  1. Looks like Dave has updated his website and the link listed above is broken. Here are the pics of my PB's he did for me. My largemouth was 12lb 8oz, the smallie 6lb 4oz. My largemouth was 26" long and had a girth of 21.5".
  2. It's a tie between my Metanium MGL XG's and my Stella FJ's...
  3. I'm one of those that Al didn't like.... I never cussed, name called or anything "unprofessional". I just hurt the feelings of his buddies and/or recently "promoted to" board sponsors/moderators, 21XDC, grout-scout and kandkkustoms It's funny because I've seen guys cuss each other out on there and one guy insinuated that I "do something vulgar" and he didn't get banned.
  4. I use Flickr.com. I don't have any pictures in my Flickr profile/album that I wouldn't care for the whole world to see.... No personal family pics, etc. in there. I don't have any social media profiles/accounts either for that reason, don't want the whole world seeing that part of my life.....
  5. Yeah, it was an unreal trip! I caught a bunch of good numbers each day too (except the 4th and last day I got one single bite all day long and it was first thing in the morning, a 12lb 8oz gorilla!!!). I'm smiling ear to ear just typing about it. It was an awesome trip and I'll never forget it, but it has definitely spoiled me..... A lot of them will be spawning in a couple weeks I'm guessing. The surface water temp was touching 60 degrees when I was there this week and some warm weather in the forecast for down there the next two weeks. Take sight/bed fishing gear with you and good luck! Seeing a submarine on a bed and trying to get her to bite will get your blood flowin'....
  6. Good luck. You never know until you go.... I'm switching gears now and getting everything prepped for my two long trips up north for smallies....
  7. I did well on Joe Balog's Goby Replica on LSC. They're no longer made and I lost my last one to a toothy critter a couple years ago up there..... I haven't tried the LiveTarget one yet, I've got some and plan on giving them a shot this year when I go up to LSC. To the OP, I'd definitely go with the 1/2oz for small stream/river.
  8. It was a grind for me this week, but still managed to get a 7lb 8oz, a 6lb and a 5lb. Also caught a couple of big stripers. Not what I was expecting for Chick in March, mid 50 degree water and rising and a full moon. I thought it was going to be game on! The FLW boys practicing didn't help with my "another boat within a quarter mile of me" syndrome...lol. I like having the lake to myself, or at least a big distance from me and the next boat. There were a couple dozen wrapped boats in every major creek arm this week, along with all the crappie guys too. My magical trip a couple years ago where I broke my PB 5 times in four days and caught a 34lb 8oz bag on day 2, a 35lb bag on day 3 and then caught my new PB of 12lb 8oz on day 4 set up similar to this week as far as conditions, so I was a little jacked up to say the least. I did see where a FLW guy busted a 37lb bag today on the rig and jumped from 40th to 1st. I can't imagine doing that in a tournament... He must be on cloud 9!
  9. Rogne Brown is no longer guiding. He drives a big rig across the country now.
  10. Can be hard to judge at times, but I saw a guy make a claim on a smallie that was so far off the chart it's laughable.... Especially since his smallie was within 2lb or so of the world record. Some of you may know the smallie I'm referring to. He didn't get a length or girth measurement and only had a couple weird pictures of that monster trophy catch. And with all the measuring devices on the market, there's no reason what so ever that a "record/trophy" catch can't be properly documented with pics and a video of measuring the fishes length and girth along with it on reputable scale.
  11. It also says 300 under specifications in the middle of the card...
  12. So much for them costing less than a Ranger, mine was $86k loaded to the gills. This one is $89,145 as shown.... It have a 250 or 300? Top red section says 250, specifications below say 300? Keith Daffron is a smooth talker on all the Vexus videos, but in the end it looks like smoke and mirrors to me. I'm sticking with Ranger.
  13. I'm not impressed with the fiberglass models so far... Looks like they only offer 7 colors too?!? I'd still like to see a VX20 or VX21 in person. I was hoping to see a "game changer".... And no pricing on their website? Looks like I won't be trading in the Z520L for a Vexus VX20/VX21 after all...
  14. Probably not a huge difference between the two, but the Metanium probably does cast further. I've heard of guys complaining about the gears going bad in the Metaniums when using moving baits, mainly crankbaits. I don't crank enough with the Metaniums to notice, but I do throw other moving baits that have drag/resistance with them and they're just as smooth as the day I bought them. Good luck with your search.
  15. I'm heading down the 18th - 22nd, can't wait...! I just hope the lake clears up some and settles down. Looks like they're still rolling 140k at both ends the next few days.
  16. Army National Guard from 1999-2008. One deployment stateside, Operation Enduring Freedom from Oct 2011 - Aug 2012. Started off enlisted as a 63B, light wheel vehicle mechanic. Went to college and got my commission and became a 91A maintenance platoon leader. Got out as a 1st Lieutenant in 2008.
  17. I haven't seen any difference in build quality, etc from my previous boat (2009 Ranger Z520, "pre-Johnny Morris Ranger") and my current 2018 Z520L "Johnny Morris" Ranger.... The Classic is right around the corner, I'm curious to see what the Ranger OG's at Vexus have done with their 20' & 21' glass models.......
