Strike King Premier Pro Model Jig
Just an update, I tried a couple of those jigs out yesterday with a (Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw/Green Pump. Blue Flash Color ) trailer. Tried dragging it, hopping it off the bottom, swimming it. And after 3 hours of fishing. Absolutely nothing. I guess Jigs aren't for summer. Either that or these bass have never seen a crayfish before, I don't know what to do.

Strike King Premier Pro Model Jig
Thanks for the advice man. Might try one out today. Just fear the grass with all those jigs I just bought. Don't want to break them all off. lol

Strike King Premier Pro Model Jig
I've heard and researched the swim jigs before, hadn't bought a single one. I guess I like the idea of flipping a jig around than swimming one. Do you think it produces the same as a regular jig?

Strike King Premier Pro Model Jig
http://img.***.com/new_product/SKDJ-OKC-1.jpg I'm pretty sure most of you are familiar with Denny Brauer's Jigs. I went online to Tackle Warehouse several months ago and bought every color in the 3/8 ounce. I also bout a couple trailers. I've been studying how to fish jigs and everything, but I don't know how to gain up the confidence to begin using them. First, I'm bank fishing. Second the water is between stained and murky but not muddy. Third there is alot of medium/heavy submerged grass on the bottom of my lake/pond. I tossed one out a few weeks ago and realized that a bass is only gonna catch one of these on the fall, because of the grass being so heavy on the bottom, there's no way they can see the jig, along with me having the problem that "now I'm hung up in grass". Any pointers would be great. Thanks guys!

Summer's Ups And Downs
Friday I took two buddies of mine out fishing at my favorite spot. Both of them know almost nothing about bass fishing. I hooked one up with a texas rigged baby brush hog (NICK), the other with a drop shot trick worm (MATT). I was using a texas rigged Mag II. After about 30 mins Nick caught a 2lber. Another 5mins, he caught a 5.5lber. I don't understand?! Everyone I take with me always catches the pigs, even if they know absolutely nothing about fishing. Shortly after Matt catches 2 - 2lbers. After Nick caught the 5lber, we all switched to Nicks setup. Caught nothing after that. Sunday was a different story. I set them both up with a texas rigged senko weightless. I was using a lipless crankbait, slow rolling it through some lily's. I caught the first one, about 2lbs. Shortly after I gave up and went to one of my confidence baits/rigs. The carolina rigged trick worm. 1/2 ounce weight, 2 clear glass beads, swivel, 2' leader, 2/0 hook, and green pump. red trick worm with the tail dipped in methylate (red) jj's magic. I fished that rig for about an hour with no luck. Then I saw a fish break the water on what looked to be a decent point or drop off. I moved down the bank to that spot and caught 6 bass in 15mins. They were killing it on this drop off. 1 (4lb.) 4 (3lb.) 1 (1lb). My buddies didn't catch a single thing. Haha. It's funny how that works. Just thought I'd share this with whomever wants to read this long post.

Lipless Crankbait Fishing
I went out and bought a couple Strike King Red Eye Shad Lipless Crankbaits about a month ago, and haven't used them much at all. Crankbaits have never been one of my confidence baits seeing as how I use soft plastics 95% of the time. I broke out one today and decided to crank it around a little and hooked a #er after a few casts and hooked into another #er shortly after. I pretty much know all the techniques of fishing one but I need help with the color choice. The pond/lake I'm fishing has very little cover on the banks, is 12-16' deep in some spots, and has med/heavy grass on the bottom along with some sandy spots. The water color is between stained and murky, but not muddy by any means. I usually use green pumpkin colors in this pond, and it's never failed me. I know that on sunny days with a little wind I should use a chrome/blue, chrome/red, and even a chrome/black. But what about the cloudy days with wind, or even cloudy and no wind at all? Help!? Considering all this info, what do you guys think about color choice? Thanks!

Zoom Super Fluke Set Up
6'0 - 6'6" medium/extra fast tip 5:4.1 spinning reel 10lb mono line swivel 6" - 12" above 2/0 ewg hook and of course a little jj's on the tail All the guys talking about 4/0 - 5/0 hooks are insane. That takes away all the action. lol. A hook on a super fluke with the split belly only has to penetrate through a 1/4 of an inch of plastic. There's really no need for an ewg hook especially that big. lol.

Failed Hook Set Problem
Also try 30# braid with 15# fluoro leader. With the cover you spoke of and all.

Failed Hook Set Problem
your problem? your setting up a punching rig. Although your hook size choice is poor. A 4/0 hook on a trick worm is way too big, you should definetely take that down to a 2/0, maybe even a 1/0 but stick with mono. Braid will bend those smaller hooks. Also a 1/0 - 2/0 hook will give you the action you desire with a trick worm. A larger hook takes that away. Might want to give the weight size thought also. Like I said, 1/2 ounce weight and braided line is for punching matted grass whether exposed or suspended grass. Hope this helps.

Live Minnows Or Artificial Bait
Again guys, I made this post to see who would rather use live bait vs artificial to catch bass. My opinion? Catching bass on artificial to feel accomplished is the way to go, but when your out on a pond/lake with your wife and kids and I'm catching and their not, in order to have a semi-decent day, sometimes breaking out the minnows isn't such a bad idea. I appreciate a lot of the opinions posted on this topic and hope the greatest of luck on you all fishing this summer.

Live Minnows Or Artificial Bait
Shiners or Minnows are live bait. Can catch monster bass on them. Just depends on what the bass want. Sometimes when you can't catch a single bass, you can slaughter bass all day long on a medium to large minnow. But when it comes to feeling accomplished, artificial is the way to go. Minnows are almost cheating. Went to a tournament 2 years ago and caught 21.3 lbs ( 5 fish ) in one period on minnows. you never know. haha

2 Weeks Of Rain. Go Fishing?
thanks for the feedback guys. It's been dry for the most part this week here in Fayetteville so not sure if it's a good a idea to hit the lake again this sunday or not. Hopefully it's good fishing now that the fish have adjusted and moved back deep. Again thanks for the adv.

How Do You Eat Your Bass?
Always wondered why people would go to a catch and release lake or pond, and keep the bass, then take them home and eat them. Bass to me aren't worth eating. Maybe brim and catfish, or maybe even pompano or spots in saltwater, but bass? Never. Rather keep the sport alive than fish a local pond or lake out just to eat the fish and take away everyone's fun.

Deepest Caught Bass
12-14' 4lber on a carolina rig trick worm. felt like a friggin 8lber. haha

After 2 Weeks Of Rain
and 7 hours of fishing, caught a 3lber. One fish caught on a carolina rig, 1/2 ounce tungsten weight, 2 clear glass beads, 2/0 ewg hook w/ green pumpkin blue flash trick worm. I fished all day using spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, senkos, jigs, topwater, and a carolina rig. I got skunked I guess. Maybe another day. I suppose it's the high new water, fish are a little lethargic due to all the warm water. What do you guys think?

2 Weeks Of Rain. Go Fishing?
Here in NC and the surrounding states we've had about 2 weeks straight of rain. Thinking about going fishing tomorrow. If so, what are this fish doing. Sticking to cover on the banks? Or still going deep since its summer. Should I slow down my approach, and what should I and others be using? Litttle help?

Jig Fishing In Med/heavy Submerged Grass
Well I don't have the money for braided line. Will mono work? Because I know it stretches.
