G-Loomis Gl-2 Spinning Rod Sensitivity
Don't let the other posters get you down. I own a GL2 granted I do think they are over priced at retail but for 120 that isn't bad. I like my GL2 won't say it's my favorite, but it has it's place in my arsenal. It is plenty sensitive for for bottom contact.

Sell Me A New Rod?
For the most part I think you can make do with the cheaper rods and catch fish. I do however noticed that at the 100 dollar price point is where you will feel a difference in how a rod fishes, regarding comfort - sensitivity - quality - lighter rods. I wouldn't say that a 300-400 rod will make you a better fisherman, I think it enhances your fishing experience and can benefit you in the end. Of course this is all subjective. I will say that it is amazing how much sensitivity increased for me when I used my first Cumara. (250+ rod) When someone says you can feel the fish swim by or near it, I know what they mean now. When I first fished with it I was setting the hook on everything because I wasn't used to the extra sensitivity. The best experience was the first time i caught a fish... I was able to feel when I was drop shotting, I just felt the fish just swallow. No tap no line movement, I just could tell..set the hook and up came a 2lb bass. On the next cast in the same spot, I felt something and set the hook and what was on my hook was a fish scale. I don't know how to explain, but I guess you can feel the water move around it when fishing around it.

Leader Problem: Hang-Ups Breaking Off At Leader Knot Instead Of Lure Knot...
I've only had this problem when I used Trilene Vanish (lost fish at the leader knot double uni). I've changed to Seaguar Red Label and I don't have that issue anymore. So it's possible the line you're using could be the issue with the type of knot you are using.

Convincing The Misses That My Fishing Addiction Is A Good Thing? Help
Just like she can't stop you from fishing and you can't make her go with you. Just compromise, it is nice to have a hobby and passion but you also have to remember once you made a commitment it isn't just about you anymore. If you want to stay married with her, you have to work it out.

Pond Fishing Problems
It would really help a lot if you tell us what the Power/Action it is. This isn't detailed enough and a lot of "assumptions" would have to be made by a person to recommend to you what is wrong. Other things that could help someone give you some advice is what the is temperature like in the water? where are you located (generally, like a state)? The responses you gave for example the person asking weather/temp, times..etc. You responded in general but nothing that was helpful for the person who asked those questions. I'm assuming based on your questions you are new to "bass fishing". For Senko fishing please look at the FAQ. It has numerous advice, I also recommend taking a look at the equipment forum (Fishing rods, reels, line and knots) forum. Do some searches there for the type of fishing you are thinking of doing, generally you can find some good recommendations on the type of fishing you want to do.

Shimano And Price Drop
A quote from the main Shimano rep at the other forum stated the Chronarch E will be around into next year.

Shimano And Price Drop
From what I hear the Chronarch E isn't being replaced yet...I wouldn't say the Ci4 would be the one to replace it or affect it's sale, it would more likely be the Curado I that knocks it out. I think they will do something next year, either remove it from the line up or upgrade it to fit in between the Ci4+ and the Curado I.

Preventing Rod Breakage - Best Practices ?
I agree with everything here, I don't ever really find me fighting a fish past 10 o'clock too...I usually fight them right or left to apply pressure and adapt when they go one way or another.

Preventing Rod Breakage - Best Practices ?
Now that I never thought of. I guess that is why bait/lure covers are worth it. HRM.

Good All Around Spinning Rod $150 Or Less
x2.I recommend this rod. I also think smalljaw meant broken record on what he recommends. I own the same rod, very versatile and can be a great all purpose spinning rod.

Flukes...i Thought This Was A Spring Time Bait?
Actually I thought it was a summer time bait. However, I've had no issues catching them during the Fall and Spring. One of my confidence baits.

Need Help Deciding Between Two Reels
Even though I've never owned an Orra or Lews, this would be based on my view point of reviews in such. In general the Orra seems to be hit or miss and consensus seems to be at least go to the Revo level. For speed spool same story they recommend going one level up, BUT the SS still gets better overall review. So based on this info I'd recommend the Lews.

Drop Shot Line Breakage
I always do what you stated, still no issues. I have never experienced the problems you are having, I've even caught numerous fish without having an issue with breakage at all. Heck I've even used the same setup after inspecting the line to see if it's ok and still catch fish the next day. Only thing maybe it is your cinching or possibly the line is bad..that is the only thing I can think of.

Your Very First Baitcaster Reel?
Abu Garcia Store Brand Cheapo - worst ever buy...when I got my first Curado, my life was so much easier learning to use baitcasters.

Drop Shot Line Breakage
First I always check, especially after catching a fish if my line/knot is still ok. So if you're not doing that now, I'd start with that. Second it's possible the floro you have is brittle? Maybe the spool was old when you bought it, so the integrity/strength of the line is weak. 6lb floro is not too weak for drop shot. I've gone down to 4lb leader/floro and had no issue with breakage. Another thought crossed my mind is maybe you aren't fighting the fish properly? Meaning when I go down that low, I don't try to horse them in. Are you using the standard method for DS? (Palomar knot) If you are the Palomar Knot to me is almost fullproof, but you must wet the line before cinching down.

How Do You Store Your Rods Between Fishing Trips?
In my furnace room the rods I won't be using the next day or anytime soon stay on my make shift horizontal racks (2 hooks, 4 sets, each set can hold 4-5 rods). My babied roads which is most will have a rod glove on it. The ones I know I will be using soon or the next day I will have them reeled up, set up and leaning against a chair (I like to lean my rods on this than the walls, it helps support it better when leaning). RIght now I have three rods with reels on them right now. (2 spinning and 1 casting) - MLXF, M/XF and M/F, they are all ready to go for pan fishing for crappie/perch.

Just Bought An Avid. Any Feedback?
Agreed, for wacky I'd go to a minimum a M/F rod. St. Croix to me anyway has a tendency to be under rated, it is between M-MH. I also find Avid's being a little tip heavy but not to the point of being annoying though. Good rod I'm sure you'll enjoy it
