4.6 on a yo-zuri sashimi popper Chameleon Frog color. Fishing the popper over a large laydown right off a boat landing on the susquehanna river.

In my opinion they arent ballanced very well and are on the heavy side. There are better options in the price rance

I like the kvd sexy frogs. Color means nothing to me honestly. I just have one with a white belly and one with a black belly. The bass see nothing else

I have only thrown one quantum. A smoke in a 7 gear ratio. I thought it was a quality reel in the limited time I used it. Smooth, quiet, cast distance seemed up to par. I had zero gripes with it. That said, when im looking for a new reel I never even think to look quantum. Why? I have no idea.

I have a semi v. 75% flat with a vd bow. Cuts through the water, especially when the wind picks up and still very stable even loaded with 2 people plus gear

I agree, this is not a hook problem. Either your hooks arent sharp and not penetrating deep enough, or your ripping the lip with you hookset and not keep enough pressure on the fish

Within a short drive of troy you have tioga hammond d**n and cowanesque (spelling?) lake. Both excellent lakes. Closer to the sayre area there is less bigger water to be found but a ton of smaller ponds that are fun to fish. Where do you live? I could take you to a few spots in the coming weeks if youre interested.

my favorite technique for this is a really streamline swim jig. Comes through the grass really well

yep, I use little pieces of tape on the reel seat. And name tag labels from my work for my plano boxes

Sounds like youre digging in, I would use at a minimum 30lb pp of sufix. Or even just stick to 12lb mono for the cranks. As for launching the baits I assume youre bait is coming untied during the cast? Use a polimar knot and learn to tie it good. It wont slip. Check your knot and line every 8-10 casts and retie when necessary

Veritas is a good rod, especially at the $79 price point that *** has them right now. The MH actually makes a good frog rod being that it is a little more powerful than the MH tag would suggest. I think you'll be quite happy

First off, the rod is over powered for throwing something that light. The rod isnt loading with the low weight. You may get better distance backing off on the brakes a bit, but the risk is higher backlash

I think they work just like any other crank, the action catches the bass. The look and color catches the fisherman

Squarebills through the timber, bright swim jig (bladed if heavy stain) along over and through the grass. Work what little contour there is with a jig and work every inch of it. If thats all the structure there is I guarantee that fish are holding to it

I throw a firetiger 90% of the time in really stained water. Rattles are a must

I love swim jigs over grass. Swim it, drop it into the holes, sit for a min, pop her up and keep swimming. I have had great success with this

Siebert jigs are hands down best I have used. I jsut wish I had more of them. That said, I have a TON of cheap walmart arkie jigs and have caught hundreds of bass on them. At 2 something a piece, they are great for fisherman on a budget

There truely are, I hit pisgah quite a bit as well, at least 10 times a year. For a small "lake" it does hold some darn good fish, but it is quite pressured. I mainly stick to the river myself, Just got my first boat only a few months back. Only a 12' tin boat but heck iv taken it miles and miles over the susquehanna already.

First off, the dial for the mag brakes drove me nuts while palming the reel. Second, I wasnt using the dual braking system at all, only the cent brakes so I sold the reel and bought a chronarch and a revo s. It wasnt an issue of forgetting to use the mag brakes, I had no need to. I set 2 cent. brakes on and never needed any more.
