What kind of worms were the zoom ones? Some are simply skinnier than others.

Spawning times tend to vary from lake to lake. Water temp is the biggest factor here, and some bodies of water take longer to warm up.

Be careful with glass beads though. Dont throw them where they could crack or they could cut your line.

I usually just use chicken livers. If you have trouble with them coming off the hook, put them in a stocking (panty hose). They will stay together and still disperse scent.

Some people thrust the tip of their rods in the water if they feel the bass coming to the surface. Sometimes if the bass jumps near the boat or bank I swing it onto land/the boat. You will always lose a few bass on the jump, but learning to keep their heads down does help some.

Earlier this year I was fishing in a small pond near my house. By small I mean less than 1 mile around and only about 1/2 of that is fishable terrain. One saturday, 3 bass 5+ pounds each were taken home and eaten. I was fairly upset by this, but there is really nothing one can do. I do think people taking big fish from there has decreased the big fish population a great amount.

Today I was fishing in north geogia when I happened upon a lure in the water. After a short search on google I found it to be a lazy ike in fire tiger pattern. Seeing as they have been around for ages, I figured a few of you guys have used these lures. Do you have any tips, advice, or plain stories about the lazy ike or the mighty ike? Should I troll it, cast it, or just admire its unique design? Thanks in advance

Fishing them weightless gives the lures a great action in the water. They should have a slow fall through the water column. They dart and fall randomly, looking like a dying animal that bass cant resist. Keep fishing them weightless Thomson, you will have good results.

You could also try using a mono or flouro leader for the C-rig. It can act as a shock absorber and keep the hooks from tearing out. I like using EWG hooks for my carolina rigging; usually 3/0 or 4/0.

The best way to kill a fish would probably be to put it on ice. It slows their matabolism and eventualy they fall into a permanent sleep. I cant think of a more humane way to kill one.

Coelacanths intrigue scientists so much because they are lobe finned fish. They almost have "arms" coming from the body and attaching to the fins. This is one of the links between fish evolving to land animals. Check out the picture again and you will see the lobes or "arms".

In less than 12 hours I will have graduated from high school ! I am so excited to finally be free. The past four years have been up and down with drama and anxiety and stuff. I'm planning on attending Eckerd College in St. Petersburg Florida in the fall where I will persue a Marine Biology major. In the mean time I am almost giddy to be graduating in mere hours . You can bet I will be fishing more than ever for the next few years. I'm so PUMPED for throwing that cap in the air in the morning! Bye Bye high school!

That's a chilling story. I sometimes where a large BUCK hunting knife on my hip when I fish because of people like that. Its sickening where violence and crime is turning up nowadays

I think it also depends on what the people are doing on the bank. If they are jogers the bass may learn that they pose no threat. If everytime a person is nearby, bad things happen, the bass are probably much more skittish.
