  1. ^^^ This ^^^ I have five Calcutta Conquest 400's for my big bait applications, all are going to be paired up on custom swimbait rods that are rated for baits from 2oz all the way up to 12oz. Matt and Bill explain it more in detail, see the two videos below. Good luck.
  2. Like Shimano_1 said, it's a gorgeous lake but for a true trophy I'd go elsewhere. Yeah, it holds the world record smallie, but that was a while ago and there's a video on Utube that talks about how the lake isn't what it used to be as far as nutrients, etc. Forgot what it's called, but it's the fish and wildlife guys talking about it.
  3. Nice! My maiden voyage and very first fish with mine was a 7lber!!!
  4. My vote is for the Conquest. I'm a G Loomis/Shimano guy and have zero experience with the Z-bone. I did a review of the Conquests back when I got them. I've got 14 of them and have had no issues with them, love em'. I've upgraded my reels and now have (4) Stella FJ 3000's on my spinning Conquests and (10) Metaniums on my baitcasting Conquests. Good luck.
  5. My G2 foot pedal is super sensitive just like a car's gas pedal, so in rough water I switch it back over to the hand throttle. I've gotten used to using the hand throttle again so I just keep it set on hand throttle now. On my old 2009 Z520 I had the hot foot and liked it. If I had a Merc, I'd have one....
  6. Just upgraded my four Calcutta 400D's to five of the new Conquest 400's. Can't wait to get them out on the water!
  7. Imo the 895 NRX is very tip heavy.
  8. Better to have too much truck than not enough. Period. I'd rather have my 3/4 ton diesel not even breathe hard pulling my lead sled than to have a V6 that is exhausted in 5 minutes and needs a new transmission and engine in 2 months because it couldn't handle the pullin'. My truck feels like a bulldog trying to pull out of it's leash when towing. I barely give it gas going up the mountains of east TN and it rumbles past everyone else while staying in 6th gear at 1200-1300 rpms. My 5.3L V8 Tahoe would have to downshift and the rpms shot up over 3k on the slightest of inclines pulling my 2009 Z520. I couldn't imagine what a V6 would do trying to go up a hill, let alone stopping. I'll never go back to gas for towing...
  9. No, that's not too big and NO there aren't fish in Chick....! ?
  10. Well don't forget or neglect to collect! ?
  11. Collecting, charging - who cares. I've got to pay it now that's all that matters... ?
  12. I have (4) Northstar AGM 31's in mine. Zero issues so far running Solix 15's and 360 all day.
  13. Who knows, but I just found out they're charging sales tax for KY now....
  14. KY was just recently broken with a 14lb 9oz beast from a 6 acre pond!

  16. No fish in Chick, go to Florida... My PB largemouth and one of my PB smallie's (I've caught 3 that were 6lb 4oz) came from Chick. Good luck! Yeah, someone's got their numbers jacked up....
  17. Whenever, but I probably won't be going there much anymore. Unless I have just one day to fish and want to get my line stretched. I've got kinda burnt out of Cedar, but it's a good little lake I can go to can go to and catch 3lb's - 5lb's at will. You would think KY would have built this "trophy bass lake" closer to the TN state line and stocked it with Florida strains.... I've been focusing my efforts on other lakes the last several years where DD's live. Feel free to shoot me a PM, I don't want to hijack this guys NRX thread anymore...lol.
  18. When I had all NRX's, I noticed as said many times above that the 895 was tip heavy. My 905 Conquest is much more balanced...
  19. Get a X2/Northstar 31 AGM, I've got four in my boat, zero issues running Solix 15 and 360 all day. Deka is another good brand, their Intimidator 31 series AGM. Whatever you do, stay away from Interstates....
  20. My wife calls every color bait a "sexy shad"......
