  2. I got the gist of it today. I had my most success if i was just letting the line roll over my thumb as i released it, and as it hits the water i gradually increased the pressure.

  14. Thanks JeziHogg I think that may be my issue is I have everything too tight. I have a few 1/4 oz arkey heads. As a matter of fact I just tied one on I have been practicing and will continue I am determined to get it down. I will eventually.
  15. thats the same thing I was thinking but I cant seem to get it down even with my breaks turned on. I always seem to get a backlash I was curious about his reasoning behind this but didnt get to get into a deep conversation about it. I was also in the market for a new reel so im wondering is it something i am doing wrong or what. I would like to master this technique soon.
  16. I was talking to an old tourney about skipping jigs. I told him that I could skip any soft plastic with my spinning reels but when it come to the bait casters I am having a very hard time. He told me that he uses an abu garcia revo that has 10 ball bearings in it and the difference was night and day. I am wondering if this does help. I priced a few reels and the two im looking at are the Quantum Energy Casting reel and the Revo SX gen 3. My questions are has anyone had any experience with the reels and if so which one do lean more towards.
  17. Thats true Im on a tight budget so mine are coming up a little slowly. But if he has it then go for it.
