No problems casting whatsoever. I've learned to set my brakes instead of feathering on a cast. The gloves are cut to naturally curve with the fingers instead of being flat. Very comfortable, and warm.

Fox Racing makes a great glove that is water resistant called the Antifreeze Glove. They're intended for winter motocross, but work very well and are not bulky.

Another good one that works in most any condition is a jitter bug. I start my mornings with a jitter bug or buzz bait.

I've tried several of the booyah pond magic spinners, but I'm not a huge fan of them. They produce,but I've had better luck with the square bill cranks, rat-l-traps's, and chatterbaits. Like bassjunkie said you don't need to downsize your lures unless the pond is really small. By small I'm talking that you can throw a rock across to the other side. Maybe try a compact spinner like War Eagle Screaming Eagle. They're a 1/2oz in the size of a 1/4oz.

Same here. My Fishing Advisor has helped me out plenty of times, but I still tend to stick with lures I'm comfortable with using even if I don't have a specific color.

I keep my soft plastics in the original bags, and after changing hard baits I'll pat them dry on my pants before putting them back.

I just started using a baitcaster in the middle of summer and I absolutely love it. It took some time to get used to it, but I fished wide open reservoirs for a few weeks of practice. I picked up a Lew's, slapped it on a Abu Garcia Veritas, and have barely touched my spinning rods since.

In windy conditions I will throw a Chatterbait 1/2oz size.

Thanks. I have some mepps inline spinner baits in a 1/2oz size for bass fishing that have worked for smallies in streams. Not my favorite things in the world. I guess I'm going to have to try them out in the spring.

I have a few of these from a walleye fishing trip this past summer. Has anyone used them for bass? Casting? Trolling? Thanks in advance.

When I fish some of the reserviors in my area the first thing I will tie on is a bladed jig like a chatterbait by z-man, or the booyah boogee bait.

I use a veritas fot my casting rod, and a st. Croix premier for my spinning rod. Both are awesome, but I love my veritas. My only regret is not getting the micro guides.

Thanks. Glad to be here. As far as a bass fishing club I have been thinking about getting involved. I sent an email to one today about their membership, but since I'm a non-boater I understand if they don't have an opening.

I was a Booyah guy until I picked up a War Eagle by suggestion from my local tackle shop. I'm all over their copper colors at the moment with the bubblegum colored skirt bringing me the best results to date. I also have done well with the Terminator T1 line in bluegill and perch pattern.

I've been having a lot of success with lures that have pink in them. Mainly I've been getting success with a War Eagle copper double willow blade with a "bubblegum" colored skirt. It hasn't failed me yet in the past 2 weeks.

I'm a spinnerbait and crankbait fan, but I really am trying to learn how to use jigs.

Hello everybody! I just got back into fishing this year after a week long stay in the hospital this past May for Crohns Disease. I used to go fishing as a teenager, but the reason I stopped escapes my memory now. My time on the water now is as therapeutic to my health as the medications that I am supposed to take for my Crohns Disease. How I came back around to fishing was on the third day of my stay in the hospital and my best friend had stopped in to visit me, and he had just gone fishing that morning. We started talking about the trips we took to a small creek in our neighborhood as a kid. The next four days I spent staring out the window vowing I would get back on the water. The day after my release from the hospital I drove to Cincinnati to visit my sister and upon walking through her door I told her to take me to the Bass Pro Shops. I walked out with a 7' Bass Pro Shops MedHvy, fast action spinning rod and a Pflueger Trion GX-7 reel, some hooks, a bobber, and my fishing license. My brother-in-law also surprised me with his fishing rods and a tacklebox. He hooked me up with a 7' St. Croix MedLight action spinning Rod with a Shimano reel. Somewhere during the summer I got to using spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and lipless crankbaits. Realizing that my gear wasn't quite cutting it for me I then soon moved up to a baitcaster. I got an Abu Garcia Veritas 7' MedHvy, fast action rod with a Lew's Speed Spool reel. I've completely fallen in love with fishing, and never go anywhere without my gear. I've been known to go fishing before work, during my lunch break, and after work - all in the same day. The joke around the office is that the days I sleep in are the weekdays, because I'm getting up early on the weekends to go fishing. I came across bassresource.com while searching for some information on how to use jigs. Now the site has become the first place I go to for any and all information for bass fishing.
