  1. Give them a try! Like the rest. the Rage Tail lineup it's. great product. I was throwing one this weekend, and it makes a lot of commotion! I found it works best with a keel weighted 5/0 hook. IMHO the weighted hook helps to keep it from turning over on its back during the retrieve.
  2. My good friend is a firefighter, and suggested this product to me after complaining about my eyeglasses fogging up. http://www.defogitworks.com/ It really does work.
  3. according to this article he's used the Revo stx and the cardinal, but this was back in 2009. http://www.bassmaster.com/node/98779
  4. I fished most of last season with one setup, but have added to that as I felt limited in what I was doing. it has also been nice to not stop so often to change lures. it can be done, but I look at it like philips screwdrivers. you can usually get by with 1 size, but it's not always ideal.
  5. sorry about the multiple replies.
  6. using slack line and the tip of your rod at waist height make some quick downward twitches with the tip. at the pauses are when you can take up some of the line.

  10. is the wire arm bent? if it's not in proper alignment it can roll over.
  11. Hang in there. I've gone a handful of times this year and got skunked, but today my fortunes changed.
  12. I use 2 colors - Flesh and Merthiolate. I fish the TX rig around lilly pads, docks, and on those occasions when I don't know what else to throw.
  13. Smallies are what got me using chatterbaits to begin with. Catfish love them, too.
  14. Hey, TNBassin' try putting the trailer from the boogee bait on the zman chatterbaits. It'll kick like the karate kid.
  15. Congratulations on your reel. I also picked up my first Daiwa recently. I scored a Zillion 100SHLA and am in love with the performance. I became a fan for life after the first cast. Tight lines!
  16. I picked up a BPS Bionic Blade on sale to use with my Lew's speed spool. It was about $70. Not a bad rod at all. Otherwise, like everyone else has stated the Veritas and 13 Fish *** are solid choices.
  17. Oh, and the trailers are a must on this bait IMHO. I tried the havoc subwoofer after a suggestion in another post and love that as a trailer. Think of it as the evil child of a jig and a spinnerbait, and have fun with it.
  18. I've used the boogee bait, but I don't like the coiled wire shaft. It's supposed to keep the fish from throwing the hook, but I've lost more fish with this bait than any other. I prefer to use the zman chatterbaits in black/blue, white/red, and chartreuse. As far as the "how" I love to either yo yo it back, or as slow of a retrieve that I can while still feeling the thump it makes. It's especially effective around riprap and drop offs. If you get the zman chatterbaits make sure that you sharpen the hooks. They're rather dull out of the package.
  19. Go with a willow blade around grass. It'll slip through more easily than a Colorado blade.
  20. What's the benefit of not pegging? Sorry if that's an ignorant question. I just never thought of that as an option.
  21. I swear by the war eagle spinnerbaits! I got 2 of the Megastrike strike back spinnerbaits, but I have not used them. For jigs I grab up anything in a clearance bin since I throw them in areas where I don't expect to get them out of half the time. For plastics rage tail, zoom, and roboworm are my choices. I started playing around with the rage tail Anaconda, and can tell it's going to be a great bait to use!
  22. I use the tiniest split shot, and it's worked just fine for me.
  23. I got one after reading about them in a magazine, but after a few uses it is just sitting in my tackle box. The added surface does increase the vibration, but it also brings back more weeds/grass than a straight wire. I also noticed that it will turn on its side much more when burning it back. It will probably never see the light of day, and be a "loaner" when I'm out with a fishing buddy.
  24. Abu Garcia is a Swedish company, but all made in China.
