Parasites On Bass
Parasites are definitely common on fish. Some are harmful but a lot of times, they can have a symbiotic relationship in which they are benefiting off each other.

Cutting Braided Line?
I utilize my P-line Adaro Pliers which have the braid cutter build into them. Works like a charm Plus you have pliers available as well

Hauling Fish Onboard By Rod
+1 to all who said to use momentum and never exceed 90 degrees. If you are not high sticking your rod, then flipping the fish into the boat should not be breaking your rod.

New Reel At Academy
Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but should be a pretty decent reel looking at the construction/specifications.

Field&stream Rods At Dsg Made By Shimano ?
I personally wouldn't believe it. I tried to do some research for you but was unable to find any substantial evidence that the statement was true.

Best Bang For Your Buck
I wholeheartedly agree that you should continue to check the Flea Market and eBay. There is absolutely no need to buy used. Personally I would try to pick up a Shimano Curado 100D or a Revo S/SX/STX used. For a rod, I absolutely enjoy the Shimano Crucial line. I've been able to find all of the items mentioned for less than $100. Don't rush your decision and take your time. Eventually what you are looking for will show up at the right price.

Help Me Pick Out My Birthday Gift
If you have transportation, the angler kayak would be awesome. It's not as expensive as a boat and it would expand your potential fishing spots Waders are also really nice too when you need to fish areas that casting from the bank just doesn't cut it.

School Me On Lew's Reels
Anyone have objective reasons for why Lews reels are "smoother" or "cast better"? Just curious to see if the technical specifications are much better and in what aspect?

First Time In New Boat, First Fish Of The Year. (Pictures Added)
Love the boat! Grats on the first fish as well

Ci4 Vs Sustain Fg
I love the CI4 just for weight purposes. However, I will agree that the Sustain FG is technologically superior IMO. I have used both and would probably pair the CI4 with your G. Loomis rod

Deal At Dicks For Those Interested
Thanks for the heads up on the deal! Appreciate it. I will have to look into it because I do like W&M rods for inshore fishing.

Shimano Chronarch 50Mg.....upgrade?
+1 on the drag upgrade for the reel. Probably the most beneficial to the 50MG that I've noticed doing.

Favorite Spinning Reel Under $100
I will agree with both the Sahara and President. I have picked up older Supreme XTs from Plueger under $100 when they go clearance and I love those reels as well.

Eye Protection ( Oakley Angling )
I've always read that Okaley optics were terrible, but I must be mistaken. I've only tried on the polarized Oakleys at the mall sunglass shops and compared them to Maui Jims/Costas/Wiley X/etc. and it always seem to be the worst out of them. I'm curious as to whether Oakely uses different materials in their "angling" designed specs. I personally love my Wiley X and Kaenon (my favorite by far).
