  1. Im new to jerkbaits I picked up a few of these to try out im going to throw them on spinning tackle. I was wondering if anyone had experience with them, did they perform well, did you have teak them if so what did you do?
  2. What would you guys recommend for a spinning set up
  3. one more thing I forgot to mention its a spinning set up
  4. I was hoping to use it for those purposes I think the rod has enough backbone for but also limber enough for a dropshot and wack rigs
  5. •7'0" 24-ton graphite medium action 1-piece rod •Stainless steel guides with oxide inserts •5:1:1 gear ratio with 6 ballbearings seems like a moderate action
  6. I recently purchased the hank parker set up from WalMart I was looking for a use for it. I was wondering if it would be better suited for moving baits or for a shakey head or dropshot setup. If there is anyone who has gotten it what do you use it for
  7. I have been unlucky with the dropshot I began fishing it about a month ago. The area I fish I surrounded with riff raff and if I fish it too slow I lose weights or the whole rig. I try to fish it as slowly as possible I am using a variety of finesse worms and the zoom tiny fluke and regular fluke in smoking shad and albino. I have no idea why I am not catching fish.
  8. I use a eagle claw hook sharpner works just fine for me.
  9. thats true Im not looking to horse them the taper is moderate. It will give them time to load up. I should be alright I fish for Spotted bass with the occasional lmb in the mix at the lake so we will see how it works out.
  10. I have a berkley cherrywood 6'6" medium light I was wondering would this be adequate for a dropshot set up. I see where alot of people in videos use from 6'10" to 7'3" medium light. I was wondering would my rod be long enough or have enough backbone for a good size fish.
  11. I will look into the hippy jigs as well I didn't know they had hair as well
  12. I will look into those how are they on quality
  13. I've been trying to get in touch with northstar. I sent him an email and a message on here. Im sure he's very busy this time of year. I just had a few quick questions about the jigs
  14. Hair jigs it is I will be making a order tomorrow
  15. May have to try that I like the look of the northstar hair jigs. There are largemouth at the lake but the spots are more abundant. I will make my order soon
  16. Those are some great looking jigs. Thanks for replying I may have to try the finesse jigs I wonder why I never thought about it lol. I dont think many guys are throwing hair jigs so I guess ill have to fish and find out
  17. I was looking into buying some NorthStar hair jigs. My question is are they as deadly on spotted bass as they are on smallies. The lake I fish is loaded with spots but no smallies and I want opinions before making a purchase.
  18. No I was saying that that was the reason that I dont have 20 different colors. I have all of those colors and that's about it. All of my jig fish cave been caught on black and blue
  19. With me I honestly cannot afford to have multiples of 20 different colors on jigs.
  20. Thanks mike and rockchalk06 that's the plan to build up
  21. My first jig fish was bed fishing. I could see the male plain as day sitting there I pitched four or 5 times no luck then I found the sweet spot. He grabbed it and took off right. So I reeled down and set the hook over my left shoulder man it was awesome
  22. Thanks guys I appreciate it
  23. Thanks whitwolf you told me to keep at it and it paid off and rockchalk06 it has been moderately been getting pulled. Once a month a few base colors and sizes. Now im getting multiples so I dont cry as much on the slide when I lose one
