  1. Anyone know any good spots? I wanna catch some peacock this week but all of them by my area died about 4 years ago. but my friend always talks about catching peacock, shows me pictures and I get jealous , I heard tamiami canal is good and he always talks about these pipes. Anyone know about these?
  2. My friend said it's a nice fishing lake and I'm planning to go tomorrow for a few hours. Are there any big bass in there or just small ones? And what did you have your success with?
  3. Images added to a gallery album owned by SnazzySenko in Fishing Albums
  4. Might go in a few weeks. Let's resurrect this thread.
  5. I live 2 minutes away from it so that's why I was wondering. I fish the Weston lakes when I go to my buddies house. Thanks anyway though!
  6. Once you get off I-75 onto Miami Gardens Drive it's the first left you make at a light. I believe its like 87th Avenue.
  7. Has anyone fished in the ponds they have there lately? My friends used to fish there and catch hawgs, but that was a few months ago and haven't heard of anything in a while. So anyone live there or something and have a fishing report?
  8. I hope their is a double digit one! That'd be awesome to catch! And I caught it on a Texas rigged watermelon red senko. He jumped right on as it was sinking. Put up a pretty good fight too.
  9. Caught this today in Weston, FL in Savannah with my buddy. Surprised the fish were active with the cold weather we had. I caught two others but they were less than a pound. Scale read at 4.15 lbs but I think my scale is a bit broken, gonna have to check by measuring some dumbells. What do you think she/he weighs? Edit: Just tested the scale and its off by .76 (which is a lot so I'm gonna buy a new one) so it's a nice 5 lb bass! I don't catch many of those in the areas I fish so it's huge to me!
  10. I read an article on a study done here in SoFlo about the supposed infestation of Snakeheads. What I am saying is what I read, so don't bash me about it. It said they are actually not harming the environment around them or infesting our waters. I'll try to find the article and link it here.
  11. Fished today as soon as the moon came up, caught two in about 15 minutes and had 3 other bites in a total of about 45 minutes in a local pond.
  12. Dark colors for senkos. Buzz baits and spinnerbaits are good on cloudy days.
  13. Holliday Park used to be one of the best places to fish. But now the waterways are flooded. They reach as deep as 16'. I've been there about 5 times, although it's fun to go out and venture into the glades it's also stressful most of the time, for me at least. I average 3-4 fish in about 4-5 hours. It can be tough there, especially this time of year. But if you do still want to go I suggest dark colored jigs, frogs during the early morning (upto 10:00 a.m.), and watermelon red or junebug senkos it's what I use when I catch. I've tried everything and nothing seems to produce more than these. I Texas rig the senkos and sometimes use shakey heads too. This time of year reel in VERY SLOW for about a second or two, stop, twitch a little, wait about 5 seconds, repeat. With shakey heads casts can be very long. If you do go, PM me with how you did. I went there about a month ago and caught 2 in 4 hours. Very agitating with the knowledge of how it used to be. Also be careful as some canals are overgrown. When you leave the dock keep going straight until you reach a left turn, follow that and you will find an attaching canal that go to the right. Go there. Fish that. If you don't produce go back to the main canal and keep going and fish the main canal.
  14. I might go in a few weeks. Is it going to worth or should I skip it and head some where else? I have a boat so any where is good as long as there is fish!
  15. Anyone been there in the past few weeks? If so, what did you use to catch and where and how? I've been there before but never really caught a lot. Only about 2 or three in 4 hours. So help me! Thanks!
  16. We launched from Lake Okeechobee Resort in Pahokee. And the other came within about 25-30 ft to us, and worst part he kept going without helping us.
  17. Thanks to everyone here, you guys are so nice and helpful!
  18. I've ordered a lot online, think that would be able to get some stuff back?
  19. Thanks Sam, unfortunately we weren't wearing it. I'm a good swimmer but my aunt not so much. We will definetly start wearing our pfd's on our next trip. As for the stuff, we tried our homeowners policy but we can't get anything back with proof of purchase. Oh we'll, at least we're okay.
  20. Thanks man. I'm going to pahokee, lake okeechobee outpost area which is on the southwest part of the lake. How deep is the average depth there?
  21. I'm heading up to lake okeechobee tomorrow for a day of fishing in my boat. Any tips on what baits or lures I should use, colors, worms, cranks, tubes, jigs, or grubs, or just go with live bait? Thanks.
  22. Oh! Thanks. Didn't even see those.
  23. So I'm new to bass fishing ( been doing it but not as something serious, but now I want to) and need a little help. Can someone explain to me bass fishing seasons and times like pre-spawn and stuff like that.
  24. I fished in Eastern Ohio last winter during January and I used white-gray crankbait with a diving depth of 4ft;(You might want to use 5-8ft diving depth) the bass were killing it (in winter terms). I then switched to a dropshot rig with a 6" Zoom Worm (Pumpkin colored) and i caught about 2 every day I was fishing. Just experiment with what you like or try using live shiners if it has to go there.
