drag it, hop it, swim it, let it sit....all on one cast until you see which way the bass eat it on that particular day. thats what i do anyways lol.
  2. super fluke...when all else fails tie it on, twitch it,dead stick it, drag it, jump it out of the water, put it on a scrounger head, wacky rig it, double rig it,put it on a swim jig, whatever it takes the bass WILL eat it some way.
  3. anyone fished them? seen them at a fishing seminar/expo now i want a few. just wondering if anyone has had any luck.
  4. I have been kayak fishing for a while now, and sold my jon boat last night. Now my girlfriend of 5 years is freaking out that i sold it.I need a decent kayak for her, she does not go with me all the time, maybe 10 times a year. I'm looking for a cheaper SOT kayak (under 500?) that she wont get wet in to make her happy lol. any suggestions? must be pretty stable.
  5. I catch more fish from my kayak than my jon boat hands down, and it is all because of the movement you can make in a boat vs a kayak. in my yak i can drift right over the fish and they seem to think nothing of it.
  6. the bass pro fishing game will waste some time in a waiting room, but people look at you funny when you swing your phone like a rod lol.
  7. Around here i have a problem with people catching something thats not a bass (or whatever they are trying to catch) and chucking it on the bank to die. i have seen catfishermen throw bass into rock walls, or onto the bank.
  8. millwork specialist/ door and cabinet builder.
  9. I'd pay $4 for 100-125 fish any day of the week! Lol
  10. Just wondering if anyone is going or has gone before. This will be my first time i usually forget the dates every year lol.
  11. I will have to try bending my hooks up a little, i have had a few hookup issues as well.
  12. 1.zoom super fluke(watermelon red) 2.zoom trick worm (black) 3.frog ( they all work for me) 4.rapala floating minnow (silver) 5. zara spook ( bone) 6.h2o express premium series jerkshad ( baby bass) 7. jig n pig 8.buzz bait ( not picky on color) 9.zman chatter frog 10. More flukes because i go through several bags if the bite is on.
  13. same for me, my first bass when i was 5 was on a spinnerbait and if i recall correctly, that was the last haha. But i honestly don't fish them much at all, another thing to work on this year.
  14. i'll admit i have a problem....but i love every second of it! i visit bass pro, gander mt, dicks,or academy atleast once a week ( it would help if i didn't have them all within 30 mins of my driveway), most of the time more. after 5 years my girlfriend doesn't even ask where we are going when we get on the interstate anymore lol.
  15. took 3 of my friends fishing that had not fished much before, and the ones that had were hook and bobber types. told them they could pick anything out of my tackle box to use and i loaned them all rods. after a while i turned around and all 3 of them were standing behind me with their rods propped up and lines in the water. I knew there was not a single thing in my tackle box that should be fished that way so i asked what the were using, and one replies "A little worm thingy" and they reel in and i see 3 crappie jigs with grubs on them, 5 INCH GRUBS! keeping a straight face i told them that was one of my favorites and let them fish like that for 30 more mins before showing them how to fish hahaha.
  16. i love the small one in the black and yellow color.
  17. I have used both and they are both good reels for the money but i prefer the PQ and have now put them on just about all of my rods.
  18. the Pro Qualifier is hard to beat, i just bought another as a combo it may still be on sale.it was 99.00 for the combo, not bad at all i bought the 7' med version to throw some heavier weightless plastics on ( if that even makes sense). i also own a black max, and the Pro Qualifier is 10x's smoother and just a better reel overall.
  19. Throw something pink at em
  20. I fish creeks every now and then, and i have found that any watermelon colored super fluke on a drop shot in the current stirs up the smallies.
  21. well.....i'm gonna claim my avatar pic as a 17 now.
  22. Am i too late? if not i could suggest a few
  23. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, and as for weeds and snags, no weeds are in the lake until about June and i don't plan to fish them once they come in because anything with an exposed hook is a pain. And also i fish on that lake mainly from my kayak.
  24. H2O express! much better quality, better action out of the box (the "Premium" series are even tank tested every lure), 90% of the time cheaper, and VMC hooks. i bought a few on a whim and not too long later my box was full of them. BPS brand is sub-par IMO.
  25. I have done the same thing. My go to fishing glasses are now the good ole spiderwire wally world specials for 22 bucks. i have owned a few pairs of costa's, and don't get me wrong they are EXTREMELY nice glasses. but for me the spiderwire glasses are unbeatable for 20 bucks, and i don't cry when i loose them.If they put a different brand on the spiderwire glasses and a 100 dollar price tag they would fool a lot of people lol.
