I did my cheapskate kayak keel guard refresh this week.
nah not the front, never had an issue up there but i do on the stern. I don't see how anyone could really wear through on the front of a kayak unless you are doing a lot of dragging or smashing into concrete ramps.

I am glad my kayak has a replacable keep guard for that exact purpose.

Use of Rio Fly Clips
Fly clips are plenty strong enough but I am not sure on the weight but i know the twist clips in the smallest size are over 20lb and the largest are over 50

I did my cheapskate kayak keel guard refresh this week.
I think I cared about scratches on my first kayak but then realized it doesn't even matter. A heated up putty knife smooths out any scratches good as new. I fish mostly rivers though so if i cared about the bottom of my kayak I would be in the nut house.

Heaviest Soft Plastic Jerkbait?
Weight isn't as important as density. I know certain colors aka plstics on the zoom flukes sink differently than others. The more single or bicolors without flake don't have the same plastic as the ones with glitter and those that have the glitter sink differently. All that being said the zoom magnum fluke is pretty heavy.

New grill..
I am not sure what you guys are doing to need 30-60 minute to get your charcoal grill ready. I use a chimney starter like I have been for 20 years and within the time it takes me to get whatever meat I am making ready, so is the charcoal, unless I am trying to go super high heat for steaks or something as that can take some more time. Charcoal definitely tastes better and I had a weber kettle for years until I traded a duckett baitcaster for a komodo joe and whenever it is time for that to be replaced, I will go with another komodo style.

Hot Side Lake Anna
I used to think spawn was based on water temps and while they are around a certain temperature, some studies indicate the amount of daylight per day is as much a trigger and that normally correlates with temperature but not always.

Italian Food
I went to Italy in 2001 and I can agree that italian food in Italy is different. It took me a while to go out to eat after I got back. One thing i did have over there that I absolutely loved and haven't seen since i got back other than when I make it is pistachio pesto. Swap out pine nuts for pistachios, unsalted if you can and you will love it.

Lithium batteries
That's interesting on the cycles warranty deal because I have not heard that and it would probably extend the battery warranty even longer. I fish from a kayak so the extended use of lithium combined with weight savings makes a difference for me.

Italian Food
I like all kinds of italian food ranging from your basic bolognese to all types of pizza. One of my favorite super simple dishes is Cacio e Pepe. I think we need Giada to do something like Rachel Ray did... https://www.fanpop.com/clubs/rachael-ray/images/24835454/title/fhm-magazine-photo

I am not keeping any rod in my vehicle, mainly because i have seen heat damage rods.

Lithium batteries
Most reputable Lithium battery companies have warranties that cover exactly what you are asking, pretty sure conventional battery companies are nowhere near that. You also have to consider the AH rating is more than you would get with a conventional rated the same AH since you have 80-90% capacity usage.

For kayakers, do you remove your transducer if you decide to float a shallow creek/river?
I never take mine on rivers unless it is higher water or winter.

Newport Vessels new kayak outboard motor
I also set mine up with stick steer and have a rudder type attachment on the motor shaft which allows me to stand while drifting downstream and use the motor as a rudder. It has taken me a little while to figure out what I want in a motorized kayak but I am pretty much there at this point. I was motorless for years and finally pulled the trigger on a motor for this exact purpose, self supported river shuttles. Part of the huge problem with kayak fishing/fishermen are they try and solve problems they don't even have because some guy on the internet said to do it. I have been kayak fishing for over 2 decades now and I just got a warranty replacement boat (something that doesn't happen on pond prowlers or jon boats) and I still didn't rig it up until I fished it a few times and waited to see what this particular boat needed to have done.

Time for Some Truck Maintenance
I agree that there is a lot of basic maintenance on vehicles that is not hard at all if you are willing to take the time to do it. I mean fluids are easy, drain and replace. Getting to the drain can be a pain but they are never that bad really. I replace spark plugs every 60k miles or so, 4 cyl motor for me so it is cheap and easy to do.

Couple things off with your assessment here. The NK300 is the equivalent of a 3hp motor and they have a NK180s which is less expensive and less thrust. The torqeedo you are comparing to is not the same one, that one is more comparable to the NK180s at 2k and with the smaller battery. I have around 1500 in my NK180s set up and more battery life than the upgraded battery torqeedo set up which is 2500. the NK300 is more comparable to the 110 3torqeedo which with battery starts at $2900. You can also get a larger battery for less money and increase range. If you go with a 30ah 36V you save about a grand over the torqeedo with similar range. Spot lock feature is fantastic, only problem is it is weak and slow and the boat sucks to paddle should you have to do just that. My dad has one and the spot lock worked fantastic on our river trips but the problem was he couldn't motor upstream given the weak thrust. On lakes i would be at 40% throttle while he was maxed out. It also wasn't real fond of grass and needed more depth to navigate. I think for a lake it would be a solid kayak if speed isn't your concern. I'd rather have a good paddling boat with a motor than a bad paddling boat with a motor. My NK180s will motor me upstream 5+ miles on a river and then i can float back or on lakes I have gone 10+ miles all with a 30ah battery. maybe but at the same time the rivers I fish you would have a tough time in normal summer months water level.

can you fish where you work? office?
When i was in the corporate world there were a bunch of ponds in our office complex and all held bass, some decent sized. A few went through some weird algae blooms that seemingly killed most living things off but the others were still fine. I would go out early before work some days and hit them at lunch on others. Now being a teacher no chance to leave during the day for anything but I am about 5 minutes from the James river.

my kayak fish finder is getting JANKY, what was it like fishing without one?
I read maps and looked for any sign on the water that would indicate bottom conditions and contour. Another key bait for me was a carolina rig that i could drag along and feel the differences easier than any other bait. I hated it which is probably why I don't bother with them any more. I was definitely more of a bank beater and now not as much.

Bass fly unique patterns requested.
Majority of mine are finesse changers and they are pretty quick ties. Two materials one for the tail and one for everything else and a bunch of shanks and you are good to go. I can probably tie one in 15 minutes or so.

it is a great fly but it takes a lot to tie it. I am a sucker for a nice crawfish fly though.

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
i think it is more there are so many rule changes each year that it makes it difficult to hone the skills to mkake the appropriate calls when they are warranted. Refs didn't impact that ganme to make someone win or lose. Refs always miss calls or mnake calls fans disagree with, its part of the game really.

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
here is where the simple minds don't get it...they weren't booing his accomplishments they were booing him as the QB. Why he was on the field doesn't even matter. It will probably be the only way he gets on a Super Bowl field anyways so you gotta take your opportunities to boo him
