  1. The rule was in effect for less time than it's not been in effect..... Giving other brands over 20 years to "bounce back" from the "unfair advantage". Yes operator input contributes to a dry ride some, but hull design contributes to it as well. I see a lot more older Rangers still out there than any other brand Ranger probably is #1 in price, but you get what you pay for. As mentioned above by someone else, other name brand boats aren't far behind in price when similarly equipped. And I have nothing against Bass Cat's...
  2. Appreciate it. You do get what you pay for..... Mine were well over $23/inch. I'm glad I spent the extra money, my two mounts are true works of art and I'll enjoy them for the rest of my life. I have zero "buyers remorse" in wishing I would have got a "better product", I know I got the best.
  3. Thanks. I'm glad I spent the extra money and went with him. They look even better in person!
  4. Nope that reasoning doesn't make sense... B.A.S.S. has allowed boat brands other than Ranger for over 20 years now, it's not like they just lifted that rule 3-5 years ago..... As far as hull and performance, Ranger is #1 in safety/floatation, #1 in smooth & dry ride and #1 in longevity/durability in their hull and again #1 in resale value. Now, is it the #1 "go fast" boat, no. If your main focus in a bass boat is speed, then you need to be in the sport of boat racing, not fishing.... Using that reasoning, I could have 4 Basstracker's and 4 smaller tow vehicles for the price of my rig??? I prefer QUALITY over QUANTITY....... It's the same reason I only have 18 rods, 14 of which are Conquests. For the cost of my 14 Conquests I could have over 80+ Duckett rods or other cheaper brand...
  5. Here are my two PB's (12lb 8oz largemouth and 6lb 4oz smallmouth) done by Dave Campbell www.davecampbellfish.com
  6. Here's my PB largemouth he did, 12lb 8oz:
  7. No problem. He's at the high end of the price spectrum, so be sitting down when he responds to your email. I got his "top of the line" / Master Grade finish on both of my PB's and seeing them in person they were worth every penny! You get what you pay for! Keep in mind there's a reason a Lamborghini costs more than a KIA......... Good luck.
  8. Here's my PB smallie replica, 6lb 4oz. Dave Campbell did it, he's one of the best in the country. Other companies like Lake Fork Taxidermy, etc in the $500 price range can't touch his paint jobs. He did my PB largemouth too. Dave told me that most people's deciding factors on the replica comes down to price, but this is one place where you don't want to "cut corners" and go cheap..... It's something that will hang on your wall and you'll be able to enjoy the rest of your life (unless you get a cheapo' mount done, then you'll regret it). Both of my PB's are on his website under the "master grade" examples and I've posted pics of my PB largemouth on this website as well. Good luck with your search...
  9. Very true, but why on earth would you put KIA wheels on a Lamborghini......?!?!?!?!? I too know about not "needing" the most expensive stuff to succeed... My first rig back when I was in high school.... 1989 Ford Festiva (4 speed manual V4) w/ two man plastic Basstender without a depthfinder! My depthfinder back then was sticking the rod in the water and seeing if I could touch bottom!!! (Keep in mind I'm 6'4", 250lb)
  10. Yep, and why can they "charge a little more just because of their name"? Because they've built a quality product and have stood the test of time. In doing so, the Ranger name has become synonymous with quality. Yeah, I thought it was a good answer too... Again, they hold their value so well because why? Not because they're low quality and built poorly, but the exact opposite.... It's not just a coincidence that there are 3 times as many guys in Rangers vs Bass Cats on the B.A.S.S. Elite Series........ And I'd be willing to bet if there was a survey done by bass fisherman across the country of "what the number one bass boat is", Ranger Boats would be at the top of the list.
  11. Yep. I have (2) Solix 15's, Ultrex 112, hydraulic jackplate, digital gauges, Humminbird 360, and the G2. Out of the $86k I paid for mine, $32k of it is in the items I just mentioned. So that leaves around $54k for the hull and trailer.
  12. And I'll take the Ranger ?
  13. 1. Hold it's resale value.... ? They both will get you out on the water... As will a Triton, Skeeter, and a two man plastic boat. Difference comes down to quality of materials used, resale value, warranty/company backing their product, patented designs (pultruded transom) etc etc.
  14. LOL!!!! Yeah, ok. Ford vs Chevy thread You win.....
  15. The prices are high, I agree. Rangers are what all other bass boats are compared to, just like all rods are compared to G. Loomis'. Good question.....
  16. It's a nice boat, but I don't like the color of it. Mine wasn't far off that $100k price tag. The price of everything continues to go up, not come down...
  17. So did I, mine was deleted as well... I've spoke my mind on every other fishing forum I'm a member of though... ?
  18. Was able to get my hands on a 50th Anniversary Icon traction pad, so ripped up the carpet and I'm going to give the pad a try. Also, had a 4'x3' 50th Anniversary Ranger logo sign made for the garage.
  19. I'm waiting to see if Shimano has a new flagship baitcaster or an updated Antares....
  20. Dave did my PB largemouth and smallie. Both I got were his "master grade", his top of the line finish/paint job. He is one of the top guys in the country. I too had sticker shock on his prices at first, but I'm glad I spent the coin and went with him. His price list is under his contact tab on his website. I did hours of research online and saw many other companies that were in the $500 dollar range like Lake Fork, etc. and their paint jobs didn't come close to Dave's. He paints each individual scale and not just a quick airbrush type paint job over the whole mount. If I move left and right while looking at my mounts some of the scales/areas even change color/shimmer just like the real thing. You get what you pay for............ There's a reason a Lamborghini costs more than a Kia........ My .02 www.Davecampbellfish.com
  21. Yes sir, HIGHLY recommend Dave. He did both my PB largemouth and smallie, both are his "master grade" and both are on threads in this forum and on his website... What was the length and girth of your fish tbrown2080?
  22. Nope, I wouldn't use poles that much, Ultrex handles locking me in place just fine. If I lived further south, say FL or AL I'd definitely have them. Yes, 360 is linked to both Solix 15's along with the Ultrex and my G2. The Ultrex can follow a contour line and I can display engine info on both Solix 15's.....
  23. Yes sir! If she is still alive and well, I bet she's 7 1/2lb - 8lb by now, I caught her back in March of 2016. I watched my PB largemouth swim away too, she was 12lb 8oz March of 2017. If she's still alive and well she's probably pushing high 13lb.
