  1. Yes, there is a detailed topo map of the lake on line. You can print it for free, laminate, and take to the lake with you. I have fished every inch of the lake after about 8 rentals visits over the years. The north end has a feeder stream coming into the lake. I did very well snapping a wacky trick worms off the bottom and letting them settle back down, in a deep Lilly pad field. Caught good number, and good size here. Between the north section and the south section of the lake is a narrow cut with a deep drop-off. I have done well here with senkos in this area. On the east side there are the apartments with a big dock. I caught a big one under the dock. Open water a blue /chrome rattle trap was very good. The south east corner has a out flow area. There is current here and some nice senko fish. I have bank fished the entire west side of the lake later in the day and caught some quality bass. All catch and release, limited access, has kept the bass population in good shape. The topo map will help while fishing from the boat. All trips were different with numbers. The best day was about 35 bass for a half day and big fish was close to 8 pounds. Good luck if you go back, and let us know how you do.
  2. I too have fished Turkey Lake many times when taking a trip to Orlando. The boat rental is a great deal. I have caught a bunch of four up too eight pound bass in that lake. Glad you caught some nice bass.
  3. Where was it stolen from? What makes you suspect him.? What state was this in? Sounds like your going to have some solid proof. Getting it back by going to his house is a bad idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I have had two back surgeries over the years. You will know when it time to go under the knife. Until then, You have to break the cycle of back spasms, intense pain, and frustration. Naproxen and rest has done some good breaking the cycle. Pain killers did little to help me. In fact all they did was make me super constipated. Then the right exercise is important, once you break the cycle. For me it was just walking everyday. Exercise is super important in keeping you pain free
  5. I seriously doubt that bass would be that deep. Usually O2 levels drop off that deep. They will go wherever bait fish are, usually no deeper then the lakes thermocline level. Work the drop offs, especially drop-offs with vegetation close bye. During hot weather they will use the vegetation for shade from the intense sunlight, and plants are O2 producers.

    Wow that's a hog!
  7. I fish from both the boat, and bank fish 5 days a week. When bank fishing I never fish the same area twice in a row. I'm sure I could catch fish in the same spot but I'm blessed with so many little lakes surrounding my home I like to change up on different spots. It makes the fishing more interesting for me, and that's what it's all about. I'm sure fish are constantly changing spots throughout the day so new fish are always present. Try to find spots with a little current present. Culvert pipes, funnel points, and deep water drop offs are key spots especially in the heat of the summer. The changes I make are more for the fisherman not the fish.

I would just like to add that I would use a good quality Floro line for all my plastics. This helps with spooky fish, plus you can down size any weight on the line and get a more life like movement from the bait. Floro sinks naturally and allows the bait to flutter and glide as it drops slowly through the water column in an stimulating manner. This is perfect for deep clear water situations.
  9. I fish 300 days per year. I have caught at least 2000 this year.
  10. Classic old line! Change it and don't leave the rod in direct sunlight or hot places. I'm sure new quality line will solve your problems.
  11. Your making memories that will last way after your gone!
  12. Because I fish the Everglades and okeechobee I use 15 pound test floro. Not all floros act the same. I use 100 % Berkeley professional grade. I love it and have little problems. I keep it sprayed with line conditioner. I use it with all my plastics . Mono with top water, and braid for flipping.
  13. 4" Senko weightless with a EWG hook Texas rigged. Fish slow, let the Senko slowly flutter to the bottom, then snap off the bottom and let it flutter back down. Change up the cadence until you find a style they like.
  14. I have used the tube weights for twenty years. The weights designed to go in the tube are great but not easy to rig properly. I used a #1 or 2 Gama thin WGH wire hook. Worked great, but I don't throw them often.
  15. I would say a Senko type stickbait. Fish it weightless on the top with a side to side spook action. Dead stick with a slow wiggle threw the water column. Weight it with a slow bottom Crawl. Throw it in open water or the heaviest cover. Endless ways to present the bait Texas rigged.

    Mine is from Bean also!

I use a fishing hat with ear and neck flaps and I wet a sponge with cool water and put it under the hat. I recharge every 30 minutes if it's real hot. It does make a difference.
  18. Ditto with your comments. Its a real tragedy. Insanity and assault weapons is a terrible combination! God bless all involved.
  19. Reevaluate everything your doing including the workouts. I would shorten the fishing trips, roll cast shorter distances, and watch the hook sets. Then confer with a good orthopedic doctor. Good luck.
  20. I have fished it several times recently. The bite has been up and down and not consistant. The fish have been tight to cover and close to the sawgrass stems, and lilly pad stems. Soft plastics, Texas Rigged, with a light 1/32 bullet weight will work. fish it slow, if your having trouble getting them to bite. Watermelon Red in the sun, and Junebug if its cloudy. Either zoom flukes, senlo type baits, and trick worms should get you some bites. If in a Kayak, Lox has some of the largest gators in the state, especially way back where the bass boats can't get into. Some of these gators have never seen a boat or person. Stay in groups, if you go in deep.
  21. I use 100% floro in that situation but it's a little harder to handle, and expensive. If I were you I would use Trilene big game. Tough line, easy to use, and cheap. I would use clear.
  22. Find the right depth and then burn it below, through, or around the bait. Don't have to burn on the surface! They are obviously in a feeding mode or they would not be there. There is more then one way to get the job done. Opinions are like butts, everyone has one. Lol
  23. A silver and blue rattle trap burned through the pack.
  24. We often give too much credit to the bait we use. Regardless of what anyone says bass are not the brightest critters on earth. Bottom line is if you can put it in front of their face, they will often bite it. When things get tough, go too the bait you have confidence in, and enjoy throwing, and work the crap out of it. My go to bait is the 4" senko. I can fish it deep, fish it shallow, I can fish it fast, or I can fish it real slow. I can throw it weightless, or with different size weights depending on the wind. I can throw it the thickest stuff, or in open water. I can wacky rig it, Texas rig it, or Carolina rig it. I can flip it or pitch it using a spinning rod. It will catch fish of ALL sizes. If you throw it in front of a ten pounder, she will slam it just like a 12 inch worm. The key factor is placement, and targeting spots. There just is not one magic bait, there are just better fisherman that get it done with what they like to use. I used to be a top water guy and then turned to plastics. As a Devil Horse, Rapala guy, I enjoyed the top water explosions but was neglecting a vast amount of the water column. I turned to plastics and never regretted the change.
