for years I fished with cheaper rods and reels. Maybe $200 a combo. Caught fish. Upgraded to nicer combos, still catch fish. Am I going to go up to $400-500 combos with $300 rods. No, I can catch just as many fish on a $100 rod as a $300 one. It's the person holding the rod that catches the fish. But if someone has the money and wants to fish them that's their priority. Would I love to have a $100,000 bass boat, oh yeah, but for now I'll keep saving till I find the one I want for the right price and catch just as many fish out of that one as that $100,000 one. Just might not get there as fast.

Let us hope so. Bet they don't know she will spawn several times during the spring as well with different males on beds.

I don't know, there were all those national championships under Pete Carroll they had to vacate at USC under his watch....Maybe that ball on the onside kick was over inflated. Cheating means you broke the rules.....now if you happen to find grey area and are SMART ENOUGH to figure out how to use it to your benefit then because the others didn't think of it first......you cheated. I just call it staying one step ahead of everyone else. Say what you say about old Billy, but his teams work hard, if they don't they sit. You WILL play to the level he expects or you will sit. He has no problem benching starters. Why, because he has a diciplined team that plays as a team. But as stated, the haters are gonna hate, but 4 rings sure do look good especially when one is on the middle finger and they show you the bling.

This pretty much sums it up. I specialize in what I fish no matter what I pick up. If I fish it I have confidence in it that I'm going to catch fish. Each year I pick a new technique and focus on learning it. Then it gets put into my bag of tricks and pull it out when I need to. So I specialize in variety, reading the water and conditions, and captitalizing on the best approach. Even if it's thinking outside the box.

I do include those 2 loses both to New York. But in order to have 3 wins and 2 loses, you have to make it to the show 5 times. Oh wait this will be number 6. What team has 6 apperances with the same coach/quarterback. Oh I remember......New England. We both live in S. Cal but lets face it, San Diego just can't be consistant. We won't even talk about Oakland. And SF, last time they went was with Steve Young in the mid 90's. Face it, New England HAS been the dominant football team for the last 10+ years. They do it hurt, the do it healthy, they do it with rookies, they do it with vetrans. They just know how to win. When you're that good, there are always people that are going to hate you but wish their team was "just that dam good".

You catch a few great. Am I going to spend hrs trying to catch one fish....No. If I catch one bass off a bed am I going to catch that fish each day for the next week just because I know where he/she is. No. We all will happen to catch a bedding fish here and there. I don't target them, but if they want to bite in that first 3 min hey why not. But then I'm done with that fish and will not harrass it again. But there are other fish to be caught that are pre-spawn and just as heavy to be had at that time as well.

If the handle is getting in the way, you may want to find a rod that has a smaller butt section. Most of mine are short, measuring the handle all together, the longest is 14 3/4". Longer handles and butt sections limit my pitching motion so I've adjusted to finding rods that fit what I'm looking for.

Depends, have 3 different set ups for different applications. 2 are 7'11" H, one is XF and other is Mod action. Then a 7'6"MH. Two of the reels are *** 8.1:1 and the other is an EXO 100 7:3.1. One with 40lb braid, the other two 30lb braid. 2 of the rods are Black ***'s and the other is a Quantum Tactical Tour "Hack Attack".

No proof of cheating, looking into the accusations of that. And if Bill and Tom win, they will have the same amount of titles. Guess you forgot to look at the fact that "Billy and Tommy" have more playoff wins then any other duo, and will have been to the big game more then ANY other Coach/quarterback combo. Don't hate the Pats just becaue they are that good. Hate the teams that can't figure out how to stop them.

Don't they check before the game? Maybe Luck used one of those balls when he got that one touchdown. Or maybe that's why he threw those interceptions. It was the balls fault we lost. Last week it was the way they lined up and we weren't quick enough to adjust. Sounds like just what Brady responded and said last week......"guess we know the rules a little better". But the deflated ball defense for a def deflated Indy Defense. I know when it's cold you can loose psi, maybe they all lost air....or maybe because the New England had the ball longer, all the handling of those footballs. I mean how many times can it take being handed to a 250+ lb running back and shoved down a defenses throat. Maybe all the weight of the defense trying to stop him caused some of the air to escape. Either way, Indy got blown out period. Next team please.

Got into it just like you.....didn't want to spend a bunch of money so here is what I ended up doing. BPS IM6-Graphite Musky Rod 7'6"MH $59.99 Cardiff 300 $109.99 Line is your choice. I choose to put 40lb braid and use 25lb CXX topshot (between 10-15ft). So far that combo has caught plenty of bass, throws 8" hudds like a champ as well as lighter Line Thru's and I am out less then $200. The rod can handle baits up to 8oz without any issues as well. I can throw the 10oz Dead Twitch with it and don't have any problems.

Please clean your bearings. The more oil you have in there, the more dirt can build up between them causing subpar performance. Pop them out, clean them with acetone or lighter fluid, dry, and relube with a drop of oil. Sounds like a great project to do while watching the football games today. Shoot could get it done during one of the half times.

Buying used can be good and bad. You might get a good deal, but you may end up with issues. #1 If you do buy used, you need to see it work before buying which isn't easy. Then it would have to be installed in the boat and then removed. When the owner removes it, he may damage it. #2 You have no warranty to cover your investment. The money you save on a used unit may be wasted if it craps out early. Bottom line, save up, get the biggest display you can afford. Look on ebay and see what you can find. But your risk may outweight your reward.

Gonna have to agree with too much oil. One drop a month with almost daily use will keep it lubed.

Do to the facts at hand I will choose to plead the 5th on this topic as it may incriminate me.....oh wait I don't have a wife anymore so A LOT. I'm gonna say this last year probably up close to $5000 and that's only counting rods, reels, tackle. Yeah, I'm a proud member of The Bait Monkey Club.

My main flipping/pitching rod is a Moderate action. Not mod-fast. I like the extra give fishing heavier weeds and a bit more drag pressure. But I also have an X-fast for lighter jigs and lighter cover. Both rods are 7'11". The Moderate seems to work better for heavier jigs and punching where the X-fast helps with the lighter more accurate pitches. But I do like the feel of the mod when you set the hook and can pull knowing that you can keep constant pressure on the fish from just the action of the rod.

You do realize Grigsby is sponsored by Quantum. I believe he fishes EXO's and the newer MGTour. I don't think I've seen him fish any Abu Garcia reels unless he changed sponsors this season.
