  1. I'm doing the whole pull the line with one hand and guide it into pockets. I tied on about 30ft of braid onto a full spool of FC and haven't made it to the knot. Just drop it in a pocket, bam! Fish hits it on the fall, crank down set the hook and swing em in the boat. I'm using my 2 omens and curados for all pitching stuff when I'm not up on top of the weeds. The lakes here everything is submerged so literally dropping 4 ft off the side of the boat. Twing is awesome but not for this.Edit* let me restate something so i don't sound like a asshat. Lakes here, the prime locations to flip have submerged weeds. Therefore we just troll through them when they're scattered. If they're heavier or denser we'll follow the outside weed line. Literally on top of it though. If we're working a shoreline or docks I'll just pitch. Pitching I normally use jigs and soft plastics. Can't really pitch a brush hog with a 1 1/2 oz weight into a downed tree. Lol
  2. What do you guys use? Is it better to have a small reel ie Curado 50/51 or a full size reel with a shallow spool? Wanna do a dedicated flipping reel. 20 yards of line. Set it and forget it. No pitching with said reel.
  3. Own the 201e5 Chronarch as well as 6 and 7 awesome reel!!!
  4. Hey I stated awhile back I got a lews CF300 spinning reel. It works pretty good but it only fits on one of my rods. The foot where it sits in the reel seat is twice the thickness and about 3/4 of a inch longer than standard Shimano. So some of my rods won't lock down all the way. Anyhow prob won't use it for freshwater because of that. Was thinking about sticking it on one of my inshore rods. It feels just like the Battle I had, very rigid frame, giant bail arm etc. prob made in same building in China. Have any of you guys used Lews in saltwater? Did it hold up or crap out after a few outings? Lews directly doesn't recommend salt use but then again only a handful of reels do. For what I paid i think $40. If it does crap out after a month and I get 3 stripers off it I'll be happy lol *edit underlined the question
  5. TW has split grip models in stock casting not spinning it looks like.
  6. Am I missing something? Are you referring to the new Zillion with TWS?
  7. Thoughout the spawning season I have good luck with them.
  8. If it were me I'd pour the whole bottle. And do it every other or 3rd fill up.
  9. last week I caught roughly 40 bass and a handful of hang ups on the same knot. With that said, guys, not saying you at all, might be tying knots that dig in themselves. Gotta use right knot for the job.
  10. out my price range awesome rod I bet! this new model is supposedly the TW line up but under a new name and not exclusive to 1 store.
  11. Just called them! Rod series is pushed back to end of October. They cannot reveal series name, price point, or any other details yet. But he did say if youre happy with the TW exclusives price point you will be with this.
  12. Own a Fenwick Silver Hawk which I grabbed for I believe $60 at Cabelas. The blank is awesome however the parts are ehh ACS seat is loved by some. I can use it but not my favorite. However SC3 blanks and up are awesome too. It depends on what youre willing to spend.
  13. Might have too much breaking and tension on tension knob???
  14. I use InvizX on spinning 6# and baitcasting 10#, AbrazX on Baitcasting 10# 12# 15# 17# and as leader on braid 12# & 15# also as backing for 30ft braid leader on flipping reel. Red Label on Spinning in 6# and Baitcasting 10#. As you can see I like Seaguar lol Ive only had 1 issue and it wasnt line management (3 bad spools with nicks from factory of 10# InvizX). Not to talk smack in anyway but it could have been spooled wrong or you purchased bad spools. Or your reels have a problem. If the line "stinks" then there wouldn't be a enormous market place for it.
  15. After this weekend trying soft body frogs for the first time. I would go as far to say, I consider them a wake bait. If you just do a constant retrieve with rod tip up, the body and legs produce a nice subtle wake along the surface. It's also weedless. Just an idea for another option.
  16. I said same thing till I held the Sustain fg. Lol
  17. It sinks! Therefore for me, any bottom contact, sinking, diving, etc etc application it plays an advantage for me. Certain fluoros are more abrasion resistant and others more limp and Castable. It's a trade off. Either way it works for me and I have it spooled on 80% of my reels. Don't let cost scare you, there's good stuff to be had and there's always places other than big box stores to buy from. Good luck!
  18. above photo where I mention paint quality. That's a zenith shaky 1/8 oz. Great product!
  19. Here it is! Best $15 you will ever spend in Bass Fishing!
  20. Siebert is the man! Order some jigs while your there try the new random box to get a variety for $15
  21. Few months back I spoke with a Powell rep. He said roughly 90 days a new series similar to the TW series will be released. Any word on this. I did some searching with the limited wifi I had in Ticonderoga and couldn't find anything.
