How many year loan can you get on a Triton
While you're working out your budget, don't forget to add in extra gas and oil expenses. Plus, you'll need the USCG mandated safety / signaling gear, lines, anchor, etc. Try to work in the "hidden costs" as best you can. I bought used since I couldn't see paying that much for something that isn't an investment. It's definitely an expense. Just make sure everything works and you are comfortable with the deal. You don't have to rush into a deal as it should be a buyers market right now. Enjoy the hunt. I hope you find what you want. S

Parsite clips
I haven't tried the ones with the weight since I have enough bullet weights as it is. The weight and clip are integral so it could essentially act as a peg but my concern is that the weight might not be close enough to the top of the worm. I'd rather have the weight snug against the worm.

Parsite clips
They also have a bullet weight with the Parasite clip attached for you T-riggers.

Swim Senko
Hey Avid, If this is the effect your looking for (fluttering tail on the fall), you might want to try a Zoom U-vibe speed worm. I fish these slowly, hopping them on the bottom. The tail has a lot of action. S

anyone familar with mercs plz read?
I don't think it's too hard to change out once you've done it a couple times. You have to remove the prop and drop the lower unit to get to the impeller. Keep in mind that while you're there you will probably want to replace the seals too. S

what octane gas do you run in your outboard?
87 Octane for my 02 150 XR6. No need for the high test stuff.

Heres the scenario
I would try one of Storm lures Hybrid crankbaits like the Thunder Core Scoot N' Craw or a Wildeye Soft Shad. Both are crankbaits but also have some of the advantages of soft plastics. Good luck! S

This couldn't be funnier if you tried to make it up! Thanks for a great story.

I hate how rods are displayed above eye level!
Helps me find the fishing department when I walk into a new store. ;D

Barometric pressure
Here's a link to an article that address barometric pressure. It dispels the notion that fish go deep as barometric pressure increases. Something else to ponder... another site Can't catch'em if the line isn't wet. S

Dicks sporting goods
GM in F'Burg is one of my favorites! There's always someone there that knows fishing. As for Dick's, I usually shop at the one in Fairfax, VA. It's hit or miss but I think they try to have someone on staff that knows their stuff. S

Organizing Tackle Boxes in Boat
I use a $7 storage container from Lowes. It's wide enough for 3700 sized Plano boxes and long enough for probably 12 of those. I've got 6 3600s, 1 3700, and a Big Mouth Spinner bait box in mine. There's still room on the sides for all of my scents, tools, scale, culling do dads, and ruler, and sunglasses. Tight Lines. S

Pflueger Gold Medalist Spinning reel
Does anyone have any experience with this reel? Pflueger makes these exclusively for Dick's Sporting Goods and they are on sale for 40 bucks. Are they worth it or should I just go with the President? Whichever reel I get, I'm going to team the reel up with my BPS Extreme 6'6" MH Woo Daves rod. Tight Lines. S

ESPN'S GRADE ON CLASIC COVERAGE...
For what it's worth, ESPN is doing a recap this Saturday...

ESPN'S GRADE ON CLASIC COVERAGE...
I have to give ESPN a solid D-. The only reason I couldn't fail them is at least they had some covereage. Although, the live coverage was so minimal, I don't even see why they bothered. At this rate, the only way we'll get to see Classic coverage is if we buy the DVD. ESPN really blew it this year.

Looking for a rod locker organizer
If you have a Gander Mountain store nearby, they sell rod covers for $4-5.00 each.

Reel Magic or Real Hype?
aka H2O... : The problem with water is that monofilament lines absorb water. As the line dries on the spool, it will maintain that shape (line memory). The various line conditioners provide some degree of waterproofing and therefore the line won't have as much memory. DHMO... funny ;D

gander mountian rods
Shellback, Just to clear it up for you... the motto was 100% true until All Star was bought out. The only rods made outside the US are the Classic series... the rest are still made here. The Classics are still a great value and will compare to ANY rod in it's price range. That explains it. Thanks for the clarification.

Minnkota or Motorguide and other ?'s
I like the indestructible shaft on my Minn Kota TM. It will bend but it won't break. The MG uses a metal shaft that once bent, stays that way.

gander mountian rods
I had this same question so I e-mailed the company. A Gander Mountain rep from their HQ called me back and said that they just send the design specifications to a manufacturer (in China) and the rods are built accordingly. He said this is the same for all of the other rod manufacturers whenever you see the "Made in China" label. As a side note, don't assume that the rod you're buying is made in Japan or the US. I was looking into buying an All Star rod because as the website states, they are "The Great American Rod Company", implying their rods are American made. However, while some of their rods may be American made, not all of their rods are made in the US but are in fact made in China. Kinda misleading if you ask me, but it does explain the lower cost for some models.
