I'm worried about the stainless steel guides on these, are they any good/braid friendly?

I can order the Laguna from the USA and it'd be cheaper than buying here. But the postage cost, it would be cheaper to buy the Aird here. So, I am figuring people say I should buy the Aird?

Okay I got reccomended the Laguna Baitcaster reel for my 7ft medium baitcaster rod. But I am looking at the Aird reel too. I can get both for $99 here in Australia. What have you guys had experience with and which do you recommend? What's the main difference between the Aird and Laguna apart from the number of bearings?

Thats me too. I try to have a natural colour and a bright colour for each lure.

I use backing myself. But I have tied it onto electrical tape.

I have always used snaps. Never ever had a problem.

I guess these won't be familiar to you. 2 sweep and one salmon trout from a local surf beach today. (Totally unrelated to the true trout/salmon.)

I do it. 3lb Fireline Crystal and 4lb leader. Or 8lb leader/8lb Spiderwire I have used before, but that was on 4lb+ river trout. I use Maxima Ultragreen or Berkley Vanish for leader.

That is one terrific fish! Are these just sea-run rainbow trout? Or a different species all together?
