tied on with out a trailer and one with one when I am fishing. During summertime slow rolling one along the bottom can have its results believe me. Sometimes they prefer a larger bulkier look so I rig a trailer other times they dont so I put a trailer hook on and no trailer. I let the fish decide
