  1. I have a line on a abu stx for $70 that I think would be great on my Veritas as my all around rod. I also have a Cumara paired w a citica G6 that I want to use as a jig and worm rod. Both reels are 6:4:1 and was wondering if I'd be better off purchasing a higher speed reel for my jig and worm rod. In other words should I buy another 6:4:1 or is that just redundant?
  2. Now that you mention it I noticed the same issue with the grease piled up on the pinion gear
  3. I'll take it apart a few more times since I am currently snowed in. This coming week I'll send it out to you if the problem persists.
  4. Sweet. I'll have to make a Walmart run or simple green once the snow lets up. Thanks
  5. Didn't flush the bearings bc I am not exactly sure how to get them out. All I did was take the side plates off, spool out, removed the handle, star drag, washers, etc. Removed all the gunk and old grease, and put on new Reel Butter. Bearings got a drop of oil, no more.
  6. I was just checking out your site actually bc so many people on here recommended you. I re spooled it w some eagle claw 20lb mono as backing tied to Yo Zuri Hybrid 12lb.
  7. Yeah, I just hope it's salvageable since losing a reel would set me back and money is kinda tight atm.
  8. I will look at this. Not sure whether I'll be able to tell if it's correct or not.
  9. So I tore down my BPS QP for the first time following Tacklejunkie81's video on YouTube. It's my first time doing any reel cleaning/lube so I expected to mess up a bit. I believe I followed his video pretty accurately, but the reel seems louder and not as smooth now. Also, it doesn't seem to be laying line on the spool evenly, seeming heavy on the right side. I want to be able to take care of my equipment myself but I also do not want ruin it. So is there anything I can do or should I just cut my loses and see what Bass Pro will do?
  10. I meant cabelas. Oops. And it's going to be in chrisitana. Bps opening in ac Nxt fall though
  11. New bps opening in Delaware. Suppose a few hundred will go there
  12. Whoa. Lots of responses. Thank all. Def going to use it now. Acme mapper as well. Now if this cold would just get out of here
  13. I've heard about people using Google Earth to scope out fishy spots. I was wondering if anyone on here does the same thing and has some tricks and tips you'd like to share. Perhaps there's a better program out there most don't know about. Anyway just looking for your thoughts and input Thanks
  14. What type of line would you recommend for each of these? My line up is looking very similar to this. I was thinking 40lb braid for the #1, 12#lbyo zuri for #2 and 20lb braid for #3
  15. Will do Tugmaster thank you. And thanks to everyone else who responded
  16. I bought it used. Sorry should very mentioned that
  17. Hey guy all, novice yak angler here. Just bought a ride and was curious about where to find a higher seat for it As well as a rod holder. Thanks
  18. Lots of info thanks. Those Fenwick rods seem pretty highly regarded on this site so I'll have to check them out. I just actually got a citica at Dick's for $69 which isn't too bad I don't think. I wasn't aware there was a buy and sell forum on here so I'll take a look there. Thanks again
  19. Oh man Big Cruz** My mistake, meant no disrespect
  20. thanks Dink. I've always had the best luck with topwater spooks and spinnerbaits. Crankbaits and plastics are kinda new to me tbh.
  21. Hello everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Anyway, I just bought a kayak and have been dying to get together gear for some spring time fishing. After pouring over craigslist, and spending some hard earned cash rewards $$$, here's what I have assembled. Rods: St Croix Mojo Crankbait 7' MHM, St. Croix Primier 6'6" MM glass crankbait, Abu Veritas 6'9" MHF, *** 7' MF spinning. Reels: an Abu Pro Max casting reel, and BPS PQ 5:4;1 reel. Now I think I might have made a mistake, I just sold the mojo for exactly what I paid for it. I am not sure whether that was smart but I didn't think I'd need two crankbait rods. So my question to you all out there is this rod and reel assortment enough to cover the bases for a beginner out there? Should I add something else or upgrade somewhere? Was selling the Mojo over the primier a mistake? I have about $75 in rewards bucks that I have to spend otherwise I risk losing it. I really want a nice Shimano spinning reel but I'm also not sold on the Pro Max after reading about it. Thanks
