  1. I probably cast one handed 90% of the time. I've never felt like I was going to lose grip of the rod. Side arm roll cast feels way more natural to me than casting two handed. I will use two hands when I really want to get some distance though.
  2. It happens to all of us from time to time. I have had a great year so far but the last time I went out to this small lake close to my house I got skunked. I fished everything on the lake and threw my entire tackle box at em. Very frustrating but that's why I like fishing. I like things that are challenging so when you do succeed you get that much more enjoyment out of it. Better luck next time.
  3. great job!!! good to see new young fishermen getting hooked on the sport
  4. nice fish. I will take those all day long
  5. Congrats man that's a beast....oh yeah and GO HEELS!!!
  6. I've always used it for all tecniques and it works fine...I'm gonna start trying flouro and braid in the near future, so I guess I will just use mono for my topwaters but you can use it for anything.
  7. the one in my pic was 22 inches and about the same girth. It weighed in at 5lbs 1oz so I would say right around 5 pounds. Good fish!!
  8. dang dude that's better than my entire 2014...good job
  9. I have a couple of each and I have noticed that I usually reach for the Lew's more often than not. They are very smooth and were easy to get dialed in. Can't remember the last time I had a backlash on either of my Lew's reels. Plus they are much easier on the wallet. I would highly recommend them.
  10. You just have to take her with you. All it will take is one fish on and she will be hooked. My wife now has her own rods and reels that she bought herself. It's always good to have things that you enjoy doing together. And if she's going with you she can't exactly complain about the money being spent...worked for me
  11. I feel you brother...today should have been a perfect day to catch em but no luck at all. Spoke to 3 or 4 more guys on the lake and nothing. That's why they call it fishing and not catching I guess. Sometimes they just don't do what they are "supposed" to
  12. a folding lawn chair and half a concrete cinderblock on back to back days with a jig. Thought I had some big uns.
  13. Congrats on your new PB!!! I have also beaten my previous PB twice this year already...nothing like setting that hook and knowing you got a big one on the other end of the line.
  14. Major League Fishing on the Outdoor Channel. I really enjoy that format.
  15. My daughter bought me a "lucky" fishing hat Christmas before last. I have not been skunked since i started wearing it and caught my 2 best largemouth bass with it on. Gotta stick with it. Why risk it?
  16. I'm almost always beating the banks. Love to power fish but probably have better luck when I slow down with a jig or a worm in shallow cover.
  17. senkos or zoom lizards
  18. looks like you had a pretty good 2012
  19. Nice fish. <-----there's mine. 5lbs. 1oz.
  20. I probably spend about $200-$300 a year on lures and soft plastics. I also usually buy one new rod and reel around Christmas each year. That's not too bad, right?
  21. When fishing with any trebile hook baits, always assume the fish will give one more good shake as you try to lip him. Use caution and don't get complacent. It only takes one to turn a great day of fishing into a trip to the ER.
  22. Fun Relaxing Anticipation Quality Time
