  1. Some people will say yes, and others will say no. I personally feel they have a specific action that the other companies don't replicate, so I will say yes. The other companies, especially SPRO, make great products, too. I've had zero issues on durability with Lucky Craft, SPRO, or Live Target lures. Never used Jackall, but that's only because I haven't gotten around to it. I honestly lump Lucky Craft in the same price range as SPRO as they are usually only a few dollars more. Both fish great right out of the package. Live Target, I find, need some tuning to get them to run correctly.
  2. I use the spray sunscreen everywhere except my face. I use the sunscreen that comes in a stick form for that. It looks like a glue stick. The spray on my face was annoying because of my beard. I ended up with it dripping in my mouth, and it's not a pleasant taste at all.
  3. I picked up a px type r, and am blown away by it every time I am out on the water. I have no problems throwing a Zoom finesse worm weightless with it. Its pricey, I'll admit that, but you get what you pay for.
  4. I think they have a sale on many soft plastics, buy 3 get 1 free. Senkos, flukes, anything by Zoom, etc. Start with a worm and craw, and expand from there.
  5. I think it's the same as this. Double Fluke Rig / Donkey Rig / Tandem Rig:
  6. I just accomplished one of my goals and that was to finish well enough at the Ohio Bass Federation regionals to move on to the state tournament in October.
  7. No, but I'm usually pitching them instead of casting. Where are you shopping that they charge you $8 a pack? Not for nothing, but you're getting ripped off at that price.
  8. Zoom finesse worm in solid black. It's been ridiculous this year.
  9. I visit Port Clinton once a year. I always do well, but never like this. All of last week - regardless of the body of water - I was whacking them. This past weekend I fished the TBF regional tournament at West Branch & Milton and everyone was surprised by the number of fish caught. I've got a club tournament at Berlin this coming Sunday, and am hoping that the bite is still going strong.
  10. I will use a qtip to clean the guides. Also shows you if you have a bad spot on your guides insert if it pulls any cotton off.
  11. With the availability of the spray on sunscreen the concern of getting it on your hands is minimal. There are a lot of great options available.
  12. Spent the day out in Port Clinton fishing off the pier where the Jet Express leaves from and had a phenomenal day. I lost count after my 20th fish. Mostly LMB, but I did get a few smallies, a black crappie, and a massive sheephead. The water temps were around 53,and everything was working. Spinnerbait, rattle traps, crankbaits, and swim jigs. I'm still in shock about the amazing day I had.
  13. I have a 10 page CD binder, and put them in the sleeves.
  14. Braid: PowerPro, but I'm trying out the Seagaur smackdown this year and I'm liking it, too. Fluorocarbon: Seagaur Invisix. Mono: don't use it Copolymer: Yo-zuri hybrid, but I'm about to jump ship to Izorline.
  15. I was thinking this, too. I love the space monkey. Perhaps my favorite Rage Tail bait.
  16. Give it a try and see for yourself. I personally don't anymore as I didn't see any added benefit. If they're gonna hit a spinnerbait I think they're gonna hit it either way.
  17. Trokar tube hooks for Texas rigs.
  18. Mono and copolymer I will change as needed, or in the winter. Braid I will change every other year. Now with fluorocarbon line... That I will change several times throughout the season, and not just when the spool starts to get empty. I use FC on 90% of my gear, and while I may not need to change it I do. It's a confidence thing. If I have a bad overrun (read: birds nest) I will also change it. Kinks in FC are bad, and another point for failure.
  19. Joe Thomas, the left tackle for the Cleveland Browns loves fishing. He even bypassed attending the draft at Radio City Music hall the year he went with the 3rd overall pick to go fishing with his father on Lake Michigan.
  20. Use some KVD line conditioner, and you won't have that happen.
  21. Like others have stated.... watch the line. You may at times feel the tick, but more times than not it's almost unnoticeable. Good luck. Its not the most exciting way to fish, but it works. The senko is to bass what a candy bar is to people.
  22. If you can find Izorline give that a try.
  23. I stick with 1/2oz most of the time, but 3/8oz and 3/4oz see some action depending on the depth.
