  1. Not saying they dont work but Ive never caught a largemouth on a pink worm. THat being said most of the water i fish is a little stained.
  2. Yes good tips. I generally like longer rods from fishing from the shore as I can cast out farther? Maybe Im incorrect on this statement. For my all purpose set up I had a 7'2" MH fast tip using a 6.3:1 gear ratio real and 14-16 test fluro carbon line.
  3. I know some guys change there lines often. I dont. I change my every season which i still think is too soon as it sits in the shade cool area. I only use flurocarbon and braided line now. I bought a spool of this stuff when I was in AL fishing for crappie. First time I used it everything went fine. Second time I used it every cast i made my lures went flying. THen I would have to push my line through the rods again re ty and cast same thing. Ive only used this line once but didnt have this issues. I checked my rod all guides are in great shape. Jay
  4. for me a jig and trailer becuase Ive cost most fish on that and the texas rig worm because I have been fishing with it the longest. Im talking about one with a curly tail
  5. Yes I do have to admit i wouldnt have not been able to do what I did if it wasnt for the sunglasses. I could barely see my flurocarbon line
  6. Figured i need something that would be a lot more sensitive for sure.
  7. Caught this fish on a weightless worm i was fishing in very shallow water like less then 1' of water. I probably should swithc my gear but i was using a 7.1:1 gear ratio reel with 16 lbs Sunline Sniper FC line wih a 7'6" medium heavy fast rod. What do you guys think? I need a more sensitive rod for something like that. I really miss my im7 rod and real combo
  8. Before I stopped using mono and it was a great line. After I fished a dirty pond i took the old line off.
  9. Thats pretty neat for sure
  10. That lake is very clear but yes I have had some great blessing rather than luck on my part. Ive got them jig fishing, carolina rig, texas rig. Try to keep the bait as natural looking as possible. I exclusively use flurocarbon only at that lake

  16. I bought some Sniper...still need to decide one a braid thinking i may with suffix or powerpro
  17. What line are you guys using for the most part. I dont have time to order anything, as I plan to go fishing this weekend...and will pick stuff up tomorrow if now today. Most likely at my local Academy, Walmart, local Chucks Bait & Tackle. Just need advice on a good fluro carbon...ive only used like three; Viscious....low down was knot strength wasnt to great. Berkley Vanish Flurocarbon....that stuff sucks... Seaguar Invizx too much stretch...and I noticed a decrease in weakness of line after fishing it in reallly muddy water. What would you guys suggest
  18. Im fishing a local lake and dont have access to a boat but still can fish off the shore. The bottom of the lake has a bunch of alagae. So I figured shallow crankbaits are out...even jigs, especially football jigs...usually when I fish up here I throw plastics. I wanted to try to get away from that....what size spinnerbait would you guys suggest? I'm thinking about trying some topewater too Thanks Jay
  19. What would you be throwing this time.of year? Not quote that time to cool off but it soon will be getting there. I thought about just pitching and flipping plastics...other suggestions?
  20. Which do you prefer...I'm taking inviz off my baitcasters. I fished in some stained water and that line became crap. Won't fish with it again. Looking for some other kind of line
  21. I use 40-50 lbs PP for lipless or shallow running cranks with a Abu Garcia Winch 7'6" and paired with a winch reel.
  22. Power pro vs 832 I've never used 832 but pp I have but I'm wanting to try something new
  23. I'm use to fishing moving baits...but this pond that I plan on going to is packed with lily pads and weeds..,.so. I lnow punching flipping and top water is going to be key. I'm wondering how to fish the frog...or how YOU guys fish the frog. Thanks Jay
