  1. good point, but even that is nowhere near as taxing at a sports game.
  2. I doubt it because fishing is not very physical.
  3. I don't have one yet but I throw the 6" hudd which is in the same weight on e MH and it handles fine. Oh yeah, and get the floater.
  4. the 4" is tiny. Go for the 6" IMO. You will gain more confidence in it when you see the bites it produces. Dont think its too big, 1lbers will eat it.
  5. Everybody knows that when you lip your first bass you get bit by the bait monkey. He lives in their teeth.
  6. PowerTeam Lures Rage Tail *** Jigs Daiwa Takara- this reel is a beast. Light, tough, and $50. 3 years and its still going without a hitch. Non-fishing: Zero Tolerance Knives
  7. yeah in may's landing. Sorry, I should have said that.
  8. Pearl shellcrackers? I think those will be a killer bed fishing bait.
  9. good. Thanks for the quick answer.
  10. Is XT a dependable line? I have a 270yd spool of 20lb test that I want to use for smaller swimbaits on a MH rod- 1-3 oz. I don't want it to break, causing me to lose expensive baits or fish.
  11. gotcha. I guess its mainly for small crankbait trebles then. Did they give you a novacaine shot?
  12. Nice pig collection. There's a trick for painlessly removing a treble hook. Cut the split ring connecting the treble to the bait. Tie a loop of heavy line. Put the loop in the hook bend. Push the eye of the hook down hard. Have a buddy give the loop a sharp pop. The hook should come right out. Clean it and put a band-aid on it when you can.
  13. Anyone fish here? I went today and caught 3 pike and a perch on a jerkbait but no LMB or SMB. Any help is appreciated.
  14. Not trying to debate anything, just providing a different viewpoint. Swim jigs produce for me in the late spring when the hydrilla starts to really pop up. I fish a dirty jigs 3/8 oz swim jig with a 4" swimbait. It has a medium-heavy wire hook and a fairly stiff weedguard. I fish it on 50lb braid and a MH rod. That gear was necessary to pull fish out of the hydrilla. If I had used a light wire hook it would have bent out.
  15. Five Finger Death Punch- Lift Me Up
  16. A good place to start would be to get a few soft swimbaits and a hard swimbait. Get a couple 6" huddlestons-one ROF 5 and one ROF 12. Another good soft swimbait is the osprey tournament talon. A good all around hardbait would be a spro 6" bbz-1.
  17. This guy ate a live minnow in 20 feet of water....... he's been turned into fillets and will make a nice dinner. 18.5"
  18. There was an article about the K.C. plugs in a bassmaster and their site was advertised as the only place to get them. I doubt its a scam because they have an actual retail store in CA.
  19. I may end up getting the 7'11" H. Should I throw 65lb braid? I don't want any breakoffs and using mono for expensive swimbaits worries me.
  20. Rigging them right on a weighted hook is really hard unless you have the right size. A Moaner Hooks 6/0 weighted stroke'r is recommended. Personally, I prefer to fip and pitch them with a 1/4 oz weight and a 4/0 offset round bend worm hook.
  21. maybe...... I don't know what kind of bugs they are but the bluegill eat them.
  22. Bugs and tiny baitfish and shrimp hang out in the grass mats. Bluegill follow to get an easy meal, and bass follow the bluegill. To see if aquatic grass has life, grab a handful and sort through it. If there are little bugs you are fishing in the right place. That does not mean you cannot catch bass in lifeless weeds. They wll go into the weeds on a hot day with bluebird skies to get out of the sun. Put your frog in good spots where you usually catch bass and you will get one eventually. When you get a blowup, wait until you see your line moving and set the hook. I can guarantee that you will miss ish when you first start getting hits on frogs, but you will get better at waiting.
  23. For me its a little nymph under a bobber.
  24. my mistake, meant curado. Edited my post. The rod will be an okuma 7' 6" Heavy guide select big bait rod.
  25. Hey guy, I'm trying to decide on one of 3 reels for tossing swimbaits from 1-6 oz. on 25lb mono My 3 top picks: Daiwa Lexa 300 Shimano Curado 300 E Quantum EXO 300 PT Which one should I get? I'm leaning towards the lexa as it is only $200 but the exo is a lot lighter.
