  1. I got my order several days ago and this line is GREAT! I have been playing around with it and tying different knots with it.
  2. I've experimented with trailers and didn't notice one way or another that they really improved the bite for me. To me a quality skirt is more important than a trailer. Just my opinion. I save my trailers, and recycled soft plastics, for jigs.
  3. You're safer using a site like ebay where these same lures are sold in lots of 10, 15, and so on. I can only imagine having to deal with identity theft and unauthorized charges from a site like that. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but at least I know I won't be dealing with a potential headache!
  4. Try this site for a pdf copy of your schematics. http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/index.php?cat=4
  5. I've only used the speed craws and rage tail, and of the two I prefer the rage tail.
  6. What do they do with the traded in reels and rods? Do they sell those for a big discount?
  7. I just ordered this one through the War Eagle website. I'll know come springtime if it was worth it. You get two in a package for under $10
  8. x2 I have the Veritas in a 7' and use it for pretty much everything except finesse presentations. You'll do just fine. It's a good rod.
  9. If you only fish spinnerbaits in the spring you're missing out. I used them throughout the summer and fall with great success. Chartreuse, white/chart, white for most water, but if it is really stained them go with a black or black/blue combo.
  10. That's a great deal! Where did you get these from?
  11. My personal best lmb was on an a sb with chartreuse blades. I fished it along some riprap in Lake Erie. Sadly I didn't check the knot and a few casts later it went flying into the water.
  12. I'm going to be starting up in a bass club this year as a coangler for the first time. I'm only going to bring three rods. A baitcaster 7' MH/F, a spinning rod, 7' H/F, and another spinning rod 7' M/F for finesse presentations. I am in the market for another baitcaster set up for flipping/pitching, but still weighing my options.
  13. This is fantastic! I've got a ton of these sitting around doing nothing.
  14. I pick some up from Dick's and use the on a booyah swim jig. I've also cut them in half and threw them on a spinnerbait as a trailer.
  15. Oh, and for lipless cranks you can't beat the Cotton Cordell super spot. They're $1.99,and come in some great colors.
  16. They're only for the crawfish. I just cleaned out one of the Dick's by me too. I got 6 in various colors and depths for under $20! I don't usually fish with crankbaits, but for the price I figured I'd mix them into my arsenal a bit more often. ....now to get myself a lure retriever.
  17. I ordered a 1lb spool of 10# in smoke from Wide Open Spaces. $24 + $5.95 shipping. I saw it on the site you listed, and Amazon, too. I went with Wide Open Spaces because I've done business with them before.
  18. That's about the regular price for this through several online retailers.
  19. Would a drop of light sewing machine oil work, or is reel oil a totally different creature altogether?
  20. Watch for sales and clearance items. Like others have said quality is better than quantity.
  21. I was in the same boat as you on these two, but the overwhelming positive reviews from members on this site made me go with the Yozuri Hybrid. I was also able to find a 1lb (5800 yards) spool of 10# in smoke color for about $30, so that pretty much sealed the deal for me.
  22. I've tried many brands and have found the War Eagle spinnerbaits to be the best for me. This spring I am going to try out some of the Komanchi spinnerbaits. They look AMAZING! As far as color goes you can't go wrong with what ww2farmer said to start off with - white and chartreuse, willow/colorado combo. For really stained water an all black one with a larger single colorado blade works best. For size I tend to stick with either a 3/8oz, or 1/2oz. Mainly with a 1/2oz since I mostly fish from shore and the extra weight let's me really toss it out into the drink. For really clear water I have some of the Booyah pond magic and Strike King mini shad. These last two are under $3 each so I picked up all of their colors.
  23. Summertime was just some boardshorts, a tshirt, baseball cap, and sunscreen. In the winter I wear my snowboarding gear. It's warm, waterproof, and doesn't prohibit my range of motion.
