*** Frog
I was going to pick up a few more this morning like I'd plan on doing, but last night I got the 70 size in Poison. The thing looks sweet! What colors work best for you? I still want to get a few more. Any suggestions?

Favorite Havoc Bait???
Pit boss and craw fatty.

All Ohio Fishing
If any of you can get out on Lake Erie, specifically Avon point, the smallies are biting. They're good sized, too. We were pulling in 4# fish on average. Tight lines.

Baitcaster Screeching?
Never use grease on your bearings! Only use oil! Grease is for gears only on fishing equipment.

Help Me Gain Confidence In The Senko
Senkos are like candy bars for bass! You just have to learn to let them sit. I always had trouble with throwing them out and wanting to start retrieving it, but once I realized that if I let it sink and sit for a minute or two I would start getting strikes it made sense. I almost exclusively throw a senko when fishing around docks now.

*** Frog
I was a Koppers guy until I got the River2Sea spittin' wa frog. I haven't touched my Koppers since!

Fluorocarbon Rookie Needs Advice
KVD! Use the knot you're most comfortable tying, but use lots of spit & cinch slowly.

Great Customer Service Is Really A Difference Maker!
I've read several posts about people getting fantastic customer service from companies like Pure Fishing, Shimano, Mega Strike, etc and today I have to add Duckett to that list. I finally got around to trying to register the two rods I bought in March and June of this year. (I know... bad job on me) I couldn't find one of the registration cards, so I went to their site and sent a message inquiring about getting one to complete. Seeing that it was Saturday afternoon I didn't expect a reply until Monday. About 5 minutes later I got a response back from somebody named Sean from his iPhone. Even better was Sean asked me for the model #'s, where and when I bought them, and said he would take care of the registration process for me. These little things a company will do are what keeps me a customer for life. I see a pattern of phenomenal service in the fishing industry.

Suffix 832???
I've used both PP and 832,and I prefer the 832 because it seems to hold up better against the zebra mussels I have to deal with in Lake Erie. Both are good braided lines though. The 832 is a bit noisier like rockchalk06 says, but I'm OK with that.

R2S Spittin' Wa
I got the 70 size in leopard color. I'll be doing what you did and getting some other colors and sizes, too. I've been really happy with River2Sea lures in general. The Ish Monroe squarebill cranks are my favorite, and I have the tango prop bait to try out still.

I May Never Cast Again
From shore I cast. From the boat I pitch/flip.

R2S Spittin' Wa
I picked one up about a month ago and it's become my favorite frog. I feel my hookup ratio is better with the spittin' wa than other frogs I've used.

Spinning Reels With Lures.
I hardly ever use a steady retrieve. No bait fish I can think of has a constant steady movement.

Scatter Rap Spiraling On Retrieve
After a few uses I gave away my 2 scatter raps to a kid who was fishing nearby at the time. I thought they were junk.

1St Fishing Tournament Any Tipes?
Don't cast ahead of the windshield. That was the #1 lesson I learned as a non boater fishing in a tournament.

All Ohio Fishing
I just had my club tournament out of Edgewater on Sunday, and it was a tough day. I only caught sheephead and rock bass. Nobody else had a great day either. Tough day on the big lake.

Which Duckett For Dual Purpose?
Nope. Never seen that and I use 65lbs PowerPro braid. I never use a leader either as I'm either fishing a frog, or pitching into heavy wood. The waters I fish are stained, so I'm okay with tying right to the lure. Braid in general will lose its color fairly quickly. I also have a veritas with regular guides that the braid is turning white from green. That's just what braid does.

Which Duckett For Dual Purpose?
I own several and use them 3 to 4 times a week, plus the tournaments I fish and have never had a problem with anything you've stated. Many of the guys in my club have started to use them and love them, too. Try being more specific with your details? Guides can fall out of any rod at any time. That's why you've got a 20 year warranty with your Duckett. As far as the OP, buy the rod with confidence. At the price you're getting I wish you could buy 2 as well. That's a great price! I started with the 7'3" MH as a dual purpose similar to what you are looking for, but if you're fishing Guntersville I would get the H. That's some thick slop down there!

Is There Ever A Time Senkos Won't Catch Fish?
Think of a senko as a candy bar for bass. Even if they're not hungry they'll still check it out.

When Do You Consider A Day Of Fishing A "good" Day Of Fishing?
Agreed!

Bank Fishing..
I throw a frisbee in the front yard, take 20 paces back, and work on hitting the target. That's the best way to practice I've found.
-
Bank Fishing..
Once I learned how to pitch I stopped bringing a spinning rod with me on shore bound fishing trips. Squarebill crankbaits are another good option to have with you, too, but I think that Texas rigged plastics (with or without a weight) is the best method for shore fishing - IMHO.

All Ohio Fishing
We're not limited to the Cleveland harbor, and we may make a run to Vermillion after we fish the reefs made from the old Browns stadium.

All Ohio Fishing
Literally just got a text from my buddy about going to Mogadore this weekend. Nice little lake for a peaceful day trip, and you can rent a electric Jon boat for day - $65. I really like this lake as it has a great mixture of areas to fish. SE corner is full of lily pads, and is great for frogging. There's a lot of shoreline for pitching wood, and there a great area between two islands that is perfect for crankbaits. The perch fishing is supposed to be fantastic to as most people I run by are there for that. I'll let you know how it was.

All Ohio Fishing
It was some tough fishing yesterday at Mosquito Lake. It took me 8 hours to figure out a pattern, and finished in the back end of the event with only 1 keeper @ 1.17lbs. I've got my last club tournament on August 11th out of Edgewater State Park. I'm looking forward to dragging tubes for bronzebacks.
