  1. You don't. You call the DNR and report his boat #. Confrontation can lead to bad results.
  2. It's called Luxottica. I saw the 20/20 special on it a few years ago.
  3. North Face doesn't have the same quality as Columbia for the items in the same price point, IMHO. North Face gets better in the high end technical GEAR, but they have really catered to the soccer mom/fashion crowd with the jackets and fleece over the last few years. I really like the Columbia PFG line, and also the Omni-heat coats with the shiny silver lining.
  4. I just bought a pack of the craw d'oeuvre and am excited to try them. The hog tonic is some potent stuff!
  5. I got to hold one at my local tackle shop, and I don't see any issues with the size of the reel. It seems like a really nice product. The type-r specs seem like it will put it right in line with the basic zillion, but I may be way off on that. I had also heard that the rods are amazing for the price as mentioned above. I think Daiwa is doing the right thing with this new lineup.
  6. My favorite is a daiwa zillion on a 6'6" mh/f Duckett. It can do everything I need except dropshot. For that I'm eyeing a daiwa pixy.
  7. When I saw the title of the post I knew this was going to be about it breaking. A+ for the effort, but the science just isn't there yet in terms of the stresses of fishing for a product like this.
  8. Online I buy from tackle warehouse, BPS, and overstock bait. Locally, I have l a n d big fish & an amazing place called Rodmaker's Shop. Occasionally I'll check out DSG and Gander Mountain for their sales.
  9. I've abused mine for 2 years. No issues whatsoever.
  10. Wouldn't think twice about it at that price.
  11. The cost for the BPS 100mph gear is very reasonable for what you're buying. Compare the cost against the Simms gear, and you'll see what I mean. Frog Toggs has some good stuff, too. $60 for the jacket. I also like Columbia for their PFG line.
  12. I picked one up at bass pro shop during the reel trade in. They were marked down to $199,and I got another $20 off that. Every time I use it I regret not buying the other one they had in stock. Love my zillion!
  13. I was using 20# FC and found myself getting a lot of backlashes. I am now using 12#,and the issues have eliminated themselves. You do have to monkey with the reels settings, but in the end it's worth it.
  14. I have the lew's speed spool and the revo s and would suggest a speed spool. Both are good, but the lew's feels smoother and you can use the leftover money for some good fishing line.
  15. I never met a rooster tail I didn't snag and lose. LOL! They're fun, but hands down my most lost lure ever.
  16. I was using these, but have gone back to the zman chatterbait. The flexible shaft did me no favors on the hooksets.
  17. Buy a few cheap jigs to start with. You'll get them snagged as a beginner. The bitsy bug by strike king is a good choice. Usually they cost $2.
  18. Consider it the cost of doing business. Being upset about losing lures is like being mad at your car for using gas while you drive. It's going to happen. I call lost lures "offerings" to the fishing gods.
  19. I've been having so much fun fishing the poison color I don't even bring other frogs with me anymore.
  20. This is the same range I currently have on my baitcasters.
  21. The lew's speed spool is the $99 model, so the next revo stx will be your better option.
  22. Here's a link good video from Boyd Duckett.
