She's Not Much But My First 2013 Bass!
Got to hit an old farm pond for two hours, found one cold hungry little bass, on the first time using a drop shot rig, with a 4" robowarm margarita mutilator. It was worth ever minute!

Snaps Instead Of Split Rings On Crankbaits?
I use snaps on my hard baits, hate having to re tie. I never even bothered to think about taking off the split ring, fish dont seem to mind either.

Lake Sardis, Olklahoma Tips?
Excellent! I am currently making a Lake Notes on my iphone cause if i dont write this stuff down i will never remember! I cant wait to try the Scrounger out even at my local farm pond, last year i introduced myself to caffeine shads.... killer! just fishing them weightless similar to the fluke but just have a strong coffee smell the bass loved them! But my fist thought was try one of those bad boys on that Scrounger jig as well. Man i am so excited to be doing this co-angler thing this year, march can't come soon enough! just hope i get a decent boater. I want to try to fish more and learn more this year is why i decided to try out the co-angler.

Lake Sardis, Olklahoma Tips?
Woot! Thank you for the tip much appreciated! One of the reason I'm wanting to fish these tourneys is to get on some waters I have never been on with some anglers that I can learn from.

Co Angler Blues....
Invest in some snaps! I got some great heavy duty ones, make those quick changes and cut down on re-tying time. I have used snaps my whole life, on my hard baits. When i comes to worms and other soft plastics i will tie though, but the biggest fish i caught this summer in a pond at 6 1/2 pounds on a ocho worm was Texas rigged to a snap, she didnt seem to mind!

Lake Sardis, Olklahoma Tips?
If i ever get my old tinboat decked and engine running, its on my to do list of lakes for sure, i have heard its a good one! I just pre-registered for the BWS last night as a co-angler, so March will be Grand on the 9th with BFL and Tenkiller on the 23rd with BWS. Good luck!

Bfl Co-Angler Looking For A Boater Link
Thanks! I'll hit it up too. I'm thinking of fishing BWS as well, but some freaking genius at FLW and BASS decided to schedule the last tourney of the season for each trail on the same day! But this year I'm all a bout learning, so I plan to hit both and depending on how im doing ill decide on which one to fish. BFL final is Broken Bow BWS final is Grand Lake Grand lake will get hit 3 times between the 2 trails, so I'm already leaning towards Broken Bow out the gate. With all the wonderful lakes in OK why fish the same ones over and over.

Major League Fishing 2013
Correction! quick google search found this little quote, looks like we will get more MLF this year! "MLF plans two more events 7/23/2012 Major League Fishing (MLF) announced today it’ll host two events before the end of 2012 – one in the Northeast and the other in the South. The first of the two events, called the Summit Cup, will begin airing on Jan. 1, 2013 on Outdoor Channel. The other will begin airing in March 2013. Exact locations of both events won’t be disclosed to anglers until 2 days before the start of each competition. MLF commissioner Don Rucks said the in-depth pay-per-view airings will again accompany the TV broadcasts, but the webisodes, dubbed “Extended Cast,” will now follow the TV episodes. Details, such as the number of webisodes being offered, when they will be available, pricing and package information, will be announced at a later date. “Our inaugural event exceeded our expectations, and the reviews from the public were terrific,” Rucks said in a release announcing the two events. “And I believe this year’s events are going to get even better, drumming up excitement from even more anglers and viewers. “In conjunction with the inaugural Major League Fishing event, we offered the pay-per-view webisodes prior to their airing on Outdoor Channel as a way to introduce the new league,” he added. “Now, we will offer additional content to viewers through our new pay-per-view platform, Extended Cast, following the episodes airing on Outdoor Channel. We feel many viewers will be so enticed by the action-filled competition appearing on Outdoor Channel that they’ll want to watch a more in-depth broadcast that offers more than three times the amount of coverage.”

Major League Fishing 2013
Dang just read on the site that "The Summit Cup, held August 27 through September 2, 2012" So I get the feeling this will be the only event of the year. unless their filming one soon to air in the fall? I think the new format has bee popular enough, that if not this year, i bet soon we will get more than 1 event a year.

Major League Fishing 2013
Big break was also acme to mind as well. I just want more fishing shows I guess, for the days I can't get out there! Lol

Major League Fishing 2013
last year the whole thing took place on Amistad and i assume this year will be the same way. I wonder if they will have more than one event this year? Last year was called the Challenge Cup, with this year being The Summit Cup, but starting much earlier, maybe they will hold more than one event, I am sssuming this has been successful. How has bass fishing missed out on the whole, Reality TV craze, like doing a "Survivor" type show, have pros compete in fishing comps, or fishing challenges + have elimination tourneys, or put the lowest two guys in a head to head match. I mean just follow any old reality tv formula out there, but just substitute bass fishing and our favorite pros. example, see Redneck Island. That or just give us more than one MLF event for the entire year. PLZ

Pond Fishing Help?
Well made a run to a pond this evening before it dark which meant about 60 mins of fishing, and it was tough out there, muddy water from the rain. Worked two baits, black/blue jig and watermelon black red flake senko. Got a little nibble on the jig and then struck out tonight, hope tomorrow improves.

Pond Fishing Help?
Its going to be windy as heck tomorrow, I was under the impression they wont chase to much, so i ruled out Rat-L-Traps, my buddy said he would try a slow roll a spinnerbait. I'm leaning towards Jig myself. Being OK water will be more than likely at least stained, but still site is unseen so you never know. I have one Chatterbait, all white, that i have yet to ever even get wet.

Pond Fishing Help?

Pond Fishing Help?
haha nice, funny will be doing about the same thing tomorrow myself. My co-worker and I call it "Lunch Time Bass'n" we were planning to go today, but we didnt pack any rain gear, so were holding off until tomorrow. We only got about 50 mins to fish, found a place 5 mins from where we work to wet a line. I got some Senko's dark colors, Black/blue and watermelon black/red, couple of spinner baits, jigs, and worms. Hopefully between the two of us we can find something that works. Never tried fishing this early myself but can't pass up the good weather and great moon phase. We did this a lot early spring last year and for only having a limited time we could find them. Biggest being 3 pounders each, on separate days.
