  1. I want Harper in there so he can flop there too.....I can't stand that guy and all the hype. I won't completely derail your thread though I like Fielder too, he is just entertaining
  2. No love for Domonic Brown?
  3. you can add me to the all braid club too but i have been tempted to try some flouro on my finesse spinning rod set up.
  4. The only way to tell what is best is to try them out. Generally speaking a glass lens is always going to be better than plastic as it is easier to have a uniform lens. Lens color also comes into play as does the type of water you are fishing. I have tried just about every pair of sunglasses out there (working in an outdoor retail store and fly shop has its advantages) and the best i have found are the costa del mar 580g in green mirror. There is no distortion like you get with plastic lens, think oakley, native and smith. As far as opening yourself up to additional UV exposure by wearing you are probably right to an extent but it still a whole lot less than if you didn't wear anything and remember that sunglasses are as much about protection from flying objects as the sun. I know mine have saved me a few times from overhanging trees floating the river or hooksets that didn't hook.. Also if you wear contacts like i do there is a good chance your contacts prevent UV exposure. I know mine do, or at least that is what the label says.
  5. I am also in the non DH boat myself. It puts the NL teams at a big disadvantage as they don't have the luxury of paying for a big bat that only hits all year instead of a guy who can actually play in the field. It also extends careers past when guys should be playing. Managers aren't a big part in baseball but in the AL it is even less as you never have to worry about pinch hitting and leaving a pitcher in so you can pinch hit and only lose on player instead of a reliever and a hitter. Let the manager actually manage instead of playing fantasy baseball..... I have seen the time enforced a few times but i think it was just warnings and it was yankees red sox which are notoriously slow. I do remember seeing umps not granting time to a batter a few times last season. As far as Hamels goes it is ridiculous lack of run support he gets. I think i heard that he has about 33 runs scored for him in his starts this year. He should be used to it though because last year was really the only year he had any type of offense when he was on the mound. I also hate interleague play and increasing the strike zone isn't really needed but calling what is the strike zone should be enforced. If i remember correctly a strike is supposed to be from the letters to the knees but you rarely if ever see a strike called above the belt.
  6. In no way am i exchanging Tebow with Sanchez....it was mrerely to point out that what appears to be a good QB is not always as a result of the QB play....if i remember correclty didn't the QB of the Ravens get cut the next season after their first super bowl or it may have been Tampa Bay....
  7. I am with you on this one too.....many have said i would love him to marry my daughter but not quarterback my football team. He had a good run there with Denver but really it was the defense that carried the team there. Look at the run Sanchez had with the Jets when they had a stellar defese and a running game and now i doubt anyone would say man he got a raw deal and i want him on my team.
  8. There is no way to tell without scientific research and sampling studies done to determine impacts. Anecdotally you will here people say it effects the fishery because last year it was awesome and this year it sucks. I have fished many small ponds that do and don't have bucket fishermen and they seem to be more volatile in their production from year to year than a larger body of water. My thought is that larger bodies of water have more capability to withstand changes in weather, temperature spawning time etc...where smaller lakes cannot rebound as quickly. To say that they do not have any effect is probably not accurate and to tsay that they can decimate a population is probably a little extreme on the other side. THere are so many factors involved in keeping a fishery healthy and pin pointing to one specific cause is probably difficult.
  9. I agree. Although he would have to be labeled as a 2nd string QB or other skill position if he wanted to come in and run a wildcat and still allow pretty boy to come back in after the play was run due to the weird rules they have around substitutions and a 3rd string QB
  10. Cool fish. I had a pie bald bulldog before too. I haven't seen it in a fish other than pictures though.
  11. I do like the phillies old baby blues not a fan of the cardinals though. The orioles is a good logo too but i still think the old brewers logo is one of the tops in all of sports. I was born in 76 so i was still a little young to remember all the greats from the early 80's but i do remember seeing schmidt play quite a few times and lefty pitch once. Being a basketball fan though i have been really lucky to see a ton of greats play...Dr J, Bird, olajuwan, drexler, shaq, jordan, lebron, james, kareem, barkley, Karl malone, Moses Malone.....etc I was more into basketball once i got my driver's license and the sixers were more fun to wtch than the crappy baseball the phillies played from the mid 80's through their world series appearance in 93 (which i did go to the 15-14 world series game).
  12. If he is going to be successful as a QB, his best shot is in NE where at least he will know which defensive plays will be run without having to read them himself.
  13. You set the hook on every bait but some require a different hookset style. I set the hook the same I would for a spinnerbait. Feel the hit then set the hook solid. There is usually a decent sized hook and a brush guard to contend with so a solid hookset helps.
  14. I don't see any reason why it would be any different keeping fish buttoned up as any other crank or treble hooked bait. The hooks on my scatter raps seemed to be decent and i haven't changed them as of yet so i would guess you are not getting a decent hookset on them or your rod/line combo wasn't allowing enough stretch to keep them hooked. What combo were you using?
  15. If they played the phillies every week they would win 120 games....and yes i am referring to the old logo, that thing is awesome. Not sure how often they use it but it seems like i see it pretty often.
  16. The reds are a puzzling team for sure and i have never liked Votto since he seems like a big crybaby Ofcourse you could be a phillies fan like myself and be even more puzzled at how you can play so well and then get nearly swept i na 4 game series by the brewers, who by the way have the best logo in all of baseball in my humble opinion.
  17. Now just make a shorter 4" version with the same concept in the head section so that the durability is increased for those of us who like to nose hook dtick baits for smallies
  18. Both are sponsors here, Northstar and Seibert Outdoors. They both make super high quality jigs at very affordable prices and have a ton of color and head styles to choose form.
  19. I have that exact rod and like it. Keep in mind the spinnerbait is just the name they throw on it and it is by no means a technique specific rod. I actually prefer a little shorter rod for spinnerbaits myself. I use that rod for jigs, frogs, texas rigs etc....i don't think you get to much more versatile than a 7' MHF rod.
  20. Kratz sucks....he even went to my college and goes to my brothers church but if I ever meet him I going to tell him to find a new career....he is bad defensively and makes dumb mistakes. Not saying he lost the game for the phillies yesterday but he didn't help.
  21. I spooled mine up with 40lb test power pro myself an had no issues. I think it took pretty much the entire 300 yard spool.
  22. Actually a lot of places set them outside for the various companies to pick them back up after delivery since the retailer gets charged for missing crates.
  23. No, a rip off is what you did by stealing the crate....
  24. I prefer the fly but sometimes conditions just don't let that happen. I use a 7wt sage do with a galvan ob reel and an SA GPX line. I am also a big fan of rabbit hair flies for smallies too
  25. Pretty much all the major players have lifetime warranties which usually consists of mailing it back with $50 or so and you get either a fixed rod or replacement. I have used the sage warranty quite a few times on my DS2 and am about to on my largemouth bass II.
