New pb
I didn't realize people weighed those things regularly. I have only weighed one that was citation size here in VA. so I guess he is my PB as well lol Nice fish though and they are fun to catch when nothing else wants to cooperate. I had one of my most memorable days in 45 degree water where they were hitting something on top and i caught probably 20 in a few hours, counting the fish i caught more than once, which were quite a few.

Bicycle fishing
As a kid aka before my license I used to do it all the time. Now there are better options for me to fish that i can drive or just hike to. I have even carted my kayak for close to a mile to get to some places but those days are behind me lol

bass guarding fry
Fish populations are stunted because of overpopulation not over harvest. Game fish are fighting for prey species and there isn't enough to go around.

What's the deal with bank fishing?
There are also vibrations from you walking that can put fish on alert as well. When I bank fish I usually stand back but i also try and fan cast starting almost parallel to the bank and go from there.

NIGHT FISHING
I plan on making my first evening into the night fishing excursion of the year on saturday. It is easier to get out after the kids are in bed and the stuff around the house is done. I have also had some killer nights as well. Two years ago i caught multiple citation sized fish all on a frog. It was pitch black and i couldn't see anything really so i had to rely on feel, even after i heard the toilet bowl flush multiple times that night as the bass inhaled my frog.....addicting.

Fishing/outdoor “fashion”
Lighter colors are cooler. I have found i am cooler with a long sleeve shirt in the summer than when i am short sleeve or shirtless so that is what i wear. Being in a kayak it also makes wearing a PFD (inflatable for me) more comfortable as well. I will also agree that any synthetic shirt will provide all the SPF you need. I remember when i was working in an outdoor store close to 20 years ago now the SPF clothing was coming out. I talked to a rep about it and he told me that basically they were doing absolutely nothing new to the clothing other than the tag saying it was SPF whatever. They did test the clothing just to be on the safe side though.

Cases for 2 piece rods?
Look at fly rod cases. they make rod case that can handle 4 piece and 2 piece rods of all different sizes. I am sure even st croix has a case that will work.

Reel price spike!!
not in my experience, it isn't the same. Being able to increase the drag isn't the same as a bait runner but whatever works for you is what matters.
-
Reel price spike!!
rear drag isn't a bait runner and the spirex aren't bait runners at all. There are some good smaller bait runner reels out there too like the Penn Fierce and Okuma. I haven't used it but i also know KastKing makes one as well. They are definitely out there.

Bass Boat and Puppy Drum
Small redfish i am guessing is what he is referring to as opposed to the bull drum that are monsters

NBA season starts tonight
They have been pretty solid. The first round was boring but that is kind of normal really. Second round has been really good. The top 4 teams in each conference are pretty much the same really with the exception being GSW who are definitely beatable in a 7 game series.

New horror, how to prevent line twist on spinning rod?
Use braid, problem solved. Closing the bail manually and using KVD line conditioner will also help for non braid applications or at least it has for me. You may have also overfilled the spool which can leave wraps loose and start wind knots aka the backlash of spinning rods.

Back facing rod holders for kayak?
Key here is first time. You need to adjust your casting stroke somewhat to accommodate for rod storage. I personally hate having rods attached to my crate so i use angled back flush mounts and i rarely if ever hit them. I also don't remember the last time i did a straight overhead cast while seated. Standing i can cast however i want because i am generally higher u than any of the rods i am gonna hit. Go out a few more times before you make any changes. You'll figure out what works for you and your style in your boat pretty quickly.

Leader for Froggin'?
braid casts better, lasts way longer so it isn't more expensive, well tied knots don't slip, pull hard to get out, really lol, won't bite in if you spool it right, flex isn't as big a deal in the slop when you are trying to pull fish out as quick as possible I will take braid, and so will pretty much everyone else when frog fishing, best tool for the job.

Does u40 cork sealer make cork handles last longer
never had a cork rod handle wear out so never bothered sealing it. It does make it look nicer for longer though.

The "why" of Senkos
yeah they do. have it happen all the time. they pull the pinchers of jig trailers, tails off worms and I have even caught them on motionless jerk baits, They eat pretty much anything that doesn't scare them.

Kayak clothing for cold water
whatever you decide just make sure you try it out while sitting like you would in your kayak. Neoprene sucks for mobility and many waders aren't designed for a lot of movement while sitting. I use breathable waders and a waterproof rain jacket and layers underneath as appropriate. I stay on water i know with limited chance of tipping. If i was on moving water a lot i would invest in a full on dry suit and call it a day.

Northern Richmond bank/wading spots?
Lots of places to wade on the James but i am not sure of water levels right now. Pony pasture is a good spot to wade but the fishing is eh...another spot to wade is the south anna on the 33 launch. you can go a long ways up or downstream there and there are other spots as well. Innsbrook ponds in glen allen are also ok and you may catch a couple and while they are in business complexes, nobody really bothers you if you aren't an idiot.
-
The "why" of Senkos
you must not fish much. Bluegills will eat pretty much anything left on the bottom if it can fit in their mouth and if it can't, they will still try.

Need help with my soft jerkbait technique
sharp hooks and a sweep is all you need. Also switch up colors if you aren't getting a hookup because they may not be hitting it as hard as you think.
