My favorite color is bluegill...or tennesse shad. Down here in Ga 85% of the bass source of food is brim/bluegill. I use to fish shallow cranks with 10lbs fluro..but then I learned that the heavier lbs test got them down to 4-5ft so I started fishing with 17lbs test..sometimes 20lbs tatsu FC. want go lower than 15lbs FC. I use a 5:3.1 baitcaster or a 6:3 depends on the fish and what time of year. Jay White

I was using a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 with 12 lbs test line....i normally wouldnt fish this with big swimbaits...so i switched to the Shimano Calcuuta D with 80lbs...backlash is still there

I've been casting low profile baitcasters for years, I got my first one when I was 6 years old. A decade later I havent picked up a Spincaster nor spinning gear, Love a baitcaster. Im getting into heavy stuff like big swim baits. I started looking and I borrowed one from a Older Gentlemen and i cant cast that thing worth a flip. It doesnt necessarily have any brakes to me. Maybe its just me...I can cast any low profile but when I went to a round I just can figure out where to put my thumb. I've put it on the side of the spool wall. Ive put my thumb right down the middle. Nothing....

Hello ladies and gents, Im looking at getting a new reel or rod the next pay check around. My price range is 130 for either one. I tried the Ethos and its a great rod dont get me wrong but thats my tourney rod and I dont like fishing with it if im not fishing a tourney. I need a new reel, the one that was given to me was a bass Pro shops Tourney Special...it feels rather cheap and I put it on my nice set up. I honestly havent fished with yet but only casting around in the yard. I dont think its going to hang up at all...now u may say that ive answered my own question but...to think that it may hold up I could go get a rod. I would just like you guys to put some insight into this for me please. I'm looking at some Shimano's, i believe the Citca and the one below that, that cost about 90 bucks looks decent. Ive also looked at the Lew's Laser MG speed spool. If i decided to get a rod it would be for fishing everything from a spinnerbait, to a buzzbait. Thanks guys

Ur talking about a braid....we talking about FC. Braid floats, and doesnt sink...the only time I use braid is for fishing jigs in heavy cover, frog/topwater. FC is better around rocks way better. We could sit here and tlk for hours about which is better, FC is used almost exclusively by every one...there is a time where Braid is needed though

I bought some of this in 20 lbs test caught it on sale for 54 bucks...i love its not to bad...do any of you guys like this line???

Couldnt find what I was looking for on it ,but compared to a IM6, IM7, IM8 how sensitive is it??? I plan to get the 7' MH version I like it and it is very light....If you could help me with anything Id much appreciate it.
