  1. I'll typically dye my green pumpkins and watermelons colors but does anyone dye the junebug or black and blue plastics if so what's your fav color to dye them!
  2. Watched a video where the man himself Rick Clunn said he was taught by the father of the Big-O to reel that square bill fast, and when you hit something. *stop* pause then take off reeling again. Clunn said that the guy was pretty old at the time saw Rick fishing it to slow and said "want me to show you how to fish that lure" and just tucked the reel down to his side and just started cranking away pretty fast, faster than i ever thought you would. Agree on the general consensus 6:4:1 reel.
  3. Same thing happened to me loved the idea but I fish lots of rocks and keep getting hung. Went back to simple old spot removers less hanging up. Have a few left of the mega strikes my give another shot.
  4. ok i am reeling to fast then based on what u guys are saying, next time im out i'll be sure to drag the bottom. and maybe put a tasty Rage Craw for a trailer
  5. My buddy uses pline copoly and it's some serious stuff. As far as trying to get it to break. I still stick with Fluoro but I have my eye on the copoly. What's pros and cons Fluoro vs copoly?
  6. The two main lakes we fish, the fish really never get too deep. id say 10-20 range on our lakes would be considered deep. I know whats going to happen i will probably end up buying all 3... lol
  7. we have been having the dreaded fish loss during some local jackpots on our DT6, we feel we are doing everything right on working the fish in sometimes they just toss the lure and get off so its frustrating and the only other thing we could think of to help improve our odds is to upgrade the hooks to help out.
  8. Nice thank you, for the info!
  9. Been wanting to upgrade my DT hooks i know some have mixed feelings about the sure shot vs the regular. But i want to make sure I understand everything on the sizes too. Came across a Bassmasters article saying that on the DT06 "comes with two No. 6 hooks," when i checked the rapala site it says the DT 6 comes with a No 5 & 6, but doesnt state which hook is the front or the back? http://www.bassmaster.com/blog/modifying-your-crankbait-hooks# The article says to upgrade the front hook a full size, to a number 4 and the back to a 1/2 size which says is a number 5, so I'f im understanding this correctly Odd numbers are 1/2 sizes? even being a full size? Can anyone confirm that the DT6 has two 6, or a 5 and 6 and which is which? im not near my tackle box to compare at the moment. Thank you!
  10. The Cut R worm on a shakey head has gotten me hooked on the Rage Tail worms Most of my lakes are rocky areas, some mud banks. I am just trying to not overwhelm myself either with to many BIG worm options. Even though all three of them look killer
  11. I'm loving me some Cut R worms, and as warmer weather approaches im looking to go to a bigger worm. I see Rage makes 3 kinds, Anaconda, Thumper, and ReCon I am leaning Anaconda, i was wondering does anyone dye the massive tails on these things? Or dye a part of tail? Or just chunk it like it is. I been reading on here about the other worms too feel free to weigh in on ur thoughts about the Anaconda or other worms too. Thanks!
  12. "Jerkbait Method" so your saying your just working it like a jerk bait, please elbraote I know some have trouble getting this bait to dive, just encase your were wondering, 7' M action Duckett with a Lews Speed Spool 6:4:1 I think the main key is start the reel slow then once its down you can speed up as needed. I hope people remain skeptical about this bait cause its working for me and less fish that see it on my local lakes the better
  13. Started throwing the Scatter Rap Deep Diver, and love it! Caught some chunky girls this weekend 3.5 being the biggest. Its actually great for throwing even shallow deflects like a champ for me. Will be throwing it more
  14. I started fishing the scatter rap deep diver and I'm loving it, yes slow dat roll and it will get down there.
  15. ahh bummer unless im missing it, they only have the final day of the events listed. still better than nothing.
  16. awesome thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
  17. Some guys at the dock sand Randy was on Gibson and Swindle was at greenleaf. Rumor is there fishing wildcard to get into championship.
  18. More info rolling in sounds like they were on Greenleaf today which is a smaller local lake. But maybe just for a round. Hope they atleast hit some of our better lakes, Ft Gibson and Tenkiller, grand has already been showcased on the classic.
  19. also when we had lunch in wagoner saw MLF boat at the restaurant and when they left they headed towards Gibson.
  20. Fishing buddy said a bunch of Major League Fishing boats are at the local hotels, and one pro identified was the G-Man himself! Does this mean were about to have a MLF event here in muskogee on the River? or maybe even on Lake Fort Gibson?? Anyone know anymore info?
  21. yes taht would be cool to see the old school ones. i was just trying to be realistic, hopeing/thinking that the most recent would more than likely be available some where. Especially the Classics!
  22. Does Bassmaster have a online video vault? of the old epsiodes of Bassmasters not like old old old, Like lets say the last 5 years or so, Of elite series events?
  23. Well heard all the hype surrounding the old version of this lure happen to pop into my local tackle store to load up on other stuff and boom I see the new Vixen and like the call of a Siren i had to answer, he had three choices, baby bass, chart shiner, and silver shiner. So i snagged Chart shiner, i would have preferred bone white may snag one later from elsewhere. But now to see if the bass like it!
  24. i used not to be a fan, but when i started fishing lakes last year i knew i had to make myself use it cause it catches fish, it does, just keep telling yourself that when throwing it. There was a time when people thought a spinnerbait would catch every fish in the lake. Start simple, my first lake fish spinnerbait came off a 1/2 booyah Chart with colorado blades in muddy water.
  25. they look deadly and bass love them on the ole A-Rig. They just dont last fyi.
