2013 Improvements
Yup! Drop shotting is on my list! Also I hate to admit it and call myself a bass fisherman... But...the the other thing on my list is learn to fish a spinnerbait more, and better. I hardly ever use one So those are on my list this year.

Round 2 Of Lunch Time Bassn'
just ole chunk and reel straight in about medium speed, nothing special, we were just about to call it quits, the crappie being the only thing caught so far on the lipless crankbait, then boom missed a bite, then boom boom caught those two and then it was time to go back to work.

Round 2 Of Lunch Time Bassn'
There not the biggest in the world, but any bass i catch in January i consider a victory! Both came off of Baby Bass Fluke on a scrounger jig head. (Thanks for the tip gripnrip!) My buddy also caught 1 Bass and 1 Crappie as well. His came off a red eye chart. shad Really didnt think we had what they wanted, still surprised they were willing to chase, on what i would say was a medium speed retrieve.

Beginner Looking For A Good Zebco Combo
My wife totally shocked me, at first she was all, "let me just have a basic reel an ole zebco, i know how to throw it, i dont want any other kind." So ok i got her that, well last year were fishing and i usually bring at least 2 rods even when im bank fishing, so out of the blue "whats so hard about these baitcaster, let me see it" im like ok incoming major backlash, well i'll be danged if she didnt just repeatedly throw a solid cast with out any problems, cast after cast Although she did have the wind at her back, and her real challenge will come when she has to cast that lighter lure into the wind, but i was still very proud of her for just picking it up and chunking it like it was no big deal. She was like this reel is so much smoother then my zebco, i like it alot better. So for Christmas she got a brand new baitcaster reel, and we will trade in that old zebco during the reel trading program to get her another reel for the new rod she will be getting during the rod trade in program She did use the Zebco Omega cause i promised at the time to get her a really good reel, which seems expensive for a spincast but it is a really nice spincast.

Round 2 Of Lunch Time Bassn'
yeah i saw 15-30 wind maybe! I planned to mostly concentrate on plastics today. I just packed a small tackle box but i did manage to throw in a couple of square bill 2.5 crankbaits, black back chart and bluegill. Also tossed in a Red eye Chrome Sexy Shad lipless too, and just encase my buddy goes to hitting them on spinnerbaits i threw in my two new megastrike spinnerbaits. Brought the JJ's Magic to help out too, first day I will be putting it to the test!

Round 2 Of Lunch Time Bassn'
Well got a warm day tomorrow, been 60ish today, and supposed to hit 72 tomorrow! So me and my buddy are off to try our luck on our lunch break. Here's what we plan on try'n My buddy likes to throw spinnerbaits so he's got that covered and probably a Rat-L-Trap Myself I pre-rigged a 3-wire yumbrella, with 4" money minnows, 2 white/chart and one in the middle white with red nose. Figure try that slow rolling what the heck! Hehe Also pre-dipped my money minnows in JJ Magic and sealed In a baggy for overnight, wow is that stuff strong! Can't wait to see if it gives me an edge. Also my next go to bait I'm looking to is baby brush hawg watermelon red flake on a shakey head, if no luck there try some of my new roboworms on the same shakey head. If still no luck may look to trying either fluke with a scrounger jig head, or a weightless black/blue senko or a weightless caffeine shad. Is there anything you would try or leave off of this list? Remember you only got 60 mins! Hope we find some tomorrow!

Do I Suck At This?!?
This time of year will make you frustrated, it's hard for me to fish slow, on that note I'm going fishing tomorrow 72 degrees here in Okie land, 60 and cloudy today. So maybe that might wake a few more up.

Drop Shot... Hook.... Heck.... Help!
I recently tried my first run at drop shot and went with the VMC spin shot, got my first bass on it the other day seemed to work great! Its so different cause i am used to using such a BIG hook and this dinky 1/0 hook with the worm nose hooked. I'm like awwwww geeze i just know there gonna bit the tail and rip it off, but its something to do with they attack the head of the creature, and i hooked up with my first drop shot bass just fine. It worked when nothing else was working for me that day.

Bill Dance
Bill is a classic and seems like a good guy, and i still laugh my butt off at those bloopers. I just hate he never fishes any where challenging or to different, seems like same old private lakes week after week that are overly stocked. Nothing against Bill i grew up watching him i just think he's taking it a bit to easy out there. Jimmy is one of my favs, as goofy as a guy as he is but when i was in the 6th grade, my dad took me to Lake Guerrero and the trip was with Jimmy and his son and his crew, it was great, Jimmy always had a story to tell while we drove on a big bus down there, but one thing that always stuck with me was that while we were fishing, when we would come in that evening after a long day Jimmy always took time out even if it was just for 10 mins to ask me every day how i did fishing, I was the only kid in the group. This was a big deal to me as a youngster that this big time pro was willing to talk, listen and just visit with me. I know Roland Martin fished FLW last year, but I would think it would be great to see like and old school pro tourney with Bill, Jimmy, Hank, Clunn etc just to name a few compete against each other.
