  1. Nothing nasty about swamps:
  2. @Team9nine: Another beauty! I treasure six-pounders. I don't see many of them up north. Thanks for the water photo. I love those!
  3. @IYAOYAS: It's a beautiful bass!
  4. This makes sense, Mickey.
  5. @Fishlegs:
  6. I know!!!!!! And I look out the window and still see ice. Help, Dwight, help! Set up some fans in Florida and aim them north. I beg ya!
  7. If that's the way it works, I'm going dink fishing too!
  8. @Bluebasser86: Considering you catch the thickest bass at Bass Resource, that was a weird trip. At least the rainbow represented
  9. I fished for walleyes, smallies, and muskies for decades, but a couple years ago, I started fishing for largemouth. As a kid, I'd caught largemouth in farm ponds, so fingers crossed I can catch them again in 2025. I fish from a canoe and like to fish early. I bought a lure called a Whopper Plopper. Fingers crossed it'll catch some bass! I also plan to cast a Popper. If there were lures called a Dropper, Schmopper Flopper, and a Clopper, I'd buy those too. They call me Swampy. Try to guess why! P. S. - If this post is too goofy for Bass Resource, feel free to delete it. I'll understand.
  10. @J._Bricker: Great, just great! Now I have three reasons to be jelly: 1. Your warm weather. 2. Your big bass. 3. You were full of jelly!
  11. When I caught muskies, if we had a lukewarm musky, we'd leave the area and then circle back after 20 minutes to an hour. Do any of you do that when a bass has hit? I don't because I'm paddling, but those of you with engines could easily do this musky trick.
  12. Gosh, it sounds perfect!
  13. I'm glad PapaJoe raised the surface lure miss. You guys know I fish a LOT of surface lures and if a bass misses a surface lure, but tastes steel, I'm done. No second cast. Certainly no third cast. I just mosey.
  14. Then I'm going too try it too, Mike. Thanks!
  15. @J._Bricker: Nice bass, but I couldn't take my eyes off your outerwear. I see an undershirt, a hoody, and a jacket. And it's 71 degrees! If you came to Maine, I think you'd have to wear five sleeping bags. I'm not complaining. I'm as jelly as Smuckers...both about the bass and that warm breeze.
  16. ^This^ might have been me. I'm a caring person, so when I see a car parked way off by itself, I figure it's a lonely outcast, so I park next to it so it'll have a friend.
  17. My approach is KISS: Keep it simple, Swampy! Interesting.
  18. Yeah, but he got to fish for 33 years. Plus, 60K is more than I ever made and I didn't get to fish.
  19. I'll sling a wacky worm or fluke if there's a hit and miss. Something quieter and slower.
  20. Like the guys above, I start with Google Earth, but I use some of the Google Earth features, like old images. I dial back the clock to see the weed growth and dissipation through the seasons. I also spot rocks and laydowns, which help me formulate my plan. The history feature also lets me spot boats that might have been fishing that body of water on that day, which gives me an indication over time of usage, and tells me how developed a shoreline is. I also use the measuring feature to have a clear idea of how wide a stream or bay are.
  21. It's tricky for me too. Big bass are wise.
  22. 12-13 pound PB. 40 pound bags. Decades of experience. I believe you, Catt...up to a point. I'm not going to cast a chicken nugget.
  23. I caught my PB last spring on a black and silver Keitech on an underspin. She was prespawn. I caught some other fine prespawn bass on the same lure in 2024.
  24. "Instagram nfluencers with a million or more followers can earn between $10,000 and over $1 million per post. A YouTube channel with 1 million subscribers can earn between $10,000 and $100,000 per month from AdSense alone. However, the exact amount depends on several factors, including video performance, audience retention, and brand deals."
  25. Tommy, thanks for keeping us in the loop. Still praying.
