  1. Agree with the others. This should cover everything. Try to stay away from fishing to vastly different baits in terms of speed of retrieve. As mentioned a slow Jig and fast crankbait are hard to do side by side. Your best bet would be to cover the area with the other 3 and if you are sure there are fish there slow down with a few slow bottom dwelling baits (jig, t-rigged craw, punch rig etc.) as the day progresses. Good luck.
  2. 7' MH/F is a good all purpose rod. I tend to use my 7'M/F for most application though so I would recommend that.
  3. For the bank or kayaking ... needle nose pliers scissors ruler scale flashlight Phone Megastrike JJ's Not sure those last 2 count as tools but I still don't leave home without it.
  4. x2 I use EWG's from 1/0 to 5/0 for everything except punching. For that I prefer a flipping hook with the keeper.
  5. My 7 combos vary from tournament to tournament but if I had to put an "all star" lineup that I can use anywhere here is what it would be. These are my confidence baits 1 - 7'6" Heavy Flippin Stick - pegged T-Rig, heavy sinker and a rage craw, beaver or otherwise 2 - 7' MedHeavy - Jig (all purpose - could use for just about anything) 3 - 7' Medium - Spinnerbait, Chatterbait, cranks etc. (another all purpose) 4 - 6'6" MediumHeavy - Topwater - Sexy Dawg 5 - 6'6" MH Spinning - Wacky Senko 6 - 7' Med Spinning - Mojo Rig 7 - 6'9" Med LIght - Drop Shot
  6. Looks like Sproles will be back for their next game. They have a bye next weekend. I can't stand the Eagles and man was that game painful for me to watch. Especially when Cruz went out. Just utterly painful. Compound that with a dominant performance for Dallas against the Seahawks and I had the lowest of lows this football week. Go Giants ?!?!
  7. Braid: Seaguar Smackdown (15lb spinning, 50+ for flip n pitch) Mono: Seaguar Senshi (15lb topwater rod) Fluoro: Seaguar InvizX (6lb - 15lb - all other rods.)
  8. My last tournament was a one dayer and it rained all day long. My partner and I killed them on spinnerbaits primarily. Spinning just fast enough to tick the weeds. Even more effective when it was a bit windy. Other effective lures was a brush hog just soaking at the bottom of bridge pilings or weeds. Single handedly culled two fish doing that.
  9. Seaguar Senshi 12-15lb for my topwater
  10. This ... It takes a little practice. I ended up with fatigue when working a Zara Spook as well and once I began working my arms more and wrist less it became easier to manage. It does take time though ...

Not sure how odd it is but wacky rigging a fluke bait has caught me some decent fish. Emulates a dying fish on the fall.
  12. R.I.P RM.
  13. The way I look at this question is to answer the following ... If I were to go out with a single rod to fish anywhere what would it be. For me it's a 6'6" MH Spinning rod. Paired up with 15lb braid and various size leader material I can do pretty much everything with it. Is it "ideal" for all ... no ... but it will get the job done for me.
  14. Yes ... I was paired up with someone in a tournament which was fishing shallow pads, weeds and such. He used a spoon to fish the area and caught bass like mad. I couldn't buy a bite with everything else I threw at them. It was nuts.
  15. Great video ... fun to watch the video. Thanks for sharing.
  16. PB Smallmouth - 7'M Spinning - Shakey head and mag shakey worm PM Largemouth - 7'M Spinning - Drop shot
  17. Had the carp thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I struggled to get any kind of bite from the bank. Wen't to a ledge which drops pretty deep. After trying a ton of things I resorted to a shakey head and worm. Within moments of hitting the bottom something struck and it took me forever to get it up. I swore it was a monster bass. Turned into a huge carp. So excited and disappointed at the same time. LOL
  18. I so wish there was a "dislike you" button right now. So jealous ... LOL
  19. I tend to get out when I can at this point. I am going to try my kayak out this Saturday. In the am it's going to be in the 50's with a high of 61. I also have one more tournament left at the end of October.
  20. The best way to look at it is based on conditions. If bottom contact is your need then either would suffice as long as you can successfully achieve bottom contact. Where the Mojo rig differs for me is when I want a bait working through grass. The lighter weight allows it to work through the weeds easier than a Mojo rig. IMO the Mojo is finesse and relatively shallow - light line, lighter weight, light wire hooks and finesse baits. Finesse worms for example. Heaviest I would throw on a Mojo is 1/4oz Carolina is for deeper waters or solid bottom contact - bigger baits, bigger line, bigger hooks, bigger weight etc. - 7" - 10" Power Worm for example. Lightest I would throw on a Carolina is 1/2 oz. Hope this helps.
