  1. I hear ya man. I have also lost countless fish on a shaky head setup. I was afraid to set the hook on smaller flouro. Moved to braid to flouro leader and ZINGA fish on!
  2. Nope they aren't. I have repaired them though.
  3. Way to give it another shot Mega! I say you don't use a phillips head when a flat head is what you need. BUT there are different sized flat heads. A lure is nothing but a tool for the job! Sometimes the same type of tool just doesn't get the job done!
  4. They do "look" look like them. They also look like the sweet beaver. The appendages are different and they will have more more action. Looking like and performing alike are two different things.
  5. Time will tell on the hollow standing up to the vicious strikes. The problem for me is after a few good fish my frogs take on water. I interested to find out how this frog holds up to that test. Let us know please. Great review and welcome to the forum!
  6. I agree with Jeff. Look at the setup first. Take a file to that hook. I have had the same problem with the wild eye. The hooks IMO aren't the greatest. Then adjust your drag and after the initial hook up, give it a good pump or 2 to get the hook driven home. The toads have a tougher lip! Good luck man!
  7. x2 Please be a little more specific.
  8. Nice. I'm going with 6.2 and 4.4
  9. I haven't use *** but I do have some Iobee frogs that I had to repair. It isn't cool if out the the box they take on water though.
  10. I'll use it for t-rigging, jig trailer, jika rig, and punching. The beaver style baits are my favorite plastic to throw. I'm glad Rage finally added one to the lineup. I gave Rage a whole season and the brand proved to me that it flat out catches fish! So I have replaced a lot of my other plastics with Rage.
  11. I've caught Crappie with 1/2oz spinnerbaits. One time while swimming a Rage Shellcracker through a tree top a one pound Crappie nailed it. If the fish are hungry enough they'll eat anything. With smaller baits, you'll get more but smaller fish.
  12. My suggestion is to watch bassresource's videos. They have a tremendous amount of info on all types of baits and how to fish them. They just posted a video a few weeks ago on finding fish on your lake. Think outside the box and you'll catch more fish.
  13. The hollow body frog all day long.
  14. He isn't wrong. If Triton or Vicious want to pony up money to be official sponsors of MLF they can. It doesn't have anything to do with Boyd's sponsors. Triton and Vicious pay Boyd. They don't pay MLF.
  15. I'm so ready for these baits!
  16. Great looking baits! My favorite bluegill imitation is Sieberts. It has been killer for me the last 2 years. Shoot him a PM. If he can he will tie up some patterns that you're thinking. If I'm not mistaken that is how the bleeding shad swim jig came about.
  17. Scroungers my friend. SCROUNGERS! lol
  18. I believe you are talking about the Oklahoma blade? http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/specialty-spinner-blades/039910000008.aspx
  19. I don't give a rats ass what charts or Dr's say. I'm 6'1 and if I weighed that I'd look more sick than healthy. I look back and at 5'11 when I was a freshman I weighed 180ish. I looked like death warmed over! I'm going for the 230 to 240 range. I don't care what they think and I don't care what I look like. It is all about how I feel!
  20. BPS cranking stick or a powell.
  21. Of course it is a competition. Because it is invite only doesn't mean it isn't a competition. I like it and I think it is 100% real. What makes the show is the pressure that the live leader board put on the competitors. You know it is nerve racking! The technique show on the other hand is questionable. Ike for instance pimping the Molix over the vibrating jig he was using. But that is nothing different than any other pro pushing their product.
  22. I'd say which ever one is closer to 26" to 28" per turn.
  23. I have this binder that used to be made by Falcon. It is an awesome binder for bankbeaters or co-angling. Plano purchased the rights to make the FTO from Falcon. Plano makes the binder now with a different color scheme. http://www.great-lakes.org/graphics-2/Falcon/Rev-01-12-09/6-FTO-1108BIG.jpg
  24. This can happen with all crank baits. It could be that you're reeling to fast. Or a combination of things. For instance. Trolling motor on high and you cast behind the centerline of the boat. When you are finishing your retrieve the boat passes the bait and you almost wind up trolling the bait and reeling at the same time. Sorry if I was confusing.
