I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SHIMANO PRODUCT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about the bad luck. I bought Citica about a year and eight months ago, and after I owned it for over a year the reel started getting noisy and rough like a bearing was going out or something. I e-mailed Shimano service dept. and the next day was told to send it back for repair at their cost. I did and within a week I received a brand new Citica free of charge and the guy told me if I ever had trouble with one of my Shimano reels, just to let them know. That is what I call good service, and the warranty was even out. It wouldn't hurt to contact them. Jim

the most H.P for a 14 foot jon boat
I bought a new Crestliner last year. It is a 14 footer with a 36 inch bottom and rivited. The guy at the boat shop said if it was rated for 20 horse power. He also said if I put a 40 horse or something like that on it that the extra torque would have the rivits worked loose and leaking in about six months. Jim

A question for those who know?
Thanks guys for the ideas. Two good days in a row in the same spot is probably pretty good. I guess the wind was the biggest factor. It's not hard to be humble when you fish is it? Ha! Jim

A question for those who know?
I live next to a 13 acre lake here in Western NC and I fish it a lot. Most of the time I fish from the bank due to time limitations. Since the weather has moderated a bit late the bite has picked up. Friday evening after work I went up to fish one of two coves on the lake. I took a spinner bait and an x-rap. I caught 5 fish mostly on the spinner bait. One was about 4 pounds. Yesterday I went to the same spot and did about the same thing. 1 bass and one nice bream on spinnerbait. Well today I thought I would try to have a repeat performance. Not a bite on anything anywhere, I mean nothing. The temperature was about the same, but the wind had died down a bit, but was intermittely breezy. I know that is just fishing but would like to hear some ideas why such a change. Thanks, Jim

Qaulity and Overkill
A person usually gets the product he pays for. I saw a Shimano commercial on TV this morning and a fisherman cast a bait with the Calais DC and handed it to another guy while the camera was on the reel. It cast till all the line spooled off without backlashing at all. That was awsome. If I had a lot of extra money to spend in this manner I probably would buy one or more, but the fishing I do which is for fun and relaxation do not feel I should spend this kind of money for my tackle. I have a couple of green Curados and a new Citica and a few others and I am tickled to have these. I am glad that those products are made and people buy them. The more that are produced and sold the more the technology trickles down to my level of fishing. Bass Resource Forums are great. Thanks to Glenn and all that are responsible for it. Jim

help with baitcast reel choice
Hey, Just before Christmas I bought a BPS combo with a Citica and a BPS extreme Woo Daves crankbait rod for $139. I have two of the old Curados that I like very much, but the more I use the Citica the better I like it. The quality seems to be equal. Good luck making a choice. Jim

New,New,New.
I am new to this board. I am pretty new to bass fishing. Best of all I bought a new Crestliner 14 ft. jon boat yesterday and a new Minn Kota 40lb. thrust motor today. I live on a thirteen acre lake here in NC and am really looking forward to a new experience. I have been enjoying reading the bass forums for few months now and have learned a lot from you guys and gals. I noticed that some of the posts have pictures of their children included. My wife and I think that is really important. What a great hobby to pass on to the next generation. Thanks to all. Jim
