  1. Lmaoooooooo hahahaahahhaahahaha I'm in tears! On Tacklwarehouse its on clearance for $159 Abu Revo Winch Left Hand Retrieve 5. Something ratio I wanted the Chronarch 201E5 missed one another guy was selling here, and idk been procrastinating. Made another thread about my trip to cabelas. I know other stuff I want, this pair will be my first BC set up and if its a matching set I don't see the harm in it. Trust me I'm worried about parting from Shimano but 1 reel I could give to a friend down the road isn't a big deal to me. If your free for a few minutes check out the reel let me know what you think. www.***.com/Abu_Garcia_REVO_Winch_Casting_Reel/descpage-AGRW.html
  2. Mr. Dam0007 aka Shimano fanboy is about to purchase Vertias Winch Rod Revo Winch Reel You guys have 1 hour to discourage me or encourage me. Lmao Waiting till Black Friday to buy other stuff I don't need but want. Lol
  3. @scaleface color or size?
  4. I own one (2500 size) and love it! I'm with 0119, 1000 may not be the best choice for your application although with bass in the mix you can't go wrong.
  5. Yea this Spinner Bait rocks! The Bass loved it! What surprised me is all of the spinners I have used over the years I never really had any luck nevermind 17 fish. And they were all good size.
  6. Spider Wire Ultimate mono 6#
  7. Thought it would be cool to share todays experience. So I have a arsenal of lures, cranks, spinners, inline spinners, worms, plugs etcetcetc. Depending which lake I fish depends what I use just from experience over the years. So today I grab 2 poles and hit my usual local lake with my brother. This lake I always have the best luck with Green Pumpkin and black power bait worms. If they're jumping for dragonflies I'll throw a inline here and there. Anyhow, the other day I grabbed a few spinners from Cabellas I think they are their brand for like $1.99 each. Never really have great luck with them regardless of color. So. We started with worms he was throwing motor oil and I started with green pumpkin. We caught 2 each in about a hours time I said let me try one of the spinners its 1/4oz size, white and blue mix color. Over the next hour 17 LMB. I have never had such luck on a spinner before. I have a new go to weapon of choice!
  8. Thanks for input guys. For the BC reels I was planning on doing 2 chronarchs one 5:1 the other 7:1. Give me a couple days to look up gear you guys listed before I respond further. To answer financial restriction question, I'm cool with dropping $800 on 2 setups. And if I can make out good on Black Friday or during holidays in general, I may go further. Key is a 1 for 1/4-1/2oz Cranks and 1 for 1/4oz spinners. I have a Lamiglas SW rod, good stuff! Been uber busy with work sorry for late reply.
  9. at the rate things are going I wouldn't be surprised if GM/Ford starts getting outsourced to China.
  10. I have spinning gear covered just looking at the baitcasting gear for the job specific applications. From what I'm gathering any mh mh/f 6'-7'6" I'm gonna be golden. What rods do u use? Brand/etc.
  11. I stand 110% behind Spider Ultimate mono. Sinks like Fluoro almost zero stretch like braid and castability of Mono. You can't go wrong. I love it so much that if you read this and live in CT I will give you a spool! Lol Still dying to try Fluoro on a BC set up tho.
  12. Finally had time for the 2hr drive to Cabellas to pick up the Veritas Winch rod. Didn't buy it. Grabbed 4 cranks and 2 spinners instead Ok so while looking around I almost whipped out my Visa and put $3k on it then I realized I can't possibly make any smart decision with the whole kid in a candy store feeling I had. Also thought about how much I hate being a responsible adult lmaoo There's so many rods i see you all mention on a regular basis so I'm gonna name a few with hopes owners will respond their likes and dislikes then I'm gonna make a list of how many setups/jobs I want. Fenwick - forgot model Duckett - Magic something (not micro guide) St Croix - Rage G Loomis - SXX blue or something the 6' was $455 Shimano - Crucial ----- Ok here's what I want to do, I want 6 set ups. 4 for Bass 2 for Trout. My Trout gear is fine need the Bass stuff covered. The 4 Bass like this 2 spinning 2 Baitcast I have Spinning reels already and know which Baitcasters to get - 6'6"-7 M/F with low gear ratio reel for cranks - 7'+ with mod/high gear ratio reel for spinners and or cranks in heavy cover. For Spinning rods I have - 6'6" M/f I use currently for cranks, Worms, misc. - 6' ML/Moderate I use for spoons, plugs, and inline spinners. Basically always use 1/4-5/8 size stuff and I want to basically have. 1 rod for Worms 1 rod for cranks, divers 1 rod for Spinners, inline spinners 1 Rod for top water plugs, swimmers etc. HELPPPPPPP!!!! I'm sure whatever I buy is gonna be just fine. And ATTENTION LMG this will be 2 Stradics 2 Chronarchs lmaooo
  13. @OP Go with 2500 for all casting stuff, 3000 if you trolling lakes for trout/walleye. @iabass8 I'm jealous I would love to have a 1000 stradic in my arsenal.
  14. Anytime bro! I have other stuff I wanna buy over next few months but I def want a 5000FJ to replace my Penn Battle. What size do you want to get yours in?
  15. @sirsnookalot The most hardcore, tournament driven, top shelf gear Bass fisherman on this forum, I am equal to in the saltwater realm minus I don't own a saltwater boat lol So on that note I have used every mono and braid in salt. In freshwater a lot of the monos don't translate well and your cast will be like slinkys. I myself have found Spider Ultimate Mono, their average middle of the road line to be my all time favorite. Positives: - After the first 2-3 casts line memory is non existent. - Casts farther than any line I've tried with my go to lures and worms. - almost zero stretch, you would think they used their braid technology when they developed this line. - lower diameter than regular mono - great knot strength for any knot you throw at it Negatives: - lack of colors available - price, if you change frequently like me - terrible length selection. 1 spool will fill a 2500 reel up no prob but you'll have a lot left but not enough to fill a second spool in 4-8# range. I hate joining 2 lines together so the extra line is usually a waste unless my 1000 size reels need line. So there's some things to think about. Lol
  16. +1 for LMG Shimano!!! Wooooohooooo!!! Lol LETS GO TEAM SHIMANO! Lmaooooo Congrats on purchase! Let us know how you like it.
  17. Excellent Excellent Excellent reel! I own the CI4 2500 for fresh and my buddy has the 5000FJ for salt. I've used his here and there. No complaints at all. Great reels man! Hopefully you can get a killer deal on black friday or something.
  18. Anyone try the Macro Magic or White Ice series? If so how do you like it? Also, are their 'micro' guides ok for throwing light mono or more suitable for braid. Thanks in advance!
  19. Spinning: hold rod with right hand reel with left hand. Gonna be in the same boat as you next week lol Getting my first baitcast set up and just stickin with left hand retrieve. I couldn't ever imagine casting with my left.
  20. Lol lol lol I looked them up last night, only place I know locally that carries Abu is Cabellas, 2hr drive... If not this weekend maybe next I'll take a ride up to check em out. They run about $100 I could grab a Croix from my local shop for $120. Sooooo idk. Don't wanna jack the thread anymore than I have to lol
  21. LMG what do u recommend for 1/4-1oz crankbaits. I'm leaning towards a 7' M/F, this will be for the 201E. Don't forget this BCreel thing is new to me. I plan on doing 8-10# mono.
  22. All rods have a slight bend on the spine in the blank. When its assembled the rod should bend opposite of the guides. When you buy something that's mass produced in a factory in some sweatshop overseas, your rod is usually the end result. Some custom rod builders may say with newer technology worrying about the curve is a thing of the past. But if it is a thing of the past then why don't we see this problem on let's say a st croix rod. Assembling a rod give or take a few steps...: Locate bend Align reel seat facing up bend facing down Align guides to reel seat
