  1. Ok so when I reported this it was when I went from 17# FC to 50# braid. I think it's because I use lefty reels in right hand and at some point pulling the line it's either bumping the drag star or handle and forcing it up and over the t wing. It's not a every single pull of the line. It all depends on my wrist position and if I'm holding the rod high or low or out in front of me. So just a FYI of what I'm experiencing not bad mouthing the reel at all. I flipped today for about 5 hours straight with a handful of pitches every few dozen flips. The line does fall back in place no prob but when pulling line the line the feel of a snag is like a "wait what the" moment. Kind like feels like a guide is wrapped for a split second...
  2. Just a FYI for anyone interested in Tatulas. I didn't even realize it until yesterday. But when you pull the line to pull the bait up the line slides into the t wing. Got caught up in there a few times when I went to reel. Might wanna stick with a regular line guided reel if flipping is your thing.
  3. Shaky head on bottom of a dropshot sounds awesome but I wouldn't trust the knot up top to hold with a substantial fish under neath ex specially with light test FC
  4. don't use anything over 1/4oz unless you're dragging it. It kills the action on the fall. More subtle the approach the better. $0.02
  5. what he said! I was die hard Shimano until I got the Tatula, now I have 2 plus a type r. I like both brands very much and for many different reasons. Either way your golden.
  6. I seem to get hammered on my senkos with my size 1 double wide mustads but not nearly as much with my owners or gamakatsus. Guy I'm partnered with on a trail swears by black hooks but with red o rings. I'm a believer, I think the bass target the shiny red thing as a vein or something.
  7. First Rage bug: fishing it like a crank bait on humps and ledges. Smallies more than LMB are hammering this thing like it's their only duty being a fish. Like the almighty embedded in their genetics to see rage bugs and destroy them. Amazing! I stopped fishing them mid day as I only have 2 packs and tournament is Sunday. Great job Rage Tail! I've been rigging it with a 3/16 bullet weight in 5-10ft and 1/4 in 10' and over. Second Zoom horny toad. I guess this has been around for years and I live under a rock. First cast of the day trying it out and had a 3lb LMB. I fish the hollow body frogs a lot with mixed results. This bait I didn't fish a lot as top water died down but the action and buoyancy of it is really good. Third Siebert jigs need I say more? Not new completely new to me but color pattern is. Sapphire blue punch head with bluegill skirt. They perform, business as usual. Forth Biospawn baits a trick worm and stick worm both worked good. Had gotten these through MTB. New company I definitely plan on grabbing more. That's it for today.
  8. hell yeah he does!
  9. I'm just gonna spew off a few names of lines I never really hear anyone talk about. There's so many out there I'm sure there's gotta be a few gems. If you see a line you use please comment on it. Cheers! 10. Helps clarify to a certain extent. Sending DM
  11. Ahh thats sonmething I gotta learn, Thanks! Perfect! Thanks!
  12. Ive never had a nibble with a 3 or 4/0 off set wg hook. I was thinking it kills the baits wiggle. I guess not. Poll is tied. Ive been going wacky with a size 1 hook. Good luck thus far.
  13. Just want to clear it up, I resurrected thread. Have been using 6# FC for a few years now. Just looking for a alternative. Due to my gutsy approach of casting right into a downed tree with a wacky rigged senko on 6# and having a gazillion hangups and break offs. I need a alternative to save money on line. lololol
  14. DVT could prob answer this best for me... Although I have a handful of St Croix rods. I'm not sure on the differences. As far as the blanks go SC2 and SC3 is it pretty much like comparing 30T vs 40T or a IM7 to a IM8... Just trying to get a idea. I have a mojo and a premier for FW, and a mojo and avid for SW. but all the rods are so different its not like comparing a 7'MH/F sc2 to a 7'MH/F SC3...
  15. yea this is a Stradic 2500 standard spool on a ml cumara. My pride and joy combo all the break offs are killing me. I'd rather break of sections of leader than ruin 30ft at a time... Kinda what I'm getting at.
  16. so 20# ok I don't want to risk breaking my rod either lol
  17. 4 tourneys and 6 practice days later on said body of water. Too late... Stuff came in today. The cracker and plopper look great! I'm heading to Champlajn Wednesday prob gonna bring these with me. So general consensus heavy rod, 30+# braid or 20# FC. Also gonna prob use same rod for soft body frogs. Sound good?
  18. 20# power pro I have says 6#dia so was thinking that to 6# fc would be perfect.
  19. 1/2oz black blue flake football head 30+ casts for 1 fish, hung up 8 times smacked rocks on bluff about a dozen times. Looks brand new! 1/8oz green pumpkin shaky head 70+ casts, dragged, hung up on rocks and wood, 3 fish. If this picture isn't living proof of his paint quality idk what is
  20. Ok on the left 10# yo zuri hybrid on the right 10# (used) Seaguar Senshi they look and feel identical. Ummm isn't hybrid supposed to be FC and Senshi Mono?
  21. Random bump thread jack. I've been using 6# FC for drop shot but mostly just wacky rigged senkos. Rod is too noodley for shaky head can't get a hook set. Anyhow I literally have 40 break offs at a time. All that tension stretches the line to its max can't possibly good for the spool. After today I gotta find a new way that's cheaper I can't buy a spool of Invizx every outing. Tourney or not. Plus I have a few spools with like 20 yards apiece of FC laying around. Would 20# braid and a foot or 2 of leader FC be better? Like I said 9/10 I'm throwing straight senko wacky rigged.
  22. Didn't use it today, smallest violin playing in background.... Had a windy ass day went to casts whacked the talon and poof!! )/&3@,ed away a spool of AbrazX. But on the good note I'm spooling the Yo as we speak!!!
  23. wth did u search an ancient post?? Lmao
  24. me 2!!!! Had the GM of the Milford CT store do a full search in system none of the stores have em neither does the main warehouse of their .com orders. Only ones you will be able to find are the worm and jig, crank rod, and spinner bait. All in bait casting. Unless someone returns one were s.o.l
