fishing after heavy rains and flooding
Also look for mudlines in the flowing water. This provides a good ambush zone for bass

Length and girth weight calculation
the most widely used formula is (length x lenght x girth)/ 1200. helps to remember that when the 'net is not available

Your buddy is hammerin fish and your NOT!!!
I agree about the masking of scents on your hands. Some people excreet amino acids that are a turn off to bass. Next time try using a fish formula, or have your friend rig the bait for you, as he may have the more attractive amino acids.

Double Fluke Rig
i used it a few times last year and caught a few good fish on it. After I took it off, i just never remembered to put it back on, so thanks for the reminder. I fished mine on spinning gear with no real problems.

Farm Ponds
A friend of mine had a small lake made at his farm about 2 years ago. The bass are thriving, and since they have recently gotten to catching size, and they are not used to lures, they are very aggressive. I went to the lake over the weekend and caught 17 bass in under 4 hours. It was amazing!

Actual Weight
there are a few different quations for a bass's weight, and whoever made a certain claculator simply chose their "favorite" equation.
-
Actual Weight
the reason fish claculator weights are different is because there are a few different formulas for finding the weight of a bass. The one that Bassresource uses is (length x length x girth) / 1200. There are also other formulas that are not used as much. Since no bass follows an exact formula, your bass could be anywhere between 11 and 15 pounds. personaly, I have found the bass resource formula pretty accurate. Also use your own judgement of the weight as a factor and lean closer to the calculated weight that seems more accurate.

live bluegill
I disagree with your statment. You shouldent be doing anything wrong that will get you introuble with the warden. If you are you arent a very good fishermen. You gutta cheat. And that normely means harm to bass. THen that takes away are fishing.Just my opionion actually that was exactly what i was getting at, just misphrased i guess...

live bluegill
ah i do see how the legality of that could be a problem. The only time i use the 'gills is at my grandmothers lake which is private property, but your dad was smart not to let you do that there... nothin ruins a fishing day quicker than the game warden... and perhaps a large asteroid impact :

live bluegill
hey all, ive been a fsherman for about 12 years now, just never joined till now.... anyway, on occasion i get that urge for live bait bassin when i am at my grandmother's house in florida. On tthe chance i cant find any shiners, i often have good luck with baby bluegill rigged on a live bait hook about 3 feet under a bobber. It seems to me that bluegill are often seen as a good food source for a bass, but i rarely see anyone using them. Just wanted to throw that out there as it seems not many people mention bluegill as bait. Maybe it's just me, but i have pulled some quality bass usiing them.
