  1. just the other week i watched 2 bass eat a group of "younglings". I got out my bass colored popper and caught them both.
  2. Did you try fishing in the schools? Theres a good chance the bass were there
  3. i like smaller to medium sized lakes since i mostly fish on foot. Even on a boat, I like medium sizes.
  4. If you are feeling 2 ticks then setting the hook with nothing to show, it is because that second tap is the bass spitting out the lure. Make sure u set it before that second tick.
  5. In the heat the bass either go a bit deeper or stick very close to shade and cover. Precision casts are a must for those shallow shade seekers.
  6. lmao, premature-a-hookulation? Hahaha you sicko
  7. If you look at the sections of the forum, you will see a section called fishing locations. This is split into catagories for different regions, and so you can see where good spots are in your area.
  8. Shad master is right. Leaves and dead vegetation on the bottom decompose and form gasses like methane. The bubbles are probably dead plants rotting. If you have ever snagged a stick or branch and brought it off of the bottom, you probably noticed bubbles coming from where it was laying. Those bubbles were from rotting leaves and had just been trapped under a layer of them.
  9. I dont have an answer for your paint question, but 3/8 should be fine. Just keep trying, and you will get 'em.
  10. Im surprised no one has mentioned John Fox. My cousin and i used to always talk about becoming like him when we were about 8. I'd also say Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston.
  11. Bass get excited when low pressure comes around (ie. rain). RW is right though, be carefull when fishing near storms.
  12. I do a lot of things, but my most used method is simply dragging the lure a few inches at a time. Sometimes i simply stitch the bait in by hand when the bass are sluggish. I even deadstick when using superplastics. Since they float they are deadly when left alone in the water column, especially in current.
  13. I agree with laydowns and docks.
  14. Looked like a lot of fun despite the slow fishing. I liked the "accidental" senko catch.
  15. People fishing off a bridge into the CHANNEL! Over spring break i was fishing with a guide for redfish. Going about 40 knots under a bridge, we didnt notice some jerkwad's line fast enough, and it caught me across the chest, cutting my arm after breaking. (The guide couldnt have been more upset, it wasnt even his fault) I turned around and the bridge guy is yelling in our direction like he had every right to fish in boat traffic. Had i been hooked, I cringe to think what would have happened. I still have a scar from that!
  16. Agreed; bubbles are usually good during a steady retrieve. I use a 1/8 in drill bit on my buzzbait blades.
  17. i agree about cold water. In cold water, even if you know where they are, they may not always be in a mood to bite. But in the summer, they eat baits more readily as long as you know where they are.
  18. I got a cat on a jitterbug last week. I couldnt believe it!
  19. If im ever lookin for excitement, i think I will just talk to these fellow Georgia guys and see what we can cook up :

  21. I wouldnt call it as much of a sting as an impalement with a stinging, burning effect, but the idea is the same
  22. I have found this to be true with a lot of different stings. As a scuba diver, there are plenty of creatures that sting and impale very painfully. So where do you get the ammonia? Well, urine! I kid you not, it may seem gross, but i have witnessed numerous occasions on dive trips where a fresh cupfull of urine was poured on a wound. It really does work! Personally i think it would be worth it to pee on your hand in order to feel better.
