  1. I also agree about talking to your doctor before doing anything, don't want to come across wrong there. There are lots of alternative solutions out there that may work for you that aren't medicinal per se.
  2. Don't forget kruk and dykstra too although dykstra pretty much went nuts from all the roids I think Kruk was highly underrated too....career .300 hitter and traded his number to a rookie for a case of beer, can't beat that!!!!
  3. If you can do 30 pul ups from straight arm hangs with no kipping then i wouldn't even worry about it as even though you are skinny you are still strong. You are also pretty young too. I know i didn't grow till colleg really as far as bulk goes....i graduated high school at 5'11" 145 and then within two years of college i was up to 180 and now at 36 i am hovering around 195 Also you could try getting off the adderall too. I mean you seem like a good kid with a solid family and a dependence on a medication that in my opinion is over prescribed can only help you. The key to gaining weight is eating like a beast as often as you can but stay away from processed stuff and you will be fine. When i am hardcore cycling i comsume an easy 6k calories a day and still lose weight.
  4. Yup....i really like it and if i see them in my walmar i will pick up some more. They also work well as a swim bait trailer if you are looking for a bulkier profile.
  5. Yeah Dutch was awesome and all those guys from the early 90's were too. Talk about a rag tag bunch of players who were as close as you can get to winning it all. I was even lucky enough to go to a world series game that year too....they lost 15-14 but hey it's still fun
  6. I know it has been mentioned but be sure to use the perfection loop as it will keep the leader straight and not kicked over to one side as is common with other styles of knots.
  7. I would say 10lb easy.....well after you use it as bait and catch the lunker that is in the same pond
  8. The next three series for the Phillies will determine who is going to be dealt....pirates, braves the nationals. Part of me wants them to lose all the games to put me out of my misery but i have a strange feeling they are going to win every series and keep that small glimemr of hop i still have alive.
  9. Nail knot to the fly line works well. Assuming your fly line does not have a welded loop i usually either get one of those chinese finger cuff loops and use that for anything 5wt and under over that i am using a nail knot or loop to loop connection since most if not all modern fly lines have welded loops. I will also say to just get a good tapered leader and not mess with all the tying sections together. Yes it works and is probably cheaper but the hassle isn't worth it to me. I buy a tapered leader and add tippet as needed and a leader usually lasts me close to a whole season. For my bass set ups i just go straight leaders. Tie a perfection loop in either 8lb or 6lb flouro/mono and be done with it.
  10. Leader and tippet are kind of one in teh same really. The difference is tippet comes in one weight throughout and leaders are usually tapered ad as you start to lose the end due to break offs and reties you add tippet. WIth all that being said, what is on the end of your fly line now and does your leader have a loop on it?
  11. it casted fine with my spinning tackle and yes, it does have a very erratic retrieve as long as you don't go to fast which causes it to roll.
  12. I have braid that i have been using for two years now and it is ok so i would say go for it but maybe take some spare line with you n case soemthing goes crazy while you are out there.
  13. Congrats and only a few oz shy of a citation
  14. I use both but primarily one handed unless i am going for distance with swim baits, cranks etc...Spinning is pretty much all one handed though.
  15. I have read and been told to think of them as bass freckles aka pigmentation abnormalities that certain fish will have and has no effect on the fish
  16. Unless you are fishing toothy critters i have not found the need for a net. To me it is one more thing to have to find a place for and get tangled up, because it will get tangled at one time or another.
  17. Nice fish. I grew up near philly myself and i think i recognize the lake you are fishing at....
  18. A fish pulling your kayak is the best drag you will ever have and the most fun
  19. That's the plan. We bought a DSLR last year and i got my fiancee a class on basic photography and she is really picking it up. I need some new pictures for work so I am sure some of these will make the cut
  20. Keen H2's for me when wading. They do a good job. If you are looking for the best of both worlds then do a search and see if you can find the older keens that they made for simms with the felt sole. Those things are awesome for wading.
  21. you could get a BPS PQ and one of the plethora of good $100 rods out there and not be out a ton more than your budget. I'll save you the recommendation of $100 rods though as there are already a ton of posts on here for that so just do a search and you wil lfind more than enough info.
  22. What kind of kayak and how long have you been using it? The only reason i ask is if you are pretty good at using the yak then you shouldn't have any problem tying knots or leaders (i tie direct with braid so no leaders for me) or even flyfishing. There is a learning curve but once you feel comfortable in your boat there really isn't much i can't do in my kayak from a fishing perspective that i could do in a larger boat.
  23. I didn't post the pics of him crying because we had to leave though. He wasn't listening and started wandering a little to far away and not stopping when we asked him to so......fishing trip cut short but i think he was about done anyways after an hour in the sun and waiting for the fish to bite
  24. To me the only big advantage to baticasting reel/rod combos is a higher line retrieve speed. I can't throw a buzzbait on a spinning reel but other than that i use a spinning rod for a lot of things. I also find that the casting rods provide more backbone for certain techniques as well. Just like DVT said, it is all about finding the best tool for the job and baitcasters fit the bill for quite a few for me. Also you don't need to go up to a curado for a quality baitcaster. There are plenty in the $100 range that do well with the BPS PQ and Shimina Citica coming to mind.
  25. You can take plenty of rods if you rig it right That being said some 30 or 40lb braid will fit the bill for pretty much everything.
